SFA3 is still one of the best 2d fighters - ever. I'm really looking forward to Capcom's PSP TGS showing. Even more so than the MGS4 or X360 presentations.

God, you guys don't know how bad I want this! Darkstalkers was the first game I picked up on PSP... But the Dpad.... is... just... terrible... for games like this. My hands cramped after a few minutes, and I could never accurately pull moves off with the diagonal directions removed. :-(

And this is the fifth time I bought the SAME game:

PSX
Dreamcast
Saturn
GBA

And now...PSP...Fuck me...

Please, please, please...Make it control better than VS (with that stupid D-PAD that works worse than anything...GC D-pad included) And include SFZ2 music/backgrounds !!!!!!!!

Hooray for really fucking horrible d-pad that simply will not create any up+left movement in any PSP software at all. =/

I guess I'll put up with the analog stick, if I pick this up.

If only it was Alpha 2.

I have once played king of fighters 100% non-legit on the PSP using the analog stick and it works better than the dpad. Kinda reminds me of the Neo Geo Pocket thumbstick in fact.

Ingrid, DeeJay, T.Hawk and Feilong aren't in the arcade version either, very interesting. I wonder if Marvel vs. Capcom is next.

Um anyoen else see t-hawk in the images?? Not to mention DeeJay, Ingrid we knew about, Yun, and a few other non-sfzero chars@!

Here i separated them out for you:

I dont remeber DeeJay in any.. nonetheless nice to know they included all of them together.
DeeJay, T-Hawk and Fei Long were in the DC port of SFA3

Alpha 3 was the best because it threw in every street fighter character at the time (psone version) where as in my opinion Alpha 2 had the best music in the series (aside from 3rd strike) now if capcom announces 3rd strike for the psp i will buy one.

Is the SFZA3 the 2D fighting game with the best animation in existence? Or would that title go to Garou, Mark of Wolves? I have only played Garou, and the quality of the character animation is sometimes really great.

No, that'd be Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike - not Alpha 3.

OK, I see, SFZAlpha is originally a CPS2 based game, and SF3 3rd Strike is Naomi based. I've just watched some videos and SF3 is clearly superior to SFAlpha3, and I agree it's even better than Garou.

SF3 isnt Naomi based, it was created on CPSIII. No other fighter out there matches SF3 on the amount of animation it has. Mark of the Wolf does come close though.

OH SHIT ! MY PENIS AM BIG!!!!!!!!!

Wait so there are SF3 characters in this!?!? They converted em from CPS3 res!? Fuuuuck!

SFA3 was definitely my favourite Street Fighter. I was looking for this title when I was at E3 but wasn't able to find it.

Actually no, this is a port of the GBA version with upped graphics that takes advantage of the PSP hardware. The GBA version featured cast from CvS2 characters which had Yun from SF3. Ingrid is the a new charater from CFJ though not found in the GBA version. Its looking pretty sweet on PSP though.

I kinda think they're not actually porting any of the GBA resources for this one ;) It's cool that they're using all the bonus characters from the GBA one tho.

I was just referring to the GBA cast of characters. I doubt they using the GBA programing codes.

He was in the DC version. All of the SF2 characters were, did you even look at a move list???? He's right their inbetween Dan and Dhalsim.

no i looked at the move faq list lol - anyway YUN wasnt in any of them.. makes you wonder who else they added from sf3

And street fighter 3 was definitley the best 2d ani fighter. The CPSIII system was basically a monster sprite pusher.. Red Earth and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure were both also on CPS3 and great animation.. good luck finding red earth though.

Eh, the GBA version had all redrawn sprites. These look like the original sprites.

I am confused as to why this is called Double Upper, though. I thought the latest arcade update of A3 was Upper, and it was ported only to the GBA. I guess this might have more gameplay tweaks instead of the obligatory extra characters.

.....look harder, try looking at a faq that was not made for the arcade or playstation......just try it you might surprise yourself.

:edit:
if you still can't find it try using the find function. (Ctrl+F)

Dee Jay, Fei Long, T-Hawk, and Guile were indeed added exclusively to the PSX port along with the World Tour mode. Then came the DC port which was basically the same but I think they added the frames of animation that were missing in the PSX version.

I didn't realize we get more characters than SFA3 PS1 version, I already remember that Guile, Deejay, Feilong, T-Hawk, Cammy were added extras in the PS1 release.

Fixed. Cammy was in the arcade version.
