Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

Is the plexi on all TE2 suppose to be loose and wobble?

Yeah, don't worry, your stick is fine. All of them appear to be like that including my own. You kind of get used to it or you can just remove it. The artwork comes off as well, there's only a small amount of adhesive holding it on. Either way, your stick is fine and they're all like that.

Anyone ever make their own stick? I'm looking at writing software for and building my own with an arduino, was wondering if there's any tips for me.

It should have all of the same functions of the stock controller at the very least. That's my main disappointment with the new Mad Catz PS3/4 TE2s.

All of the gamepad's buttons should be there in some form, IMO on the main controller line being offered. Now if they want to make an alternate stripped-down version, that's fine, but it should be an alternate option.
What buttons are they missing? The only thing I can think of that the te2s don't have are the analog sticks...

Face buttons, triggers, bumpers, dpad, back, start, guide.

Quick question, I'm making the plunge and getting a ps4 and TE2 soon. I prefer using the Hayabusa stick, I have one in my Qanba Q4, but the Hayabusa is a really tight fit in that, and I had to do some monkeying to make it work.

Looking at the pictures of the TE2, it looks like it has enough room, but I haven't found any pictures or anyone saying how the Hayabusa fits in it (unless I just missed it). Anyone here know? Just want to know what I'm looking at before I order.

Some games do actually use L3/R3 for some things, even f just for resetting during training mode. The PS4 touchpad click button is used for a lot of stuff.
Ah, yeah I've had to deal with annoyances like that before, especially in trial/challenge modes where another button is used for toggling the required inputs, etc.

Yeah, in Injustice the touchpad is used to reset position in training mode. In DoA5U, R3 is used to show a sample of the moves in training mode.

Small things, but sucks that I don't get all of the features I do on a pad.

Xrd lets you remap every button function to another button, so it's okay. If more games did that, there'd be less of an issue.

As an aside, I Iove that Dragon's Lair picture.

And if you could ask you parents if they would like to adopt a 45 year old Englishman, that would be great.

Thank you.

I sent my Mother a capture of your post and it made her chuckle. Being the only boy, with two older sisters, I would welcome an older brother. ;-)

Cheers!

The Hayabusa will fit fine.

The stick is killing me, my right hand is not fast enought, atm I train Noel in BBCP and her 8th challenge mission is my curse, my cleanest try is 16 frames slover that CPU demo and I use double jump instead of single one. Any tips??? I've tryed different grips and Daigo style is the most comfortable for me.

I want to jump on the Xrd stick, or any of the TE2's for ps4 I suppose as soon as possible.....is following the the mad catz twitter account the best way to find out as soon as they become available again?

Finally got my TGS TE2 imported, time to start grinding that Xrd yasss

Yes. I'll post here too well in advance.

but it's $200. how fast will it go LOL

Super fast, likely. They're expensive, but fans of arcade sticks are a group with deep pockets and love of new toys. The P4A one is sold out and it doesn't even come out until the end of the month. The USF4 TE2 presold out as well. RAP4s have been scarce for over a month and those dropped in September. Combine that with Xrd just coming out and SF5 announced exclusive, and...yeah. Better snap one up quick.

I'll wait until EVO to get my 2nd one. :) I ended up just getting an empty shell I had padhacked. I'm set for PS4 games.

I guess my question for Mad Catz is once these sell out, what's going to be left on the market for the PS4? Will there be a dead space of several months before there are any plain Mad Catz ones available?

I'm also wondering if the TE2 is going to be the defacto Mad Catz for the forseeable future or if there will be any revisions that add additional button functionality.

I can't even think of anything that could be added to the TE2 at that point.

Touchpad click primarily. It's the PS4's de facto 'Select' button since 'Share' took its spot. Also L3/R3 functions like on the Hori sticks. It's discussed a few posts prior.

Edit:
Just saw this one SRK where someone emailed Hori about their US plas for the DOA5LR stick, and this was their response:
In regards, unfortunately we do not have plans of releasing this product here in the US. However, we will be releasing a newly designed model of the PS4/PS3 Real Arcade Pro Hayabusa in February which also features a touch pad.

Hm, I was gonna try for the Xrd one today, as I prefer MadCatz, but I may have to wait and see as a lot of these products seem to be in flux.

We will have more in stock of the USF4 one in late Feb./early March time frame.

Any other TE2s tomorrow?

The Xbox 360 Ultra SF4 TE2 is now in stock. As is the Xbox One one.

lol Hori promo stay losing. Why do you have to email cats in their marketing department to find out whats coming down the pipeline in only a month's time?

I bought a TE2 and have replaced the level with a hayabusa without issues.

however, i've replaced the buttons with gamerfinger buttons and they're very loose; i can easily rotate most of the buttons after they've been installed.

Is there any way to fix this? I made sure to attach that plastic ring taht comes with the stock buttons to my gamerfinger ones.

They really are awful. MarkMan does a better job of hyping their products than they do. He should be collecting two paychecks.

Now my cart is empty :(, i did it immediately after it popped up.

edit: now i have 2 lol, i'll just wait this out and hope i got one.

Yeah I don't want to fuck it up by doing anything like hitting back or opening another page on the site. Still doing the death spiral.

I can't even get a shipping option. :/
Well RIP.
Also when I set the pricing to Canadian it shows up as $219 USD... so does that mean i'm paying an extra $20 and also eating the bad exchange rate?
