I'm looking forward to anything new from the people behind Assassin's Fist. That movie was amazing.

I thought they were gonna continue from Assassin's Fist and cover the rest of the SF2 cast and the story there. Is that gonna be put on hold then?

I thought they were going on a series based on SF II. Still, I'm up for whatever the AF team is working on, that series was amazing.

I trust these guys to deliver the good stuff. Nash looks surprisingly good, though I don't think anything can save his hair from looking stupid in live action.

Can a series be produced as a marketing effort and succeed as an artistic product without selling out? Will this series be able to stand on its own, and not just as a advertisement for SFV? If this product succeeds and proves that the Assassin's Fist team wasn't just lucky the first time around, I think it's time for Capcom to realize they might need to hand much more creative control over.

I think the team had a vision for what they wanted. I wish they didn't have to be flexible with that vision in order to please marketing. We never could get a firm release date for World Warrior. Maybe we should be thankful that we are getting anything at all. Part of me wants to echo what I've heard others say. " I hope this doesn't lessen expectations for World Warrior."

As a long time fan of all thing Street Fighter lore related. I'm not a fan of the fantasy direction Street Fighter has taken post Street Fighter 3. My love for the lore only extends to the Alpha series and Street Fighter 2. Hopefully Joey Ansah and company can bring some respectability back to Capcom's story shenanigans.

FINALLY!

I'll hold off comments until I see more, but there is too much SFV in my SF2, so far.

Any info? Is this confirmed AF team, and to some Capcom marketing team for SFV

The entire stream chat said "lol" when they played the trailer at Capcom Cup.

Personally I gave Assassin's Fist a try but found it really dull and couldn't finish the series.

I should watch Assassin's fist.

I recommend the Blu-ray. The added director's commentary is excellent and very informative.

This is indeed the Assassin's Fist team. Joey has confirmed that they are still developing World Warriors as well. I trust their creative instincts. I'm wondering if the reveal of Nash will come with a proper backstory, I don't think it's absolutely necessary. We can see the jumps in continuity did hurt MK Legacy Season 2. If they can anchor this story with Ryu, Ken and Nash we could continue to add flesh to their live action characterizations. That's not to say Nash shouldn't or couldn't be the focus.

Be forwarned that Blurays for the movie are region locked :P
Great movie otherwise.

Christian Howard looks so amazing in this series. It's going to be amazing to see him as a more mature master. He is being described as Sensei. I love what the team is showing and have in store for this series. I'd keep a close eye on this, it looks to be shaping up as a worthy successor to Assassin's Fist.

They're working on this alongside World Warriors? Nice! The more SF content these guys make, the better.

Considering that they wrapped filming for Resurrection not too long ago, I guess they're preparing to shoot World Warrior. These guys must be super-busy right now.

What the fuck is this shit

This is totally unlike Assassin's Fist

This is to Assassin's Fist what Mortal Kombat: Annihilation was to the first Mortal Kombat film.

Have you seen the film? I hope that the film will still come across as somewhat grounded in reality. When you have characters that come back from the dead you have to make the best of that source material. Looking at what production images and information that's been provided, I think this production is headed in the right direction.(given said source material) The imagery itself is of the highest order of fidelity to the source material. I'm sure the team will use its creative license to cut the corn/chesse in the appropriate areas.

I too have concerns about this production because it will be working from an untold story that is yet to be consumed by the fanbase. If you remember Assassin's Fist was a very loose adaptation of the Street Fighter Generations anime. I personally had many reservations about Assassin's Fist because I wasn't a fan of the Generations anime. Yet Assassin's Fist was able to use what was good about Generations and cut what was bad to make great on a mediocre story. The most comforting fact about these productions is the knowledge and fan cred of the director himself. I find Joey's love for the source material to be impeccable and unquestionable. I also trust his ability to focus on story elements that are most relevant to the fan base.

A valid question I have at this point would be the ability for SF Ressurection to live up to the grounded tone of Assassin's Fist. I hope that when both these productions are done they both seem as if they were cut from one long film. At least this is my hope.

The sum of parts can be greater than a whole. Just looking at an individual frame of Kill Bill doesn't tell you how very serious and mature a film it is in its entirety.

As much as I like Assassins' Fist, I hope capcom doesn't consider this a replacement for a proper story mode for SFV. Really hoping that Square Enix trademark was hinting at a collaboration for them working on the cutscenes or something.

Would love a full fledged story mode like Mortal Kombat.

Variety
"Nash is targeting legendary “Street Fighter” champions for unknown reasons and Ryu and Ken are determined to find out why."

I have no problem with scenario above. It allows Joey to focus more on the fighting and less on story this time around. Assassin's Fist was criticizes as being a little too light on the quantity of fight time filmed. Even though I personally had no problem with Assassin's Fist as an action film.

This line from this article looks as if it gives away the plot. I'm going to guess that this will have a similar format to Assassin's Fist with five,11 to 13 minute episodes. Which would put this series at a length of about a hour. I have a problem with this running time because an hour long film doesn't serve as a decent offering for a consumer product. Maybe there will be extended footage to lengthen the offering.

I've also read that this production would include at least one or two original characters. So far we have Ken, Ryu, and Zombie Nash. The sky is the limit as far as characters can go.

If this series will serve as a direct prologue for Street Fighter 5, I wonder if Capcom or Sony is helping with production cost in any way? This product seems as if it's serving too many masters already. smh

Part of me now wants Ken's actor to be the MCU's Iron Fist.

Christian would make an awesome Iron Fist. There is a movement to get the character cast as Asian though. I'll support the character either way as long as the actor can move and sell the action well. I'm sure who ever gets cast will do great.

I don't think we will see Gill in this production, but the thought has me excited. Joey Ansah did a great job with the characterization of Akuma. I can't wait to see his take on such an over powered bad ass like Gill.

In the right hands the character could become even more visually impressive than Dr. Manhattan.

Assassin's fist was so god damned slow and boring, hopefully this is a little more lively.

Oh and perhaps this time they may want to consider resolving the central conflict of whatever story they are presenting for a change.

Dude, don't get my hopes up like that. That being said, I feel like Urien would be easier to pull off. Either way, if this movie is touching on the origins of the return of Charlie, then they'll have to mention the Illuminati at some point.

I agree with the slow part for a action movie, but I was never bored. Assassin's Fist took itself seriously and I think it's better for it. So you weren't interested in the story they were telling. You must have "bought in" some what to be interested to see a more satisfying conclusion? In comparison to movies like SF2 The Animated Movie, that have many scenes that have little to no point at all, with so many pointless fight scenes that have no relevance what so ever on the plot of the show, Assassin's Fist works as more than just an action movie. But hey, collections of fight scenes back to back are action packed. Your sentiments are shared around the web from many action junkies.

I don't think it a stretch at all to say there are much more action packed martial arts films available on the market. I would say MK Legacy has exactly what you seem to be looking for in spades. I'm not a big fan of mindless action, but I also think the Assassin's Fist team has work to do in striking a better balance with the pacing and the action which is what I think your comment suggests. It's interesting that this comic comes out in March. I wonder if any of this content will be included/filmed in Street Fighter Resurrection? I don't see why if this story takes off Joey and company couldn't continue to tell stories from both timelines. I was always a fan of Udon's work. I'd also like to see a collaboration with Chubby Boy Films.

The trailer releases in five days on March 1st. We've gotten fewer casting details leading up to the release this time. I'm sure I'll be surprised.

I just watched Assassin's Fist for the first time a couple of days ago and fucking loved it. It's the best video game movie ever made, I can't wait to see what the team do next.

Umm, wait a second. There's another proper sequel in development for Assassin's Fist, no? Titled World Warrior, I think. This is a standalone type of web-series.

Assassin's Fist was on point. Will watch this one as well.

I mean, they finally managed to find a good looking IRL Ryu/Ken, that is something.
