Oh nice, thank you for sharing.Firehawk12 has a blog. It is good.
I recognize most of the posts. This is a good way to go.

Never watched it. Because I heard it was a shitty movie . I laugh 99% of the time at the western world idea of what my country is like nowadays. If you really want to rustle my jimmies though spell it "Columbian".You are colombian and I dont remember if I ever asked you what you think of the movie Colombiana
Hmm. I just had an idea. I'm on Tumblr, maybe I could create a new blog to collect such posts. Ideally, it would be great if posters such as Mature could have a blog themselves to keep track of such things.Part of the issue is it's really discouraging for some to put that time and effort in only to see it buried200700 posts later by dumb shit. How many people read Mature's GE999 post? How many responded?
Same.I just want to chime in and, even though I didn't respond, I appreciated and loved reading Jintor's Cowboy Bebop Blu-ray experience in the last thread.
I mean, the anime has some real pacing problems during the adaptation but I think a number of problems lie with the original writer, Togashi. I really get the impression that the didn't have any kind of 'game plan' for the arc and it just kind of got out of control, a clear example of that is with Gyro. Gyro gets a huge chunk of time dedicated to his backstory and then is removed from the arc. I'm pretty sure the idea would have been to bring him back in later as an important figure but I guess Togashi changed his mind and now it's just a giant dangling plot thread.
There was a particularly good one about one of the mecha series he was watching - I can't quite remember its title, but it dealt with the (positive) portrayal of a female character in the show I believe, quite lengthy. Trying to search for it but it's kinda difficult to find.

Wow, I have readers. lolFirehawk12 has a blog. It is good.
Your post is hard to read. I know, I shouldn't complain since I am not a word wizard myself, but I have the feeling that you sentence could use commas.I feel obligated to discourage people who feel that all posts are equal or that community threads should automatically be filled with low content stuff with people just exchanging braindead chatter or stream of consciousness stuff.
That's a nice idea. Everyone get a blog and we make a lil blog network where everyone can save his precious posts for eternity.Hmm. I just had an idea. I read it but I didn't respond because I've never seen it and I'm not interested in it. I mean not every anime impression post gets a response. It could simply be that everyone on at that time just wasn't interested in that anime and there's nothing wrong with that.
Simply because one writes up a full length essay impression that doesn't entitle that person to a response from others in the thread. To note plenty of other long winded impressions get responses as well.

And of course it shouldn't just be a chatbox, but really, a simple sentence like "guys, don't get of track, please" would be more effective than passive aggressive and non passive complaining. When that happens we enter a meta discussion that isn't really on topic either. That's a nice idea. Everyone get a blog and we make a lil blog network where everyone can save his precious posts for eternity.

I honestly thought you were screwing with me and Google'd the picture and sure enough. I just can't believe his editors just accepted that as well. No, you know what I get why they accepted it, because he's at a high enough level they wouldn't question him too much.

I wasn't interested in it. I can understand that it can be frustrating, but this is a forumthread, a community thread even. If one wants his posts not to vanish after a few hours, one should get a blog.
Let's get something straight: I don't write up impressions of shows or movies so that I can draw the spotlight on myself; if I wanted that, I'd just post in all caps and regurgitate meme's and reaction gifs. Narag was using my post to illustrate a point: people aren't content with the level of discourse here because any attempt at it is washed away by one sentence posts of— to use Duckroll's eloquent wording— braindead chatter. I mean, some of the 'discussion' lately has been bad. Really bad. Anime club bad. I never want this place to turn into an elite club of snobs, but a standard does have to be kept.I did by telling him he's not guaranteed a response just because he posts something. And Chariot's right, if he doesn't want his post getting buried or overlooked then he needs to get a blog.
Barakamon - Episode 3-4
Much better than the second episode. Some of the jokes can still be a little overbearing at times, but that's also part of the tone for the show. I like how the episodes are focusing more on the country life now and showing its impact on the character. There stories in these episodes were pretty good too. There's a good mix of different types of personalities and stuff. I'll definitely like to see more stuff like the manga artist story and the stray cats one. Having little insights into what makes certain people tick is definitely one of the things I like most about laid back countryside settings.
Has that chapter been covered in the anime yet? I've missed some episodes here and there and I'm curious to see how they would have handled it or just had a bunch of still shots with the narrator talking over them.Even THAT even him at his worst. There's a chapter that is ALL text.

oh hey, i'm not the only one who was kinda meh on the second episode. hooray!

I think a number of people were. I remember Hosanna being the first to mention it felt off. Jexhius also felt that way iirc. It really felt like an episode which tried way too hard to run one on-going joke into the ground. The lack of progression in terms of developing the lead getting accustomed to life in the country also made it a very strong second episode in a series. If they cut the entire episode out, I don't think we would have really noticed.

hm, guess my quick search of previous episode impressions wasn't thorough enough. one of my main complaints with it was how quickly the one kid's character seemed to develop; we were introduced to him five minutes prior and then he's crying about working harder.
Kokoro Connect 04-05
Holy hell this show is insidiously dark. I mean this episode it's only a small step away from going into fucked up territory. It still kinda is but had Iori died here, damn.
And here's the weird thing, I was actually hoping it would go down that road because it would've drastically changed their situation and I was kinda wondering what would happen if...
That said, one could certainly call it cheap going this sudden route of character death. It's just that I think it wouldn't have felt quite as cheap because the episode was executed really, really well.
Either way, even with Iori living now, there's still plenty consequences of this dark interlude, particularly because everyone had a hearty one-to-one talk with Iori. The situation between Taichi, Iori and Inaba is especially tangled.
Oh and I really need to praise this show for how well it pulls of the creepy and ominous vibe with that somewhat omnipotent 'spectator' character. I mean after this episode it doesn't seem like he's as badly intended as could've been but man... The sudden personality swap following the love confession..., good stuff. The manner of this spectator with his calm, very slow talking, the kind of information he does and does not provide as well as being physically powerful. It's really scary.

As to using that lewd dog as my avatar that others suggested, AW hell naw.

I'm well aware that I'm guilty of my own fair share of stupid shit as well but I find myself disappointed it's currently at a point where people want Corvo to run with some schtick he's tired of for their own amusement while people don't understand how this has actually grown to bother him or how it's grown more difficult to learn about more obscure works because those that might share such feel it's not worth the effort to have their post simply buried outright, essay length or not.
I feel obligated to discourage people who feel that all posts are equal or that community threads should automatically be filled with low content stuff with people just exchanging braindead chatter or stream of consciousness stuff.
People read this stuff but dont always respond. Gotta remember that there are also lurkers and people just wont always respond to a lengthy post because they dont have anything additional to say about it. It doesnt mean nobody is reading it. For all you know somebody was super impressed with the post and printed it out and hung it on their wall.
Well, I just made one. I'll post a link if I decide that it is something I really want to put effort into. Of course I would want it to be a community effort, and Tumblr blogs can have multiple admins and contributors.I'm surprised some lurker never made this happen.
The thing about Barakamon is it's not following the manga faithfully so there are some things that feel off, i.e.In the hospital scene where the glasses girl was fuming the audience was not aware of her "hatred" for yaoi whereas in the manga that hospital scene happened after her encounter with Handa in ep.3
You know I get where you're coming from. And sorry if you think I was trying to poo-poo your concerns because that wasn't my intent. I freely admit to being pot and kettle with some of the meta posting that goes on around here at times. Easy to get caught up in the moment I guess.I'm aware of this as I read this thread as well. However, it comes up again and again off-site in that long time posters find themselves disinterested in the current culture of the thread due to a handful of people deciding it'd be fun to race cajunator or to consistently go off-topic under the pretense it's a community thread and thus should be allowed to do so with complete disregard of the pre-existing community's sentiment.
It's doubly frustrating that some people don't even feel like it's worth the effort to voice any complaint about the direction it's gone and would rather simply segregate the community so this could continue unabated, no longer their problem. When I first found this community, I thought it was novel in that it contained a wide breadth of posters of varying tastes that all posted together. Sure, there was often disagreement about the quality of what was airing and that's to be expected yet it still maintained some semblance of community. It helped get me back into a hobby I'd long since lapsed from and, in turn, helped better my own tastes as I was introduced to works outside of my own comfort zone.

It's bothersome to see some posters leave the thread and not entirely be sure if it's because of the current climate or simply disinterest in the hobby. It's tiresome to see constant zero-content posts when I know these same people could write something worthwhile and I hate that it affects my perception of the poster rather than the posts.
I guess in the end it really sucks to see a community diminished just so people can shit out posts in the name of community itself.
Hmm, guess that means at some point I probably did watch one of those adapted chapters then. Maybe that's why the narrator use was so heavy in the Chimera Ant arc.Don't know if we're thinking of the same chapter, but there are multiple text heavy chapters in both the Chimera Ant Arc and the arc going now that will not be adapted.
You do know that I was semi-joking(although I did immensely enjoy some of his reaction posts)?

I think everyone enjoyed them at some point or another, they just lose their luster when they're expected all the time and the posts he actually put some work into get glossed over, I think. I know he was tentative about that ZZ post he made, thinking it was too long or irrelevant, but that one thankfully had some feedback.

Yea I need to learn how to cut back on some of my own longer posts actually.
Going on a holiday. Can't see his GTO episode impressions now, but them's the breaks. What happened to Chariot?
I still enjoyed ep 2 of Barakamon but it was really tonally jarring when compared to the really strong opening episode.
I think this is a great idea. I've thought about going back and reading specific posts by people, but just trying to find them is a bit of a struggle. I'd be more than willing to help update it if it's needed.Well, I just made one. I'll post a link if I decide that it is something I really want to put effort into.
