seven swans is just left overs from various things, but it's still a strong record. anyway illnois is the best one so far though he's about two horns way from being another danialson famile album, which would pretty sad.

I loved Michigan too. I've heard a live version of Chicago so far but that's about it (though it's fantastic). Can't wait to hear the rest of this.

My first impression was fairly accurate. I can't see myself caring about any further output from Sufjan unless he tries something new. The 50 State thing is a joke.

i think the problem is the whole thing is way too damn long...michigan has only 12 songs, pretty much all of which i consider good, but illinois has fucking 22, and even if there's 12 good songs, that's still only half the album.
