Pretty disgusting of Sony to pay for exclusivity.
Yeah, a lot of people in this thread seriously believe that for whatever reason.
Don't spread fud. That's nonsense. It's at least twice as good as the DS3.
You say that as though the dual shock 4 is well made

Might as well say no "Dave and Busters" version? Arcades are dead.
Why should we believe you over Ono himself, are you saying he is lying?

Link please?
No just a bunch if salty posters that pretend that Capcom has never done this before (RE, Monster Hunter, Dead Rising) and that a Capcom IP being exclusive to a specific platform is completely unheard of.Have there been Tomb Raider-level meltdowns yet?
Probably a mutual agreement to attempt to save the PS4 in Japan.

I have both xb1 and ps4...there is no comparison. The ps4 controller feels cheap.
http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=636461&page=1Ono has said Capcom couldn't afford to make the game and the only reason it's being made is because Sony is willing to fund its development?
Link me, as it's not mentioned in the OP.

The ds3 was rock solidly built (in comparison) and had a battery life that was less like a handheld consol and more like a wireless controller
Did he say more than that tweet from over a year ago?
Yeah, a lot of people in this thread seriously believe that for whatever reason.
Xbox never did that right? right!? can i play Gears of War on PS? Halo? Sunset OD? Tomb Raider 2? want me to mention more? Each of them do this. Get over it just like i did and never played any one of those MS exclusives.
As long as they don't add gems...
There's a couple reasons why this is not as bad as MS and Tomb Raider:
1. PS4 doesn't have half the install base/marketshare of the Xbone, so the majority of console owners aren't getting blown out with this deal like was the case with TR. It also makes a lot more fucking sense because of the current console marketshare. TR deal doesn't make any sense whatsoever! :/
2. Street Fighter has never had the vast majority of the fighting game hardcore on Xbox, it's always been on Playstation and associated with PS. So again, the hardcore fans of the series aren't getting bummed out like was the case with TR, which was also a traditional PS franchise. I don't think you can say the same with SF and Xbox, in all honesty.
But I know that doesn't make this deal any harder to swallow if you are a Bone owner.
That wouldn't surprise me if true to be honest. Street Fighter V could have simply been SFIV with new levels + 1080p and people (including me) would have still been happy to see the series stay alive.
Have there been Tomb Raider-level meltdowns yet?
They've gone and done it... they've gone and woke the sleeping dragon now.
Sony should have left well enough alone and now they're going to get it. It's not enough that they're bleeding benjamins from practically every crevice of their existence. Now they go and throw immense moneyhats at a niche game like Street Fighter just to piss off the market. Why pay to keep a game out of the hands of as many gamers as possible? Why not put that money into first-party studios and games instead?
I know, I know... this is the way the business goes as they say. Well, they forced Microsoft's hands with their early sales lead and Microsoft only responded with an NPD whooping (source: musings thread) by way of incredible deals and value. Microsoft will undoubtedly follow this announcement up with some real megatons of their own.
Gears remake collection. A true Banjo sequel. Halo 5 beta in the hands of gamers. The next Bayonetta, Dead Space and Crysis as exclusives. Those are the kinds of blockbuster response announcements I expect, and then some. You hit Microsoft with a jab, you best be ready for a flurry of uppercuts coming at you in response.

Yes. If you're playing on a platform where 95% of gamers are, you'll have more opponents than if you were on a platform with 50% of them.Less players is better for community?
Parity clauses, poor sales, weak hardware, difficult to code for…
There are plenty of good reasons to avoid doing business with MS; take your pick. There's no reason to assume money changed hands here. Years of dealing with MS have made some of y'all way too cynical. I know Sony have published plenty of games over the years, but have they ever paid outright for exclusivity? Like, just handed cash to another publisher to keep their game off of other platforms?
Why should we believe you over Ono himself, are you saying he is lying?
Are you seriously suggesting that Capcom couldn't afford to make a new iteration in their own IP?
So who is funding RER2 and REMake HD if Capcom are suddenly strap for cash? And the PC version of SF5 is coming because....
Pretty clear it's either Sony paying to keep the game off the X1 or this is some bullshit announcement/marketing exclusive. Stop trying to make excuses.
If it is exclusive to the PS4 for consoles, then I think Capcom's management problems are far deeper than any of us envisioned. They seem to have almost no confidence to go in alone on any big release this generation. They would have canned Dead Rising 3 without Microsoft's support, and if they can't even be bothered to take a risk on Street Fighter V of all things without Sony being a partner, then the company really has a dismal future.

I think he's referring to this. Ono doesn't exactly say that though
Clearly he's lying though. Miles probably knows the whole story.
But the series is thriving at this moment, SF4 Ultra is still chugging along swimmingly.

“Personally, I don’t want to stop Street Fighter’s main numbered series at IV,” says Ono. “Realistically speaking, developing a title for next-gen consoles requires a huge amount of staff members, and a large sum of money. The issue of money also applies to everyone else, as it’ll be required to invest in a new console, game, and arcade stick.”
So take this with a grain of salt but I just heard from a friend that its basically the situation with Dead Rising. Ono was asked a while ago if he was working on SF5 and he said that Street Fighter though his biggest passion at Capcom isn't getting the greenlight and that it was a miracle he got to make 4.
Sony swooped in. Funded. Now we have SF5
Same with Dead Rising relatively successful IP for Capcom but not where they want to leverage their resources.
Microsoft swoops in. Funds. Dead Rising 3.
But the latest SFIV expansion JUST came out. Ugh.
Well I guess Sony has finally stopped being complacent...
Hopefully this isn't their capstone announcement though.
Quoted by another user above
Ono said that before they stole 50% of Japan's income in MH4 last year and MH4G this year.
