Ok, recording noob question:

I have shadowplay set to go at 60fps and 720p. I'm wondering what effect bitrate has on my recording when I'm able to select from 10-50 mbps.

I see Miasmata is in a bundle. I think a lot of people will be pleasantly surprised if they give it a chance. I bought the game on whim when it was on sale awhile ago and I do not regret it. I was craving meaningful exploration reminiscing of the glorious days of Morrowind and Gothic 2 and to my surprise this game delivered for me.

The objective of the game is to explore the island you are stranded on and find a way to escape. You are afflicted by some strange disease and must find the cure. You will not kill a single thing in this game which is itself quite unique. It's funny, I was playing How to Survive and Sniper Elite Zombie Army and thinking to my self, "How many fucking zombies do I need to kill?" At least have some enemy variety. I'm getting tired of the endless massacre. I did enjoy those games but you get my point. Sometime you just want to enjoy the game world and soak in the atmosphere. However, you are not alone. There is something out there and it is stalking you. When night falls seek shelter.

Gameplay consists of exploring and finding plants which you can craft into numerous potions which have a variety of benefits. There is crafting but don't expect too much depth. There is elements of survival, you must eat and drink to keep your strength up. Various notes are scattered about revealing some lore of the island. Miasmata has one of the most realistic mapping systems I have ever seen. You must mark two landmarks and triangulate your position in order to fill out your map. Very cool. Exploration is truly rewarding. I was amazed that the development team consisted of only two brothers. It's quite impressive what they managed to accomplish. I look forward to their next game.

i think my only issue with miasmata (apart from the hilarious flask drinking particles) is that there's a monster

i totally didn't want that game to have a monster

i wanted something like dear esther with an actual exploration mechanic

much more interesting for me that way

I liked the creature. Added an element of danger. Your right though the game would have been perfectly fine without the creature. It got annoying sometimes. My bad for spoilers tried to be ambiguous.

Thankfully one of the major community mod packs has one that lets you remove the creature.

Normally I'd be fine with just dealing with the creature as-is in game but it's really not fun to put up with after a while. Makes walking around at night fucking terrifying though.

Yes. Just send yourself the item as a gift, then follow the instructions in the modbot thread.

(basically remove the ?redeemer=blah@email.com) and pair it with the game instead of the key in the PM to modbot.

this is pretty cool but personally i wish the game was outright monsterless

i imagine the game feeling kinda empty without it? maybe?

I remember doing research into Miasmata and discovering that the brothers ceased development to work on a new project.

There were some bugs and broken achievements leftover. Nothing that could cause an uproar, but it's unfortunate.

I wasn't aware. That is unfortunate. I'm glad they are working on something new but they should not have abandon their game like that. The game definitely has many flaws but is enjoyable for the most part. One major problem is that you sometimes feel like your are on ice skates sliding around and this can really screw you if you are not careful. The physics are poor. Still impressive what they accomplished with such a small development team.

I meant more like "what does bitrate control exactly?"... as in, if i have it low vs. high, what will the difference be in the end result.

Also, where was it you guys were hosting webm files? I'm attempting to create one just to see if I can and wouldn't mind throwing it up and linking it in here.

I get lots of Desura spam from devs of games from garbage bundles I bought begging me to give them impressions or vote for them on Steam, and I have my Desura privacy settings on max.

Did Coffee Stain remove controller support from Goat Sim in the latest patch? I can't get it to work anymore. Also all those NPCs on the roof in the new map :O crashed my game.

Edit: Okay, now my categories emptied completely except for non-steam games. GabeN please.

Oh it means the size allowed for each frame in the recorded video. 50 is the theoretical peak you are limiting it too, aka the least compressed video they allow.

I think the fix is "upgrade your PC so you can maintain 60fps"... :\

I wonder what would happen if you dropped a bunch of your graphical settings down to lower...

If you did that so it could maintain 60fps, you would at least confirm what the issue is.

I would agree with you, but i don't think my OC'd 2500k and my GTX 670 should be having problems with Injustice.
I think i discovered the issue. I remembered reading when the game launched that the shadows were bugged or caused some problems(read about black screens, not slowdowns), so i lowered the option 2 times. So far, no slowdowns anymore. Should've tried that before posting.
Well, whoever is having a similar problem, try doing that.

EDIT: NOPE, totally random. sometimes there's no slowdown, sometimes the whole match slowns down to a crawl... ffs. seriously considering asking valve for a refund. Not that i'll get one, but this is really unacceptable. thought things like this were already fixed.
