Im moving again, and as I pack my shit up for a block down the street move to my new 1 bed 1 bath apartment, I do still think moving sucks. Sure its not as far as my last move from Arizona, but there's something about uprooting your life posessions and putting them somewhere else.

I mean today alone I found

2 boxes of clothes I didnt know I had.

The closet had flooded just a little *awesome*

Some old cd from my girlfriend *argh*

DUST AND SNEEZING AND COUGHING.

A papercut.

Thankfully I have some friends to help me with the process but moving sucks.

Im sure most of you have at least done it once, sound off!

Since I moved out of my parents' house 10 years ago I've moved five times. Hefty bags, man. They're cheap, there's little they can't carry and you just throw 'em away when you're done.

I bought a 6 pack of staples economy file boxes, now thats the way to go. Ive moved a lot (az to nd, nd to oh, oh to az, az to tx, tx to wa, local wa move, wa to az, az to wa, local wa move) and it is never fun

The place I'm living in now is the only place I've lived in for longer than 2 years, and I'm 28. I think the main reason I've stayed this long is that I fucking hate moving(that and it's dirt cheap).

I made it a habit to throw out/give away like half my shit everytime I moved, too.

You know what sucks just as much? When you have your place painted. You have to pack up all your shit just to put it right back a couple days later. At least when you move, you accomplish something.

My favorite part about moving is, in the heart of College Town USA, everyone moves at the same time. That means for the few of us who stay in our apartments for more than a year, there's plenty of nice furniture being tossed out, because they either don't have room in the new place or don't have enough space in whatever vessel they're packing with their life belongings.

In other words, dumpster diving, but not really, since it's next to the dumpster and not in it. I got a nice desk yesterday, one that I'm actually using right now. Thanks ex-neighbor!

The good news: the wife and I hired movers for this weekend's move.

The bad news: it's necessary because I just had an appendectomy and am not allowed to lift >10lbs.

Maybe next time I'll get to have the movers, but no organ removal. THEN it will be the perfect move. At least I don't have to lug my appendix over to the new apartment! That'll be a real space-saver.
