Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Also on game pass.
Did they announce that the co-op was mandatory?I fucking LOVE Subnautica but what? Co-op? The whole reason I loved that game was because it was pure isolation and exploration.
Is there a VR mode for subnautica?I wish more diving games were made for VR, missed market imho.
Subnautica is f-ing awesome.
I think they announced it wasn't mandatory.Did they announce that the co-op was mandatory?

I think they announced it wasn't mandatory.
What made Below Zero worse?Subnautica 1 was awesome. Subnautica below zero was worse. I hope they'll go back to the things that made Subnautica great, isolation, a huge, beautiful but also terrifying, unknown and claustrophobic underwater world and a story that's really worth exploring.
What made Below Zero worse?
What made Below Zero worse?
As long as DMC does not rap in my ear we are good.As long as the MC does not yap in my my ear everytime i do something full im down.
Not scary and on land too much . Not a bad game but not on par with the first one .What made Below Zero worse?
Some marketing person/team probably told them it would make the game more appealing to a wider audience (i.e. it will get more sales from kids and women). Why do they focus so much on the crappy looking characters? They did the same on Below Zero. Nobody ever cared about the character in the original, all you ever saw was his shadow. Also, co-op?
They completely miss the point of why the original was so great once again.
I partially disagree.Cringe walking simulator type of dialogue and Disney type of humor, far worse atmosphere, nothing new gameplay wise, worse map. I bet most of the good employees bailed out, they truly didn't understand what made the first game great
Yep and it was on gamepass, hope the same is true here.Is there a VR mode for subnautica?
Could I SURVIVE playing in VR in the depths???????
I partially disagree.
I think the smaller map made it easier to navigate with clear landmarks and it was better designed in terms of the environment than the first one, as well.
There was new gameplay, the part on land, but that one sucked, I agree.
Also, from my understanding below zero was more of an expansion than a new entry.
I hope they'll go back to the things that made Subnautica great.
Yep. Starting to wonder if ye'old abrasive, infantile 'division' of modern yore have the reins nowawful in so many ways
It was less scary. And the above ground areas weren't convincing. What made Below Zero worse?
It looks the exact same as the first?Skeptical about:
a) the cartoony look they are going for
That last imagine is encouraging to say the least. Will be putting this in my "cautiously optimistic" pileHere are some screenshots:

I thought the same way but looked at the history of the other games and they had some pretty neat stuff that was added and removed through patches. Could be fun to try the different stuffIt looks the exact same as the first?
Subnautica 2 Early Access Arrives in 2025, Expected To Last "2 to 3 Years"

The one thing I didn't like about Subnautica was the base building. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it felt like a 3D checklist of attachments I needed to make to progress. It didn't seem like it rewarded placement or creativity when building it. I'm hoping they improve on this aspect for 2.All the base building and resource gathering is great.
Yeah, regardless of how it worked as a base, the design and control system for actually building it was just a mess. I'd almost rather there be specific locations that could support larger bases and the only "free placement" stuff was smaller, easier to manage outposts. They also need to REALLY streamline resource gathering and storage for construction. I know thats a certain type of appeal to the autistic survival game lovers but at least make it an option to have a larger autostorage system instead of cabinets scattered across bases and all over the place for stacking stuff. The one thing I didn't like about Subnautica was the base building. I agree with all of this. I'd also like to see base building mirror a game like Rust in concept...as in a poorly designed base can result in a more difficult player experience. Something like a base attachment "auto catching" nearby fish/life. That would make for deciding where to build it more interesting for the player.Yeah, regardless of how it worked as a base, the design and control system for actually building it was just a mess.
