With New Vegas done (for awhile - I'll inevitably go back to it again) I finally got around to starting Transformers: War for Cybertron last night. For an oldschool G1 fan like me, this game is pure distilled fanservice, and it plays well to boot. Really enjoying it so far.

Hope that steam makes it mandatory in the future.

Cross-platform save compatibility would technically depend on the game, but in most if not all cases I imagine it'd be present. If you hit your Steam Cloud quota for a game then I believe Steam begins to overwrite older files with newer ones -- you can check how much space you have remaining by right-clicking a game on your library, selecting "Properties" and switching to the "Updates" tab.

I'm sure the decrease in Amazon deals has much more to do with them realizing they were just throwing away money chasing a market they would never have a large chunk of, and moving that focus to mobile (where there have been tons of deals in recent months).

That and so many of the great bundle deals we all remember from the peak of Tony were from THQ who were about to die and from Square-Enix who never seem to understand the PC market and were probably easily manipulated (and they still slash and burn their prices pretty regularly as we all know). Also, the Humble Weekly bundle didn't really exist then and has changed the marketplace quite a bit by introducing bundle deals from major publishers.

Plus, it never makes any sense to target the bargain hunters like CAG and Reddit, they aren't loyal, aren't ever happy with any deal that isn't the best ever, and don't actually spend a lot of money compared to people who buy games at release.

I doubt that the Humble Weekly Bundle affected Amazon very much at all. I think it probably has more to do with the new replacement for Tony maybe not having the same kind of drive or interest personally in his job that Tony had. His recent markedly decreasing personal interactions with CAG and the other communities that Tony frequented almost daily is I think legitimate evidence supporting this supposition. Of course, this may be due to an official shift by Amazon away from an emphasis on gaming community based input for decision making, who knows. Maybe Tony's push for direct interactions with the gaming community and pushing huge discounts didn't produce the increase in revenue/interest that they were looking for. It certainly did with me. If not for friendly Russian help with Steam purchases I would have spent much more through Amazon the past two big Holiday seasons than I did through Steam directly.

As for not spending as much money as those who buy at release, Gabe gave one example that during a huge 75% off price reduction their gross revenue increased by a factor of 40. I can't imagine that other digital distribution outlets aren't seeing the same trend on their ends, otherwise, why has Amazon spent multiple years pushing this, and why is GMG still pursuing the same strategy? If anything I think that their outdated creaky site format is what has held them back more than anything. It is hard to know when deals are on, you are basically forced to check other community pages/threads for deal info. Why should I have to go to CAG or Reddit to get official info about their own deals? They still have the same problems with showing game credit on accounts, same bad UI for the digital games section, same problems with purchasing multiple items at once. Really basic stuff that should have been fixed years ago but probably won't because the infrastructure is too big. At least that is the impression I got from comments by Tony.

Have you run into issues with GFWL? I'm not saying it's not shitty, but after I initially signed in it's never really bothered me since.
I finally finished Anor Londo last night. I'm enjoying the game but I also kind of want it to be over.
