Is Katana performing seppuku in one of the shots?

Looks like it but the sword also seems sheathed as well. Like Blasian said, I'm hoping she doesn't die.

They're... sigh... they're not... it's pointless arguing with you, I know, but Marvel's been anything but safe in the past 7 years. Are the movies narratively similar on a structural level? Sure. Doesn't stop them being tonally diverse and interesting to watch though.

They're not tonally diverse. Some are a little better than others, though. Marvel's played it safe. They need to do something different too. Not dark and twisted like this DC thing, but they really need to change things up a bit and allow the creators a bit more freedom.

Anyway, back on topic, there's a thin line between fun and chaotic looniness and calculated, pretentious edgy-bait.. so far this seems to do well, but it's all for naught if it simply ends in a big physical battle at the end to solve everything.

I'm sorry, but every single line of dialogue in that trailer is just... flat and on-the-nose.

And presumably this was their pick of punchy one-liners for marketing purposes. People are jizzing themselves over the Joker for delivering that clunker of a line? Really? There is none of the Joker's wry humor or menace, it's just a typical sociopath thing to say. Where is this Joker..?

I like the cast but this trailer paints the movie as run-of-the-mill fan fiction. The screen writer's pedigree is not inspiring me with confidence either.

Just from the trailer Margot's Harley Quinn seems like it might be the best version of her ever (obviously we'll have to see).

As someone who has never cared for the character, she already seems like the best version ever.

I liked Jai in Spartacus, but everyone here seems to hate him. I haven't seen him in anything else.

He is a pretty bad actor with the most generic face I've ever seen in a movie.

Surprised I'm saying this based on the initial impressions but.....I'm sorta lovin this trailer. The song and the editing just works. Well done, let's see it translate to the final product 🙏

Trailer did nothing for me. The music was so distracting and annoying. Harley seems well done but Leto joker seems boring and samey.

Looks dope as I expected. We should get another trailer later explaining what the movie is actually going to be about.

This is like a teaser trailer or something?

Looks really cool. I'm on board with this version of the Joker. The lame pics that came out seem like a distant memory now after watching the 5-10 seconds he's in this trailer for. Stoked!!!

doesn't look angled to be a seppoku, and I doubt they'd show that in the trailer. It looks like she's crying. Maybe she's just killed someone she wish she hadn't? Looks like she's putting her sword back in the scabbard.

It's probably her flashback shot. IIRC her katana was actually her brother in laws sword
called Soultaker, that he'd used to kill her husband and family. The sword basically trapped her husbands soul inside it. She stole the sword and managed to escape the brother in law and then she used it to be a hero.

Didn't Ayer rewrite the whole thing? Is Marks even credited?

Really dont like the Jokers "face". Robbie is perfect for Quinn though.

Other than that a little meh on the whole thing TBH. Maybe its not the best trailer.

Harley!!!!!!

Who is the girl in the construction hat that was in a tunnel or something? She was later in the trailer as well. Familiar actress but who is she supposed to be?

Yeah, the trailer really is something else. The song choice is perfect. Works well with the editing.

That final shot of the whole team, with that last haunting line of "the joke was on me..." Like it's sad, it's creepy, and just makes it look like these guys are all just so fucked (which will really upset me if Katana bites the dust...)

Harley!!!!!!

Looks like Enchantress (played by Cara Delevingne) before she goes completely nuts and actually becomes a villain.

Comic-Con trailer. I mean the movie is still over a year away.

So I kinda liked it, and why am I the only one who can divorce Will Smith from the role he is playing?

I am totally getting the deadpool vibe, family man does some shit trying to redeem himself.

Also Leto, I dunno, would love to see some more of him in the role, but lets face it this was supposed to be a sizzle trailer to amp up the crowds at SDCC, not necessarily a polished trailer.

Thumbs (cautiously) up.

I regularly say I'm sick of superhero movies, but I'm looking forward to this one, especially after seeing the trailer. Then again, I guess it's a super villain movie.

I'm a Leto fan and like what I saw from him in the trailer.

Really digging the trailer. I almost want this movie to just have one trailer, and then the movie comes out. I really do not want to know anything else!

Everyone in this movie will probably be dead in the end except Harley and Joker. That is how they will build them up to be in future movies like the new Batman and/or Justice League. Why else would they make this film part of the DCCU? There will have to be something to carry over. I don't think the
Joker killing Robin
stuff is enough to make it all worthwhile.

Not sure how people are going to react to the Harley torture. Will probably be lambasted.

I'm not even playing devil's advocate, I'm dead serious.

The music in trailer, is it of any relevance to anything from comics, or just a "normal" song used for the trailer?

And.. what is the song? ;)
