He's strong but he's also a C-lister in canon sense. Compare him to Sagat, Bison or Ryu. He's Dan-tier when it comes to importance.

That'd be interesting, a "plot importance" tier list. Bison on top, as he should be.

Funny enough, Ryu would probably be B-tier, since his story usually is separate from the Shadowloo nonsense.

Deejay shits on Sagat bison and Ryu in a canon sense & he's more important than all of them

Canonically Dee Jay can use his giant chompers to reflect light and blind his opponent a la Lone Wolf and Cub. That puts him on par with cuffless Cody, two arm Oro, and Super Satsui no Hadou 3 Akuma.

Competitive anxiety is preventing me from playing more than 1.5 hours in any working day, I just get so nervous.

I got that a lot from Starcraft. I think it'll go away as your experience and knowledge of the game expands, therefore there's less and less "unknowns" to worry about.

Just had the scariest BO3 casual match against a Mika (against my Ryu). Came down to the wire and I bet the farm on a DP while he was edging forward, and it paid off. I love that this game forces you to commit like that.

Anyone like to play a few games? I'm a pretty low level Mika player, so probably not much of a challenge for most of you guys, but I'm willing to play anyone and get some feedback. My CFN is LordFanny.

Honestly, I feel a lot less pressure in this game then I did in Dota. Dota matches can last from 20 min to 90 min so it's always a bit of a mental hurdle I had.

At least in this game matches are quick and painless so even if I lose, I can just get back in to it.

Alex is mid-tier, I think

He does really well in mid-range thanks to his normals and V Trigger combos do insane amounts of damage

I would not say he's worse than Gief at all

Yeah, I don't get the feeling from fighters. I think it's because in games like SC and DOTA, you can't see what you're opponent is doing at first, and they could be doing so many different things that you don't know what to prep for.

I can see the low payoff after such a long time commitment being a bit disheartening.

In games for me it's not about if I win or lose. I'll be salty either way if I played like shit during the match.

just started playing this with a fight stick and it feels so alien to me. For some reason the control stick only works on 'DP' setting and not 'LS' is that normal? its a PS3 stivk

Anyone have a link to the SFV Matchmaking thread we had here when the game launched? I can't find it, for some reason.

In my experience, I don't really use player lists to find opponents to fight at any given time, but it's good if it'll be helpful for others.

How legit is this? I currently use Alex as my main, and while I've won many matches and am beginning to handle him well, I still feel like I get my ass kicked too often by Super Bronze players and above.

Maybe I should switch characters.

Play characters you enjoy playing. Don't follow tier lists. They are entirely subjective anyway.

Well, not entirely (I mean conceptually, at this point in SFV's life they pretty much are entirely subjective), but I definitely suggest picking up a character that you personally gel with without letting tier lists influence that decision. Character specialists and exceptions are a thing, after all.

Really? I thought she was considered pretty low tier. I like playing her, but she's a very limited character it feels like.

I think she's mid or mid-high but it's just because people, especially newer players, struggle a lot against her grab mixups. Because if she gets in it turns into a game of rock, paper scissors. But you just don't let her get in :D

Skillzilla81_PS4 - Super Silver
Skillzilla81_PC - Ultra Bronze

Currently maining Ryu and Cammy, but I play a bunch of characters. Can't wait for Guile!

Also Skillzilla81 on PS4 and Steam if anybody wants to add me there. If I'm online, I'm probably up for some games. Just shoot me a message. Semester is almost over and want to start getting sets in as practice for EVO.

The feeling I get from having seen opinions of some top players is that she's generally considered fairly middling because her entire neutral game plan is about climbing a steep hill. But that all gets defenestrated when she's right in front of her opponent and that's when the Mika people love to hate appears, because that steep hill has been overcome.

The opponent's goal against her should always be to make her game plan sisyphean, pushing her back down that hill whenever they can and never, ever letting her climb to the top. Well, unless you're Zangief or maybe even Laura.

Mid to mid-high? That really surprises me to be honest.

Are we going to get more interactive stages? Bustling City Street is the only one, and I was looking forward to having more. It seemed like a selling point in early previews.
