Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

does anyone know explicitly how focusattack.com's point system works? saturday I need to buy 2 jlfs 2 balltops and 10 buttons - can I split my order up to save money via the point system?

Don't see why not, though you'd be paying shipping twice, so it probably wouldn't be worth it.

Hm, might try one as well. Would those fit in the MadCatz SFxT (a.k.a Pro) models?

It's a drop-in replacement for a JLF. thw width is a tiiiiiiny bit wider, but it fits exactly as it should onto the same mounting plate and holes, uses the same screws to hold it on and the harness is oriented exactly the same way.

Took an old MadCatz SE stick and gave it a complete facelift. In addition to replacing the old art, I added in a new Sanwa stick (with 2 lb spring and Kowal actuator) and silenced buttons. I don't use this as my main stick, so I figured it would be fun to experiment with it and try out all of these little modifications. This is first time I've ever modded a fightstick, so it's still admittedly a little rough.

Nice! The Kowal actuator makes a big positive difference on Sanwa sticks IMO.

For those wondering if you can do this, you have to wait 24 hours after placing an order before you get your points. I haven't looked at the rewards yet and maybe they're really good, but you wouldn't be able to compound it with, say, a 6 hour sale.

We put one of these into each of our JLFs at work. One of the sticks was having weird issues hitting diagonals and I'd rather just have both sticks using the same hardware so we replaced both actuators. The difference in throw is actually fairly noticeable. If I were ever forced to go JLF again I'd definitely be putting one in.

I got a Fighting Edge in the mail last night. Problem is, there's a scratch on the home button that's driving me nuts.

Does anyone happen to know if other Hori sticks use the same sized home button?

I really like the look of the Madcatz branded TE2.

Same here. I might hold off for that one.

Hey Markman, will the MadCatz branded one be the non-special edition model available in regular non-limited quantities here in the US?

Is there a US release date planned?

So with my PS3 dead due to YLOD, I'd like to mod my TE stick to use on other platforms. Any suggestions on the best options out there? Being able to support as many as possible would be ideal.

Guess I'll hold off on the Hori if we're getting the Xrd stick in December

I think I'd much rather put a hayabusa stick on a TE2 than change out all my buttons on the HRAP4

Hey I just started trying to learn skullgirls on pc with a ps3 pad. I am not yet set on it and only used it for like 2 hours. Been thinking of making the plunge into a fightstick. I know it won't make me better right away and I have to relearn everything but I feel up to the challenge.

Mad Catz Fightstick Pro is what I have been looking at any other suggestions and or tips for a fightstick noob?

So the bottom row of buttons of my Eightarc Ebony Fusion are randomly not working and working again. Any idea why this might happen?

So is the Hori Real Arcade Pro V4 the only commercial stick with PS4 support? And apart from that theres the apparently extremely difficult DS4 padhack or the upcoming (possibly be years end?) Mad Catz USF IV TE2?

I believe these are the only sticks announced so far for NA:

Madcatz USF4 TE2
Madcatz Persona 4 Arena Ultimax TE2
Madcatz Guilty Gear Xrd TE2
Hori Real Arcade Pro V4 (should be coming out next week )

Was hoping there might be a single decent one announced I hadnt heard off ;) Not a fan of the the TE2 body, though at least the GG one looks half way decent. Might grab the HRAP.

GAF, I'm eyeing an HRAP v4 to use on the PS4, and so far the biggest (and only) bad thing I found about it is the compartment door.

I never owned Hori sticks before (nor a stick with compartment doors, really. I only have a VSHG). Is the door really that bad? Can one live without it - as in, is it manageable to keep the cable inside it with the compartment open?

They're bad, but nothing you can't keep track of. I have several hori sticks and haven't lost or broken the compartment door on mine.

Has anyone here who pre-ordered The PS4 Hori RAP, on Amazon, received a shipment e-mail yet? With today being the release day and it currently having a status of "Temporarily out of stock", I'm wondering if anyone here snagged one on the first batch?

Posted this in the pick-up thread but figured I'd share here as well. Just picked up this little guy:

Plan on using it for PS1/2 and Dreamcast.

That's pretty rad

It might be the PCB or the connectors themselves.

How much did you get it for? :(

I like these little things. Small enough to travel without any hassle and they work pretty well despite not being arcade spec.
