Did you play the first Dead Island? I really liked it, but I feel like you can't play this game if you finished the previous one... it was so damn long, and this one is basically the same game if I understand correctly

I played through about half of the original Dead Island and loved it. I picked it up for a friend and I for us to go through. Supposedly you can import your save so you don't start off from the beginning.
