Stubbs the Zombie - 1up.com review

YES!!

been waiting for this!

Stubbs is one of those rare games that manages to not only be creative and challenge many of the game industry norms, but do so within the confines of an extremely entertaining and polished game.

After reading that, I have to own it. I need to update my want list.lol

I guess some really good talent left Bungie. Didnt this studio use a new approach towards development by outsourcing alot?

great week for games next week

Fire Emblem
Shadow of the Colossus
Stubbs the Zombie
F.E.A.R.

pretty much great games for all camps besides portables :D

oh wait, Stubbs is on the 25th, dammit early review! or at least 1up.com says 10/25...ebgames says 10/17, boggle

Instead, you'll come across this stuff in-game, like a barbershop quartet security detail that sings at you with brilliant timing as you attack them,

That alone makes me want to play this game. :lol

Alexander Seropian is pretty much responsible for Bungie's once held glory. After he left, Bungie entered this downward spiral - making Halo 2 what it is today.

I'm interested, but there are far too many games coming out this time of year. In all likelihood, the only way I'll play this is if I'm able to find it at a great price sometime next year.

Sounds like the game fulfilled all the promise it had - quirky, stylish, funny and fun. Oh, and brain chomping.

Sounds awesome.

Then the Capcom 360 one.

Zombies are the new WWII. Only in a good way.

Speak for yourself. I look forward to 1000 more WW2 FPS clones. MMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm nothing better than a WW2 FPS.

Yes. I am a hypocrite. Because I am getting COD for tree-sitty too.

Then I can do a mash up in a year or so with Wolfenstein.

Yeah, that's Bungie for you. 1 game of the year win, 1 game of the year nominee, and two of the highest selling games this generation. Downward spiral.

I want Halo 3 to take place during WW2. Somehow the Master Chief and whats left of the covenant get transported through time to the battle at Normandy. There the battle can continue on and history can be rewritten.

Yeah I'll get Call of Duty 2 too. The demo is awesome. It is the only WW2 based game which can pull me in anymore. The rest can go away.

And Cortana is a spy who jumps into Hitler's brain and tricks him into shooting his brains out.

I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE

Looks like another Psychonauts. A vastly entertaining, original and humorous Western *cough* game.... that no one (save for a few of us) will give a rat's dick about. I hate you people!!!

Er, not those of you on the Psychonauts/Stubbs train, that is. I love you! XOXO

It's guaranteed some decent sales. The Halo community sites are all supporting the realse big time.

But yeah, I don't see raging success in its future. Hope I'm wrong though.

YES YES YES HAHA YES

I can't wait til the 25th when I pick this up, along with the Warriors and Spartan: Total Warrior @ that Toys R Us buy 2 get 1 free sale.

awesome. both this and shadow of the colossus will end the current gen for me on high notes. cant fucking wait!

And Psychonauts had an absolute media blitz of an ad campaign, on par with just about anything else out there short of GTA and Halo. 12K first month sales, was it? :(

Is there a blood test for stupid? Or maybe a DNA marker?

Most would kill for such a "downward spiral" :lol

You got the name wrong. Jason Jones is the name. Jason was by far more involved in actual game creation.

is good to know that :)

about the game, I was confident that the people behind H:CE would make something very good

Oh, you mean one of the best selling games of all time? Yeah, I'm sure Bungie's missing him.

Stubbs looks like an interesting title. Looks like I may be needing to buy a game soon.

Are you seriously that dumb? The people behind Halo are the ones that created Halo 2 the end.

Wideload employs veterans of the game industry, including several people who used to work at Bungie Software, developers of Halo and some other great games you are probably not cool enough to remember.

ok, obviously not everyone that worked with H:CE left Bungie, but looking at H2 makes you think how different it would be if this people stayed at Bungie.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that most of Halo 2's sales came from hype; everyone expected it to be as good as the first game. Guess what? It isn't. :)

You still dont get it. The people who left, especially Alex S werent that involved in the creation of Halo... Jason Jones is the single most important person at Bungie. Marathon and Halo are his babies.

Okay, I'll bite. When Wideload was founded, it was mentioned that five Bungie members were on board, including Seropian. Five out of over fifty - that's ten percent at best. The project lead (Jason Jones), level designer (Jaime G...something), composer (Marty O'Donnell), animators, designers and multiplayer leads all stayed. The cofounder, a few programmers and a writer left. How they constitute "the people who made Halo" while the rest of Bungie is this pack of imposters is beyone anyone who isn't smoking some wicked crack.
