Still Life?

I saw this out of the blue at BB this weekend.

I read the IGN review and they said it's a decent point and click murder mystery.

Anyone have it/impressions?

It is no Monkey Island nor is it Longest Journey...but it is quite fun and the story is pretty darn good. I really hope to see this genre stay around.. (with RPGs) without those two all I have left to play is Sports and Strat games...

PS: The demo is worse than the game... take that for what it is worth...

On a scale of 1 to decent I give this point and click murder mystery a "shiny".

Good stuff if you can deal with the iffy puzzles.

BTW get it for the PC not the Xbox.. doesn't translate very well to a controller

The puzzles are very weak, but the atmosphere is pretty good and so is the plot except for the ending (if you can call it that). Can't really recommend unless it's cheap.

Well I got it for Xbox anyway for 19.99 :D

Seems OK, I kind of like these games although I suck at them. Character walks too slow, though.

I have Moneky Island and Broken Sword but never got too far.

I've played the demo, quite enjoyed it, and fully intend to get the full game eventually... however I wan't wholly enamoured with the speach interface... just seemed to me to be click, click, click and didn't really provide much variety.

Playing CoMI at the moment and it's actually alright... not as bad as I was expecting.

Actually while this thread is knocking around, let me ask my fellow adventure gamers... whats the story with 'A Vampyre Story'?

Was it shown at E3? Do they have a publisher yet?

For those unfamiliar with it the game, it's basically a (dream)team of ex-Lucasarts staff who are trying to revive the adventure genre. Looks good from the stills anyway.

It's not as bad as MOS, but it isnt good. The plot is good, the puzzles are awful (Let's see, there's a serial killer on the loose and I'm going to stop chasing him and bake cookies for my daddy!), average at best vo, and a horrible ending. I wouldn't reccomend it
