Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

Looks like you will need to get different Bios. The Japanese Bios almost work with any board, and work with basically every GD-Rom game if you pick one of those up. You can usually find them pretty cheap on eBay.

I actually didn't even have a game in at the time (don't own any yet lol), so I figured the error was from that.

Either way, I have a 21576H EPROM on the way so I should be good.

I was able to snipe one of those Mad Catz TE2 SF4 sticks on amazon last week and it arrived today. So far I'm very pleased with the stick. I'm wondering if or when new side panels would be for sale? I would like to swap out the blue for black. I didn't see any on the store except for the old TE1.

So let me get this straight. PDP has just released a cross-platform Xbox 360/Xbox One compatible controller for MK X, but yet Mad Catz cannot release an arcade stick with the same features as they've done for PS3/PS4?

MarkMan?

Just got a HRAP 4 Kai today!

Impressions:

Wow, the USB compartment door is flaky!

The Kuro buttons squeak occasionally, but otherwise feel like HRAP3 buttons.

The stick may be louder than the HRAP3.

Axillary button placement sucks. While it may be prettier, Having the sub buttons on the side is annoying, especially since they stuck the HOME button inbetween L3 and R3. This is actually really annoying because I used those buttons, AND select, in Blazblue's Training and Challenge modes, quite a bit.

The reassign feature is underdeveloped. Only 3 of the buttons can have their assignments changed, and only one of them at a time can be assigned, as far as I can tell. (Note, instructions for reassignment are terrible.) I wish I could assign buttons to the touch pad on front; that would be easier to hit when resetting in training mode.

I think I may have liked my old HRAP3 better, but that's dead now. At least this one looks slicker, if nothing else.

Found a local store that has these in stock. I think I'm going to pick one up tomorrow, since Ultra is nearing and options are limited, but I've never used a Hori stick. I'll probably end up swapping the buttons for Sanwa. Not sure about the stick yet, but I'm willing to give it a shot. I never had the greatest execution to begin with, so maybe switching to the Hori Hayabusa will actually help.

I sort of wish the start button wasn't on the face, but the other buttons being on the side doesn't bother me. Is it a solid stick otherwise?

EDIT: Anyone have an idea when Mad Catz will have the TE2 back in stock? Their site says May and Amazon says May 30th. Is there a chance of it releasing before USFIV? If so, I'll probably wait. MarkMan? :o

EDIT2: Maybe I should mod one of my current sticks for now. I'd need somebody to do it for me though, as I don't really want to get soldering equipment.

EDIT3: That Venom stick also looks decent since it can easily be modded with Sanwa parts.

Yes, I'm going crazy here.

I've been watching all FGC events for many years, but i suck at the games,
i can't do long combos, i'm a musician, but the timing to connect those combos are insane,
i will give fighting games a second chance next month with the release of USFIV on PS4, so i need a stick, ideally a stick compatible with PS3/360/PS4/PC, any suggestions?

Are fight sticks mainly a US thing?
It's always very hard to find this stuff Online in Europe, or am I just looking in the wrong places?

Got my TE2. Thing's great, all the new features worked out. My only real complaint is the loose plexi just bugs me, and there's always going to be a tiny bit of give on the top. The case build and layout feels really nice compared to most things I use though. Def better than the Qanba I use, without being a tank like the old PS2 and early PS3 era Hori's I used to use.

Are you sure you can't reassign more than one at a time? I was pretty sure you could do all three. But yeah, it is underdeveloped. I posted some instructions way back in this thread.

I just realized current PS4 sticks don't have a connection for headsets. Is it possible to keep a Dual Shock 4 on the same profile as the stick for chatting, or will I have to use a wireless headset?

I think you have to go wireless or USB.

This topic is such a double edge sword for me. Every time it is bumped, I stupidly get my hopes up for news regarding a new FE PS3/PS4 version. Every time so far, I've been disappointed (though it's always nice to see custom mods and cab restorations). I wish HORI would just hurry up and release a new FE. I want a new stick :(

If Hori is planning a new FE, I wouldn't realistically expect them to announce it until after the new VLX are released so they don't harm the sales of that with folks just waiting for the FE.

I can't wait to see the VLXs in my house, I really hope I dig them, slight cold feet here... I realised I could have had a XBOX One in addition to my PS4 lol.

Solid. But, it does squeak a lot. Maybe it's just my buttons?

The squeak is real, but I think the complaints are a little overblown. Other than the slight squeak, the buttons work and feel fine, and I personally don't really mind or notice the squeaks while playing anyway. Keep in mind though, I have very minimal experience with other sticks though, so my opinion may not count for much.

Feels like it squeaks because it's catching on something, which doesn't cause a smooth button press, which messes with my inputs.

We will have some back in stock before mid-May.

I announced this awhile ago, that we are already working on a solution (it's a bit far out) for future arcade sticks to have this feature.

I'm sorry if this has been addressed already (I've searched and skimmed the thread, but there is a lot of thread here :p) but I was wondering if there is a workaround for using the TE2 KI sticks on PC yet?

Everything I've read regarding RT and LT on the stick not working is 6+ months old, have there been any updates recently?

Took 3 weeks to ship, but our GamerFingers finally arrived. We ordered sets of red and yellow (Russian character connection), but received white and yellow.

These snap in so tight that I'm not sure they're coming out, but they sure feel nice to drum on. We had to put on Hard Corps Uprising as these demanded a mash fest bullet game trial.

How you like them compared to other buttons?

I had a feeling that you probably did a while back, but I didn't feel like digging through all the previous pages.

But very good to hear and thanks for the follow up.

No updates. None of the Xbox One sticks from anyone (including Hori and Razer) have both LT/RT working. This is on the driver side and needs to be updated by MS/Xbox.

Uprising on a stick is so damn awesome.

I played it on a pad for so long and then when I played on a stick felt like a dummy for not doing it sooner.

I know what I'm doing when I get home.

You can get them out pretty easily using a flat-head screwdriver. I tested it on mine when I put them into my HRAP4, as my intention is to put these things into the VLXes as soon as they arrive.

I also played quite a bit of Jamestown+ on them :P

Sorry if this has been asked before, but what is the buzz on the mk controller that was released with the game?

Should I wait for the hori commander 4 controller to come out in a few weeks?

I don't have one, but I do like the fact that the six face buttons are microswitches. Not sure if the FC4 is using microswitches or rubber domes...

I'm pretty sure they're rubber domes. The only pad that uses microswitches is the PDP and I'm already reading problems with buttons not registering properly after a week usage.

Did you flat-head one side as you held the other? I found that if I tried to squeeze it out a little at a time on each side, it just gets more stuck. Sanwa buttons pop up that way for me when they're on tight.

What do you mean by rubber domes... standard pad buttons?
