Too bad they don't paint the metal top panels like the KI version. All of the new TE2 sticks have a raw panel and it looks kinda crappy.
Also this new plexi sucks so bad

Thanks! Truth be told, it originally started out as just the main four buttons (closest to the stick). I got colors that were similar to the colors of the respective buttons on an Xbox 360 controller (blue for X, yellow for Y, etc.). I didn't change the farthest four buttons until later, but the colors for those were pretty much random since there aren't any colors that correlate with them. I like Skittles, M&M's and Reese's Pieces so I'll take the comparison to candy as a compliment!

Yeah I had to go out and actually download the Xbox one controller driver. Which is weird. The trigger buttons still don't work. I truly don't get that at all.

Got these babies in today,gonna look nice in my all black Namco MC stick.
I just found out about this issue recently. For right now I'm just using my old 360 TE on PC. I hope that they resolve this soon. With Windows 10 out does that mean people can d/l KI on PC now? I never really followed that announcement closely. I imagine once that happens MS will be more motivated to fix this, if they haven't already.

Is the Venom a good arcade stick for a beginner? I'm just getting into USFIV on PS4 and would like to learn on stick and the Venom is the cheapest stick on Amazon UK. I had a look on Shoryuken and people said the buttons aren't that great and advise to swap them for Sanwa or another brand but all in all it seems like a good easily moddable stick . Just wondering if anyone had any experience with it before I click order.

However, one of the black buttons stopped working years ago, and I've always meant to replace it but just never had the time. I suspect it's due to a somewhat shoddy soldering job that my dad helped me out with. Still using the original pcb.
I'm looking to upgrade so that I can restore the functionality of the one button (even though it's not really critical), but I'd also like it to work on PS3, PC, and PS4 (the latter isn't a must, but it would be nice). Really want for it to be solder-less. I live in Toronto, just in case anyone recommends me some dealers.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I don't think there's a solderless way to add PS4 support yet, but if you just want to replace the PCB, a PS360+ will work on pretty much every other system. If you suspect it's a bad soldering job, I'd try fixing that first rather than replacing the PCB, since a PS360+ is like $60 from most of the American shops who stock it.
And don't forget the really easy check: try switching the wires on the "bad" button with one of the other buttons, and see if the problem moves. Who knows, maybe you had a loose connection there, or a bad button.

I haven't used it myself, but I was looking into the PS360+ for a while back when I was building a 360 stick. Looks to fit the bill, solder-free, compatible with 360, PS3, PC and others (Though currently it suffers from an issue with the PS4 with an 8 minute timeout, so keep that in mind.)
Since I've moved to the PS4 for fighters, I haven't bought a PS360+ to use in my own stick, but yeah, could work well in your case if PS4 isn't an absolute requirement.

You'll need .110 quick disconnects & 22 AWG wire. I assume he'll have his own soldering iron and solder. Oh you'll need a 5-pin harness for each JLF if you don't have them already.

I actually think there's corrosion on the board related to this button. I tried to replace the solder once and it didn't work. There's a spot on the board that looks really questionable to me, and it leads back to that button. So yeah, definitely think the board needs replacing. Thanks for the input!
That's two votes for the PS360+, so I'll be looking into it. PS4 support isn't needed right now, but it would be nice since I have a friend with a PS4 who plays lots of fighters. Thanks!

Just update your PS360 via USB after you install it. Then it'll work with PS4 games that support PS3 sticks.
Would that eliminate the 8-minute timeout NinjaCatfish mentioned?

No, not for now. The 8 minute timeout is gonna be there for any game that doesn't support PS3 sticks through the Lab Zero driver. That's because every 8 minutes the PS4 polls controllers to make sure they are "authorized" PS4 devices.
You'll want to do the update though, because most PS360 PCBs don't have the firmware updates on them to connect to PS4 out of the box.

For a novice there is honestly not much you could do wrong in terms of hardware.
Both Hori and Madcatz sticks work out of the gate on pc.
Since you have no preferences in the beginning it doesn't matter what kind of joystick and buttons are used as long as they are of quality. That's something which you could think about a year in or so.
Maybe watch this tutorial on how to 'hold' a fightstick? (starts at 2:00)
Are you guys going to restock the Persona 4 sticks sometime? I may consider one if they aren't overhanging like the TE2's.

Just got some mechanical buttons, put them all in (what a bitch that was...), plugged in my VLX kuro into my ps3...and it doesn't work. Doesn't work on PS4 or PC.
Don't know if the PCB got fried or if it's the USB cable.
So sad right now.

I have a feeling that it's not a software issue, but a design flaw in the USB controller PCB. They can't patch that, they need to redesign the hardware. I'm curious if the new Amazon.co.jp Hori stick has the same issue. It looks like it will have new internals.
Question for you guys if you get a chance. I'm about to order some springs for the Hayabusa, and trying to decide on 2 lb vs 1.5 lb. How stiff is the Hayabusa w/ 2 lb springs compared to the stock Sanwa JLF?
