Thanks to Dusk Golem for being so generous and giving away keys for Close Your Eyes. I managed to snag a copy, and make it my 4000th game! Barbie Dreamhouse Party will have to wait.

You forgot about one thing. Zombies. People love their zombie mode. Even though the newer games have it a lot of people still prefer the WaW/ cheaper entry price.
I mean, it could be worse. You could have actually added Gun Monkeys to your account.
But it's been $20 since 2012 or so and has always had zombies. It didn't start really selling again until about 6 months ago. What has made it pick up? There's been a ton of other PC-centric zombie games in the last 3 years.
It baffles me.

Kindasorta-maybe history time: I vividly recall that, not all that long after Valve first introduced Daily Deals, it reached the point where Worms Reloaded filled the void of the Daily Deal in regions where the "real" deal wasn't available.
I've made more than a few jokes here and there about how bad I my memory is, but this is one of the relatively few things I can recall with clarity. Please tell me I'm not crazy. What has made me doubting my mental fortitude all the more is that it never happened again -- if, say, the DD was a GFWL game, then stiff biscuits.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, it's a videogame question afterall, but is Terraria these days (especially with this patch) more of a "proper" game or is it still one of those "here you can do a bunch of shit I dunno figure it out" type things?

It doesn't have achievements or cards, so it can't have changed much.
They call it GOTY because they can and because it probably makes them money. "Borderlands Game of the Year, you say? Must've won lots of awards for them to call it that, better throw money at it."

At first, you were paying upfront for early access to all content, secure in the knowledge that your loyalty was being rewarded.
Now, you're paying upfront for early access to some content that will likely be cheaper before even some of it has been released because lolololol even after all this time they still think it's a good deal.
In BL2's case, what makes it all the more worse is that the 2K announced and released as "second season" of DLC that has no corresponding Season Pass. Pete Hines wishes he was that devilishly stupid.

I don't know who's worse: the BL2 devs as you described, or the people who made Aliens: Colonial Marines.
Well, it was blind faith, but this was before publishers realised they could get away with telling early adopters to fuck off. A "Season Pass" was an actual season pass.

Eh, if you actually like BL, the amount of content in BL2's season pass/ Goatee edition is probably worth the extra money. Four fairly sizable new areas with new quest lines and new items. It's better value than most season passes, at least in terms of amount of stuff.
Of course, by the time I actually finished the main story of BL2 I really had no desire to play any more of it.
The music and the voice acting were top notch for hyping up the game. Probably one of the most well done trailers I have seen.
Even knowing how bad I think the game actually is from a design stand point, I can appreciate the trailer.
That is an interesting observation.
You will be changing your tone when we get Persona 5.
Still not a fan of the Elderscrolls games, never will be.
