Kinda hope Akuma counts more as a S1.5 character and infringe on anyone's chances for S2. Not a fan of the character, but I'm happy that peeps who like him will get to play as him soon!

I don't know, I personally didn't find Hakan as annoying as Rufus and El Fuerte.
And tbh, I think even if those characters showed up here they wouldn't be so bad. There really is incredibly little bullshit and frustrating elements in this game and the characters all feel unique and honest.

They were both in SF3 though so I don't see too much of an issue. I guess the only thing is that Akuma had 3 supers at any given time in that game as opposed to everyone else's 1. That most likely won't happen in SFV.

Damn guys im ready to back in to V, haven't played since Juri came out. I stopped due to Overwatch but the recent tournaments have been hype. Hopefully I can survive the grind back in.

It just looks so convenient. And quiet. And inexpensive. But I started back in arcades as a kid and always had sticks at home. I got a brooks pcb when this came out and updated one of my favorite sticks... and then it bricked in an update. So I was like fuck it I'll just get used to a pad once I get it over with it will be great. But It feels like my hands are fucking possessed I can't do shit.

You should stay with what your muscle memory got used to. Many Stick player got serious and got good while playing on the arcades. If you just got serious in fighting games on a console, you will probably play better with a pad.
Thats why we see many young players like NuckleDu and Takeuchi winning tourneys with a pad.
It's mainly what we're calling it, but Capcom has referred to the waves of content as seasons in the past.

We're just calling it that but each year will most likely have a new batch of DLC characters and stages/costumes/stuff so why not just make it simpler and refer to the year as a season.

There is no official name, the season pass is called 2016 season pass, so "Season 2" could just be called 2017 season pass.

Crossing fingers this is his V-Skill.
I could see us getting 8 characters for Season 2 since they don't have a base game to develop. Capcom managed to get 16 characters done in a year.

Playable only at Capcom Cup though, which is just a demo showing.
I think he's gonna be part of Season 2 since if it's 1, they'll have to give him up for free else Season Pass owners get shit on.
And it's incredibly likely that Season 2 will have more than 6 characters. They no longer have a base game to develop so they can probably allocate more funding towards character development as compared to before.

I haven't used my arcade stick since May. Been using a DS4. One of my main motivators was being lazy. Its easier than a stick to lug around.
But I don't know if my experience is the same. I started in the arcade, but switched to pad (PS2/psone pads) to play soul Calibur and tekken in the early 2000s. And during that time period I just used it for 3S tournaments on ps2 as well. I didn't switch back to arcade stick till sf4 in 2009.
But like others have said, it's all about muscle memory. I tried switching to a hori fight commander and it didn't work out for me. Always felt off and didn't want to put more time in to reteach my fingers.
The only reason I wanted to switch to the hori FC has because it was wired and would be easier at tournaments. I just want a wired DS4 with better triggers with no sharp edge, haha.
That all said, I might go back to stick.
