Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

Kind of regretting not jumping on a $200 CAD PS4 TE2, especially seeing that they're $200 USD, but the SFV sticks will probably be pretty dope. Could always just get a HRAP, too.

They haven't confirmed day 1 PS3 stick compatibility, right? Just that it's in consideration?

I'll continue to keep an eye out for deals on PS4 sticks, then, like a dummy.

Almost copped a Venom stick the other day because it seemed like a good deal, but everyone seems to say it requires modding. I'd rather just buy something that feels great out of the box.

First make sure the system switch on the right panel is set to PS4.

You may have the button assign switch on. With the assign buton to on, to clear it, hit the PS button, then turn it off. No lights should be on.
FYI, This is how that works:
-Turn the Assign mode switch on. (turbo light turns on)
-Tap the button you want to change (L1/L2 or option) - turbo light blinks
-HOLD the button or combo you want to map to it until it stops blinking and the assign light comes on
-turn off A switch.
You can remap the side L3/R3 to the top L1/L2 or Option or disable the L1/L2 or Option. You just can't remap anything to the side L3/R3. If you disable the Option, you can remap it to the side Turbo button though.

Also, you can cycle turbo on/off for a button by holding turbo and hitting the button. It cycles between on/auto fire with no press/ and off.
 
Hey Markman, if you're able to give a heads up on approximately when Amazon will get the Rivals stick in their warehouse that'd be great.

I ordered on the 20th of July, with an estimated ship date of the 27th, but then it changed to "We'll email you when available."

Sorry, I didn't do a good job on explaining that post, so I cleaned it up above.

Try turning that switch to A-on, hitting the PS button, then turning it back on. All while the stick is plugged in of course.

You don't normally have to assign any buttons, that stick just has a feature where you can remap some of them if you want, but they don't explain it well at all in the manual. It might have shipped with some of that enabled.

I kinda have a feeling the usb part is broken. I'm not getting any response from ps button, is there some sort of setup I have to do?

That's odd. Maybe try connecting to a PC, see if it's recognized, going into the joystick properties where the button config is to see if it is showing any response?

Might be a lemon if not :(

Its saying something about the last usb that went in malfunctioned, do I need a driver

That's what I thought, but I vaguely recall hearing about people having issues doing that; paint chipping off easily and such.

Bummer. It sounds like it's not being recognized, so it could be bad.

If it's Amazon, they're pretty good about replacements. You can even do a self-service return and they can cross-ship. That's probably what I would do if you're not getting any kind of response.

Would I be able to open this with the warranty sticker and if anything return it or they'll notice?
 
Hey pizza cat, , this sounds absurd and all but when I got my HRAP a few weeks ago I thought it wasn't working with the PS4 at first either - because you can't just plug it in and hit buttons to use it , you might try signing in using a dual shock 4 first and then plug in the stick, press the PS button and it should prompt you to sign that in as well.

Course, as other suggested, plugging it into a PC should also work, there's actually a driver windows will grab and it even recognizes the controller as a HRAP 4 KAI once it's auto-installed.

In my experience you can't turn on a ps4 with an arcade stick either, you have to turn the system on and then turn the stick on.

I signed in, I'm on the xmb and nothing. I go to skullgirls using the ps4 controller and nothing, nothing works

Why not contact Hori USA for a replacement? That's what I would do. When it comes to electronics I'll usually contact the manufacturer if it arrives broken. Most usually have a sheet of paper in the box telling you to do just that.

I snagged one, but honestly, it's kind of ugly. Not sure if I will keep it and change the bezel/buttons to white, or sell it.

The the maker of the product insists there's no lag or issues at all. Not exactly an unbiased source. Dude is also the most obvious viral marketer on GAF. Makes the whole thing even more shady in my eyes.

Yeah, looks like it. It was available from the Madcatz store for a while during EVO and available for preorder through Amazon for a few days after that but I don't see any other way of snagging it.
