I finally finished To the Moon, and there is water leaking from my eyes.

While I also thought the game was touching, a few things bothered me:
- Watts was overused for comic relief / nerd references (
"You never cockblock someone in the middle of a kamehameha!"
...really?)
- The walking speed was a bit too slow for my tastes, especially when you just had to backtrack somewhere.
- I felt Act 1 was a bit repetitive, as you always do the exact same thing over and over again (
search for memory links, combine them, solve useless slider puzzle, repeat
).
And I guess the whole game was just a bit too cheesy for my tastes. Still liked it overall though.

I agree with your first and third point, I expect Watts being more developed in the next game instead being used mainly as comic relief, I can see why you think the first part being repetitive but I took a year to finish the game so in the end it didn't bothered me. The story as you said can be cheese and
Watts even joke about it
but it caught me off guard. Good game overall.

Valve really needs to add online statuses to Steam Community profiles. You know, like on Friends, that thing that's intrinsically linked to Community.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I've updated Enhanced Steam for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox to version 6.3. Changes include:

  • Added an information dialog to app pages that are excluded from Family Sharing
  • Steam user review scores are now loaded more quickly
  • Multiple DRM warnings now display in a single warning banner
  • Fixed a bug where some market links were not showing up on certain badge pages
  • Fixed several bugs caused by Valve's CDN name change
The Chrome extension should be updating automatically right now. I'm working out some issues with the Firefox plugin update that has to do with our new server, but I'll get that resolved soon and when that's working the Firefox version will update automatically.

As always, let me know if you run into any issues.

It does have a great single player mode apparently, but you should sell that if it's sealed.

I wouldn't call Phantom Dust's single player great. I'd rate it between 6-7/10 and the multiplayer 9/10. The single player is enjoyable despite the pointless hub, repetitive missions, and braindead partner AI. There's a neat story to go along with it, along with some boss fights, but I'd say it's fun purely because the core game is so awesome, and not because the campaign is especially well designed.

Any ETA on hiding owned games from search results for Firefox?

Now that I have control of my own Firefox updates, I actually had a set of time in July set aside to start backporting a lot of the Chrome-only features to Firefox. So, hopefully sometime next month. Sorry it won't be done by the time the sale starts.

Thanks a lot for all the work you're putting into ES! I wouldn't want to go back to using the site without it!

Awesome, cheers.

No skin off my nose; I won't be buying much. Plus I have Chrome on my laptop if I absolutely need to sift through a bajillion results.

Good morning.

Guys I found my excuse for not playing Volgarr the Viking:

Logically, the only reason would be they didn't think having this game on their platform would be a good return on the investment of loaning out $2500+ worth of hardware to these guys. Yes, Sony have been giving out dev kits "like candy" — and for all we know, they may still be doing so — but that doesn't mean that everyone gets one. You need to demonstrate some promise first.

Basically, what this dev is telling us is that after Sony and Nintendo rejected his game, MS decided to pick it up, and he's really happy about that. And that's not to say Volgarr won't be a good game; maybe Sony and Nintendo already have 50 games in that genre in development, and don't feel the need to pay for any more. If Sony feel they need to choose between backing a game like Abzû or Yet Another Retro Side-scroller, I'm personally glad they chose the former.

In any case, I don't think this article proves Sony has changed any of their policies, or that Microsoft's policies are any better than Sony's. It just indicates MS are scraping the bottom of the barrel for games.
And again, no offense to Crazy Viking Studios intended. <3

NHL playoffs were fucking off the charts.

Every year it makes me wish I would just buy a console to play NHL XX and stop hoping for EA to bring it back to PC.

Fucking EA.

As much as I loved that game, I've forgot a large part of the game, maybe it's time to go back?

I missed your reply before, I don't know how these kinds of game with focus on the story where you don't have a say how it unfolds hold up in a second playthrough, of course you did say you remember almost nothing of the story but it could be interesting if it has the same impact on you in the second playthrough.
