Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

Anyone know of a decent PS3 or 360 to Wii controller adapter? I'd love to set QisTopTier up with Tatsunoko vs Capcom but he pad warriors and thats not exactly a system with any good pad options. Any help would be appreciated.

Every person I've played TvC against used a TE that was dualmodded with toodles' Multi-Cthulhu PCB. Just need a GCN extension cord spliced into an RJ45 and u have a godlike TvC controller.

Cross post from SRK:

Silent JLF with smoke bubbletop and all silent smoke buttons. Wish the balltop matched the buttons better. Oh well.

Does anyone have any problems using their SFxTK VS stick on PC? Just bought Ultra over the weekend and my stick is dropping inputs and inputs are sticking strangely. Tried it with Skullgirls and same thing. I could of sworn I'd used it before with no problems. I'm running windows 7 if that helps anyone answer my question.

So I bought a Standard Edition SF4 stick for PS3 that was modded with a Cerebus PCB upgrade board to allow the stick to switch between PS4/PC mode and PS360 mode. Question: Is there a reason for PC games to have the A/B (O/X) and X/Y (square/triangle) buttons flipped? I can't even remap with the stick in SF4 (where this problem is) and Ikaruga seems to have the stick in a constant "hold up" button if the stick is plugged in.

Is it something to do with the 1.01 Cerebus driver Windows 8/8.1 installed when I plugged the controller in? The person that sold me the stick honestly doesn't know.

No reply? I guess no one knows why the Cerebus drivers on 8.1 would flip buttons and other factors?

Does anyone have a spare JLF dustwasher (shaft cover version)? Would happily pay someone a few bucks to pop it in the mail...

So With SFV beta coming soon I was thinking of getting a PS4 TE2 stick. You guys think I should get the TE2 now or just wait till next year when SFV actually comes out and see if there is a TE3? I also have GGXrd, but haven't played it because I don't have a stick for PS4.

I have the original TE1 on PS3 though, maybe I should just get a converter?

I dunno, I think a classic controller pro would be fine for TvC. I played it with the regular CC just fine, and CC/CC Pro have good D-pads.

I'm looking to purchase my first stick to use with PS4 and PC. I'm kinda overwhelmed with the number of sticks around, and I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for me.

I haven't used one before, except for when playing on an actual arcade machine. The most I'd like to spend is $100 USD.

Thanks! :)

anyone get a hori kuro vlx? thinking about biting the bullet on it and then swapping out the kuros for some semitsus.

or maybe i'll stick to my hrap3 and look for a pilebunker in the future.

Samducksa has made new crown lever for Arcade stick recently.

SAMDUCKSA Crown 309 Lever (Ver.Helpme)

In Korea, some of Tekken 7 Arcade Cabinets are using this lever.
And all the arcade cabinets to be used in Tekken Crash Round of 16 matches will be replaced by new model that contains Crown 309 Helpme lever.

According to reviewer, The reputation of this lever is so far very good.

Certain inputs randomly drop and my stick will randomly disconnect every once in a blue moon. Feels like it only happens after I've been using it a bit. PCB's going bad, I think? It's the same Madcatz SE I've been using for years so I guess eventually shit was gonna start breaking down.

What's the easiest/cheapest way to swap out a PCB for a 360 stick? For I am a broke-ass college student who doesn't have much time to play fightman games anymore anyway. I don't really need a dualmod or anything like that.

My guess would be a PS360+ PCB, pretty much as simple as putting the right cables into the right holes and clamping them in.

Quick question: has anyone tried to order the Hori Kai Ps4 from any of the European Amazon stores? How long does it take to ship actually? (it's generically 'out of stock' on the Uk site while it says 'ships in 3-6 weeks' on other countries sites)

Holy crap @ the price of a TE2 in Canada.

I was gonna pick something up to play the SF5 beta with but my good sense is telling me to just wait for PC version and use my old HRAP VX SA. The Hori Kai for PS4 isn't TOO expensive and looks cool...I've got some black Sanwa buttons lying around I could put in if I don't like their buttons. But I'm not gonna drop that much money with doing no research...if I order it now I could have it in time for the beta though...shit.

I kinda want to play Guilty Gear too of course. I fell out of fighters a while back but EVO has me feeling it again.

Evo had me pumped up and i decided to switch from gamepad to fightstick...

Can you guys suggest me what to buy and where to buy a nice Arcade Stick?
Here's the wishlist/requirements:

- I live in the EU so i need a shop that ships there
- Budget is 150€ (160$) all included
- The more is compatible the better but the very only true requirement is that it works on PC

Would be nice but don't care if it's in or not:

- Octagonal gate (i will buy one later regardless, screw square gate)
- Clear stick and buttons

Please guys i'm in your hands.

I need to get onto Arcadeworlduk and find out if they're planning on stocking this anytime soon. I previously had a Crown 303 (posted in here when I was installing it in my VLX) and had a mixed experience with it, I enjoyed it but definitely felt it was getting worse over time much more drastically than I'd hoped. If this is the legit shit tho, damn I'm interested.

Looks like it has a Korean style mounting plate rather than a Japanese style, guess I'll wait for the Japanese style to come out.

I have a PS4 VLX that I've been playing with the past few months (my first fight stick). I've never customized a stick but would kind of like to change things up. It's good, but I don't really like the clickiness of the stick and the buttons almost feel like they have too little feedback to me. Any stores you could recommend where I could get the parts to change this? I saw that arcadeshock has some buttons and even a silent joystick (http://arcadeshock.com/collections/...hi-silent-joystick-1st-generation-jlf-tp-8y-s) but don't know if these are what I need.

Danke.

It took almost 2 months to receive mine from Amazon UK. When I placed my order it said "Usually dispatches 2-4 weeks."

hi, just a short question. i recently bought ultra streetfighter at the steam sale and i am rocking an xbox360 pad. It is fun but well, some commands are just tought to do. I want to get a stick and a friend would sell me his for 80 bucks. It is one of the first madcatz sticks when streetfighter 4 released. the small, not the tournament, edition. He modded it with sanwa parts. xbox360 edition if that matters.

the question is, will this one work on pc? looking forward to killer instinct and streetfighter 4 so i want it to be futureproof or well, work at all.

Yes it will. Did he put in a Sanwa joystick or only buttons? I would hope for that price he replaced the joystick, in which case it's a good deal depending on condition.

I two-day shipped a hrap 4 kai. I have two hrap 3s, and I never thought I would allow myself to do this.

The Street Fighter 5 beta may as well not exist without a native stick for me, because I would be beta testing my ability to use a pad.

Having a stick that actually works in PS4 menus, without having to micromanage a controller, helps make it seem not so awful.

Should I swap in my sanwas buttons from my other stick? Decisions.

I recently got Ultra Street Fighter IV and i'm thinking about getting one of these arcade sticks. Thing is, i've never touched one in my entire life. Seems like it's kinda essential to properly play the game but is it just in general an easier tool or will i be in for one steep learning curve? They look so pretty

They must have read my mind (or this thread...). Few hours after I posted here, an email came with an estimated delivery for next week. It appears in fact due in stock on july 26. Luckily, I had placed my order when it was £88 :)

HRAP4 Kai impressions:
Wow, the stick has no resistance at all. I am not sure how I feel about it so far. It will take time to adjust, because the resistance on my SA guides my execution.

Still, I played two hours of Xrd without serious issues. Double tapping is much faster, though, and my Eddie sandwich strings are more precise than ever. This makes me think it will be a good change overall.

The buttons are definitely harder to press in, but it hasn't messed up my execution yet. Pianoing took a bit more effort, and I wonder if my hands might become more tired sooner as a result of the Kuros. I am less excited about the buttons, and I might swap those out. I will at least give them through the SFV beta to feel them out. It might just be a period of adjustment.

It's weird learning to use a stick at first, but give it a month and you'll feel at home. Using the buttons is more natural almost instantly though, imo, since trying to do throws or any of the faster inputs is much easier than on a pad.

What do you mean by feedback? If you never modded, that stick you linked would work great as well as the 2nd gen version (way pricier though). Just a heads up, some people end up not liking silent joysticks because they miss the clicks. It turns out the clicks were actually useful as audio cues of switch activation. Another option for complete silence is optical switches but that requires soldering for power. Here's a link in case you want to see what I mean.

The site I linked is a great place to order from as well.

Yes they are pretty but if you never touched one then i would argue it's not necessary. Look at someone like Smug who just beasts on a pad. Luffy as well (haters gonna hate but he still won an Evo) . I use a stick because I grew up on arcades and it's like a hobby within gaming for me. Modding is just too fun.

If you really feel that a pad is holding you back then by all means pick up a stick. Just putting that alternate viewpoint out there.

Eh, what's wrong with using a PS2 controller adapter? There are lots of PS2 controller options

Could also try the Dualshock 4 adapter released recently -- http://ps4daily.com/2014/10/dualshock-4-wii-u/

Good stuff, thank you sir. I'll keep the clickiness for now and just start with the buttons perhaps.

Fuck it, it's my damn birthday, and my 3 months probation ended today at my new job. Just ordered a TE2 and Xrd. Got my code for the SF5 beta too. Let's go.
