I don't understand what Japanese females like about that body structure.
The proportions aren't too bad in Free! though; the way the muscles of the upper bodies are drawn bothers me more.
Is it just the Japanese?

But I definitely agree. It's like they tried too hard and ended up with a bunch of lines that don't anatomically make sense.

If the point of this anime was to get my interest it certainly did.
Unfortunatly i'm not even sure that we'll get the rest of the story ( and there is some work left to do )
The last episode was well done and the fight was intresting , somewhat fitting for a finale.
Unfortunatly i just can't accept kadowaki motives , his attitude or his actions ..everything felt forced.
We also didn't have nearly enough time on the other side.
When i think just how much data they skipped to reach those 12 eps , and only so much has been done, i can't help but wonder
Overall arata kangatari wasn't a bad anime , it's actually alright as a fantasy anime. it's just that 12 eps aren't remotely enough for the kind of scale of events they had to tell. This should have been a 2-cour at least.
I'd give it a 7/10 because they tried

Agreed. The OP has a terrible song and visually is an uninteresting example of the "Here are the main characters" kind of OP. But the ED has a creative concept executed stylishly.
It looks like the anime equivalent of Rob Liefeld muscles.
In all its 360p glory when the page feels like loading.
That reminds me of the time Wargaming.net (World of Tanks developers) sent a functional Hetzer to E3 2011. I'm still surprised that they did this, but it's within the realm of possibility.
So this is a Anime Expo stunt? Think they'll do anything for Otakon?

This is Anime Expo. And idk about Otakon don't think they have spotted anything like it but tank props are easier to get around AX than they are with Otakon.
