Super Mario 64 DS boxart from Gamestop - real or not?

The IGN video of the first level looks really good.
I assume it has improved since, too.

That will more than get the job done, I think.

Wow you're right, I never saw the video where they are playing on the monitors. People who say this looks like a PS1 game, don't know what they are talking about. The character models and frame rate put it well ahead of M64, and there doesn't appear to be any major texture warping.

Also, I think the box art looks good.

So are these boxes going to be cardboard, or more in the vein of DVD cases? Do we know?

Judging by what Nintendo had on display at E3, it appears they are going to be like mini-DVD cases.

Box art is fake if you ask me. The silver "DS" on the mario 64 ds box appears to have white aliasing around the edges, and besides that it's silver. Nowhere on the Nintendo DS logo or packaging does the "DS" part appear in stroke/gradient silver.

The difference between the Gamestop "mockups" and this one is that the prior ones weren't really mockups so much as they were a logo and a fake NDS logo to give you an idea of what the title was. These have actual effort. Perhaps made by a different editor of the online catalogue.

How could something believe this to be legit? The DS letters look so pasted into the logo it's not even funny. And the boxart as a whole screams quick photoshop job.

If it is for real, Kiriku will cry.

Last I checked, the GBA was the only system to have a game called Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3. Curse Nintendo and its naming loopholes!

Intrestingly, GameStop just updated the previously posted Super Mario 64 boxart into this

I guess it's "uh-oh" to Mr. GameSpot Web Designer for leaking the real package and name too early.

It would be cool if Nintendo was more consistent with this. As the SNES version of Yoshi's Island had the prefix "Super Mario World 2" and Super Mario World was also known as "Super Mario Bros. 4" in Japan, there should be a game now called
Super Mario Bros. 5: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3

PS: Yoshi's Story confirmed for GBA (?!): http://www.nintendo.com/gamemini?gameid=m-Game-0000-796&

Why wouldn't the Super Mario Bros. suffix advance? It should be Super Mario Bros. 5: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3

Yoshi's Story has been on the their site since the Advance series was first announced. It still hasn't been confirmed. If it happens it would be "Super Mario Bros. 6: Super Mario World 3: Yoshi's Island 2: Yoshi's Story: Super Mario Advance 5"

I guess the guy didn't have the time to do everything between getting fired and escorted out of the building. Nintendo must be annoyed as hell. I would be if some online store leaked my stuff.

Yoshi's Story was announced pre launch by Nintendo of America (as were Super Metroid & Pokemon Puzzle League btw)... YS was in the works but eventually became Yoshi's Universal Gravitation, a new platform game using the tilt sensor for movement.

Indeed. It's clever--but Super Mario 64 DS is the better name as far as actually, you know, SELLING THE PRODUCT goes.

By the way, thanks to all the people who didn't think this was real; you made my week. Actually, no, Balloon Trip made my week; you just helped it along.
