Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

Isn't that due to the VLX layout and size?

The base looks to be the same material as the hrap

It isn't. The panel is painted metal. The sides are plastic. Same as the diamond, except the diamond has polished metal instead of painted.

It's far sturdier than any other mass produced stick on the market.

Hope Capcom announces soon if they're going to use the HID driver for usf4 on ps4.

I played some MKX last night with my Fighting Edge just for a change of pace. It felt great using that stick again, though I don't think I'd want to deal with that procedure (DS4+Stick / player) on a day-to-day basis or especially at tournaments.

I appreciate the drivers but it does seem a bit much to get it working for multiple people. I don't think tournaments are going to allow it to be used. Too much could possibly go wrong having a total of 4 controllers being used for just 2 players.

Apparently it only works like that in MK because of the way profiles are done. The Skullgirls guy (Ravidrath) who posts here says it's plug and play in skullgirls.

I love being able to use my fightingedge, though.

Yeah, I suspect the profile system will be common on PS4, so I won't be surprised if Tekken 7, SFV, and/or VF6 (hope springs eternal!) end up working the same way. That said, it's absolutely manageable for single-player, so I appreciate the inclusion.

I still don't know which style Swana buttons I should be buying for my VLX. I read there are screw ins, snap ins, whatever ins. Is there a noob guide?

Are there any parts that just don't fit the VLX at all or poorly?

Yeah, probably right.

Friend pulled out his original TE to play MK and I was glad he could.

As long as you're buying the right size, you're fine. Screw ins and snap ins will work. If you have questions, just post what you're looking at and somebody here can tell you. :)

Just got a message from madcatz this morning telling me the TE2 are on backorder, thankfully, because the person I spoke with a couple of days ago didn't cancel my order! I decided to order the VLX for the first time. I figured, I'm already spending this much, what's a little more?

So I finally got my confirmation from Mad Catz that my order has been fulfilled for my TE2. I was like "about fucking time". Then I check the tracking and see that the delivery may be delayed because of the Baltimore riots. Well, I definitely didn't see that coming.

At least my VLX will be here by Monday, supposedly. The TE2 can take its time since what's happening up there can't be helped.

Estimated delivery :
5/02/2015

Neeeeed that VLX!

I have a preference for Seimitsu sticks and buttons, now.
So, out with the Hayabusa and Kuros (I don't find the 30mm buttons that bad, but I really detest the 24mm Options button).

I like that they changed to the tighter fitting disconnects from the Fighting Edge.
I had to crimp the plastic covered disconnects a little bit, on my 360 VLX.

I received my VLX from Hori, this morning.
My work was not too far from their warehouse.

This looks gorgeous....

What is the size of the box, by the way?

Wow, I love the grey/black color scheme! Which lever btw?

Edit: Heh, looking closer at the second photo, it's an LS-32.

A wiring and connector comparison.
It seems like they did a cleaner install with the harness.

Nice color combo, if I don't like the stock buttons this is definitely what I would go with.

I can confirm that if you ordered 2/VLX's from Hori, they double boxed. Sweeet!

I love this stick. No dimples in the front metal panel, kuros are a much sharper edge than Sanwas but absolutely no squeaking from any of the buttons. Cable door is tight and not loose at all. Lever seems fine and I can't feel a difference from Sanwa's but that could change once I play with it a bit. Only complaint so far is the air bubbles under the foam on the bottom...for $300 they should have no air trapped in there.

BTW: The V3 is currently for sale. It is a switchable SIXAXIS wireless padhack by Gummowned. But now, it isn't needed since my PS3 is now on my computer desk where the VLX will live.

I thought the air bubbles in the bottom foam was going to happen to more than a few sticks :/

Other than that how is everyone's so far? I'm out of state this weekend and my stick is at my office waiting for me when I get back. Hopefully I can swing by Sunday when I return and grab it and finally play Xrd.

Gah. I wasn't going to be home for the delivery, so I had it held at a FedEx. For some reason it won't be available to pick up until Monday, even though the FedEx is like 5 minutes from my place.

Dang it. :-(

So like everyone else, my vlx came in today as well.

Couple thoughts, yeah this beast is nice! Unfortunately, mine has the two dimples on the metal =( How about anyone else?

I'm actually surprised by the buttons. The Kuros aren't bad. For once, I'm not in a rush to change them. The button I have to change is the options button, it doesn't even match the rest of the Kuros.

This really feels like a premium stick though so overall I am happy.

Ok guys i dont know if this has been answered but i need a solution to a problem. When SFIV came out i bought a really nice fightstick. The legendary SFIV tournament edition stick. This stick has served me through all fighting games very well.

However I got a new ps4 and found out that the stick does not work.

I NEED A SOLUTION. I am not going to go buy another stick. That is not an option. I need an adapter, mod, SOMETHING. to get this stick to work with the ps4 for mkx.

Thank you.

Padhack a MKX pad (which seems to be uglier than it should) or padhack a Hori Fight Commander. Or get a PS360+.

Buy the pad
Take the pad apart
Solder wires to where they need to be to connect to your current buttons
Connect them to your buttons

Hopefully you're able to do this yourself with some careful work. By the time you get someone else to do it for you it would almost be better/cheaper to just get a new stick (unless you can find someone willing to do it on the cheap).

so I bought the Seimitsu LS-32 along with

LS-32 Round Main Guide

LS-32 Triple Restrictor Plate

If I install the round main guide, this just turns the stick into a circle gate, right? like a Happ? the restrictor is to be used with this round guide?

Don't think I will want to turn the stick into a circle gate but I bought it just to have it.

Nice. I like the translucent bubbletop. Are the GFs translucent too?

Thanks! The black GamerFingers are in fact transparent, you can see the switch color if you look closely (red in this case).

Lever is an LS-56 for the moment. I put a spare LS-32 in there but one of the microswitches wasn't working. I should have a replacement in the mail soon.
