So I went to iTunes to try and download some of their stuff to check them out. I get shit back in my search! What kind of music store is that? I got back "Hello Sunshine (Radio Edit) and "Dreamy Days SFA Dub"

Enjoy Bell Woods -- and I know you're reading this -- how the hell do I get into these guys if I can't legally get their music?

This band is horrible. They're probably worse than most of the shit played on Clear Channel stations. Yeah, that's right, they may even be worse than Bowling for Soup. I wish I were kidding.

I mean, would you take a look at these guys?

Yeah man, you play that gimmick for all its worth!

What perverts. I hear their songs are about molesting puppies and kittens.

In all honesty, I don't know where to go for legal SFA downloads. I'm guessing Napster or something may offer them. SFA is on a major (Sony), so it's surprising their songs aren't on iTunes.

Look! It's Neil Young, Warren Haynes, John Tesh & Friends, live and in concert! :lol

It's probably not going to help you other than having easy-to-listen-to samples, but I'm sure they'll probably be easy to find on the UK iTunes store...

I wish the libraries were generally the same country-to-country.

Ah yes, if I switch to the UK store I can find them. I didn't even know you could switch stores until right now. :lol

Ok I guess I should with "Rings Around The World". What songs are the best on here?

Fuck : "Your id is only valid for purchases from the Canadian store" What the hell good is that??? My Canadian money ain't good on the UK store? Fuckin iTunes.

Never heard of this band but these dudes must get so damn sweaty performing in those costumes. Thats pure torture.

Just so you guys know, the costume thing is just a bit of a thing they did at the end of their shows during their last tour. They don't actually tour as super furry animals - they're not a gimmick; it was just a bit of fun.

I'm excited to see what they do with the new tour. Apparently they'll be dressed as something "more avant garde than robots."

I downloaded a song of theres from a yousendit link in a thread somewhere here.. "The Man Don't Give a Fuck", a live bootleg of it. I didn't like the song much, but there was some really awesome techno stuff going toward the end. Getting their album now.. :P

well then you won't be buying any SFA cds anytime soon.
:lol

Anyway, screw legal downloads. If you can't get it any other way, just get Radiator or RATW off of soulseek.

Enjoy.

Purchase.

Repeat.

That's the only legal song of theirs I can find online (fortunately it's also awesome :)). Sorry I couldn't be of any more help.

Regardless, it isn't that representative of their sound. There's a lot of electronic stuff on all of their albums, excluding Fuzzy Logic (their debut), so it does show that aspect off. There really isn't any one way to categorize the band's sound, really. Cian Ciaran, the computer/keyboard/guitarist guy, is really great.

Their album Guerrilla is titled that way because the band intended it to be an underground attack on pop music. It's a pretty insane album and definitely their most eclectic. Not the best place to start, although it's where I started.

And Ford, the guitar part at the end of Zoom is probably the most impressive one either Bunf or Gruff has ever played. It's basically the last minute and a half of the song, and I understand that's where all of the choir and stuff is. But if you saw them live, you'd see they extend some of the songs. Calimero and The Man Don't Give a Fuck both have pretty awesome guitar parts.

SFA-OK!

I finally got myself a copy of the DVD songbook the other day. Yay and somesuch.

As for legal downloads, how about live stuff off of Soulseek? Is that illegal? How about using yousendit? I was never clear about what's so illegal about downloading mp3s. The downloading, the sharing, the massive sharing, or the listening?

Well I guess I downloaded the wrong album then (Furry Logic). I was expecting electronic music like that awesome 25 minute one I heard. This shit sucks :/

Excellent news about the guitarwork; can't wait.

A full mp3 of The Citizen's Band used to be available on the official site, but since it's been down it's no longer available. Too bad; that's one of their best.
