Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

So I'm still looking for a game controller PCB that the Vita/PS TV supports, but it has to also support two analog sticks as well as the d-pad and all buttons. The analog stick thing is the kicker preventing me from going with the PS360+. Anyone have any ideas?

Alternatively, a simple native wired controller with a reasonable layout will do, though having a PCB I could wire into is optimal.

Is it a huge issue? I read it was like maybe a frame, but I honestly dont think of anything that I play on 360 that would have an impact. Plus with 360 being phased out doesnt seem that big of a deal going forward
Yeah about 1 frame, if you've never noticed it I wouldn't worry about it. Course if you do want to switch boards at some point anyway there's the Brook one if you want PS4/XB1 compatibility for about $20 more.

I'm thinking of getting a ps4 stick. I need some recommendations. Should I get chun-li stick, TE2+, or TES+? I want a stick that could be easily modded.

Wait for TE2+ or TES+. I'd say get whatever you think looks cooler or more comfortable to use ( I like the TES+ form factor). Pretty sure both are easily moddable. I say wait for them because they both have touchpads while the existing one's don't. Not necessary but definitely a convenience depending on how the pad is implemented.

What's the difference between TE2+ and TES+?

Still trying to decide between PS4 and PC for SF5. Is there any benefit for either system in regards to sticks? It seems PC has a lot more options out there. Thanks!

A lot more used sticks out there for pc most likely since people sell them for current console sticks.

I also want to ask, how easy is changing the art on the stick? Me and my brother might get the same stick but it depends since we don't want to have an identical stick.

On the TES+? It shouldn't take that long, there are plenty of tutorials and video tutorials online. It's also pretty easy, but take care on removing the buttons because the tabs can be pretty fragile.

Damn, not sure what stick to go for, either the te2+ or the tes+.

Is the te2+ a lot bigger? My current stick is an original madcatz tournament edition stick with the marvel vs capcom 2 art.

Need to make a decision soon, what are you guys going with out of the two?

TES+

i bought a TE2 in the mean time just making sure i'm ready

Both Arcade Shock and Paradise Arcade are now shipping their UFB pcbs. I just received email of my order being shipped. Pre-order price for the pcb end at both websites on Sunday at 11:59pm.

Is every PS4 stick compatible with PCs (using Windows 10)? Been looking at getting the Madcatz Alpha since my TE1 have troubles with USB compatibility.

MCZ TE2 for X360 does not currently work on a friend's Windows 10 install.

The driver is borked because the stick inputs get stuck in varying directions (ie. doing QCF movement gets stuck in down position though the physical stick is in neutral position). This effect also shows up when viewing the config in game/devices control panel (not specific to games) so it's certainly a driver/os issue.

I'm guessing it's up to Microsoft's support on the Windows 10 side to fix this. Though it doesn't make sense because the xbox 360 is natively supported in Windows 10...

Anyone else experienced or fixed this challenge?

Round 1 TE and SE stick work fine for me on Windows 10. Maybe the stick is borked or does it work with his Xbox 360?

That's because of the old USB protocol it uses, if you have a spare pci slot you can get certain USB boards for it to work. I have one in my hyperspin pc. Other alternative is to to pick up a brook adapter or fighting board. I ordered the fighting board this week, it works on ps3,ps4,xb1,360,pc. But you'll have to open the stick up. http://arcadeshock.com/products/brook-universal-fighting-board-ps3-ps4-xbox-360-xbox-one-pc

Is installing one of these all that difficult if you have never messed with replacing a pcb before? The description makes it sound fairly easy to do, but I'm wondering what I'm getting myself into if I buy one of these. I don't want to solder or get into anything overly complicated, but doing this doesn't seem like it is.

I know this one isn't out, I'm more asking in general what I would be getting myself into. Also, how much time does it usually take to get one of these installed and working?

I have a Qanba Q4 that I want to mod. Where is a good place to pick up some Sanwa buttons and possibly a new joystick? My buttons feel a little too mushy for me. Thanks in advance.

I might be crazy enough to order these to swap out the parts on my TE2+ stick when it arrives:

1 x Crown 303-FK Korean Joystick Clear Red

6 x Cherry MX Blue - HBFS-G2 30mm Mechanical Switch Pushbuttons: Black

I'm not happy with sanwa parts anymore. I need better precision and a more tough/tactile feedback. Not a cheap upgrade.

I do use a mechanical keyboard with cherry mx blues so I'm quite fond of em. I was thinking "Why don't they make mechanical arcade buttons?" and sure enough I found 'em...

Thoughts?

Those mechanical buttons are a BITCH to get in and take out of your stick. They do not fit properly. I scraped my fingers more than a few times trying to get them in, and getting them out is even worse.

I would try these, personally:

http://www.paradisearcadeshop.com/755-obs-mx-button-system

I have a few and they compare to the mechanical buttons I have without the pain of putting them in the sticks.

I haven't found a switch I've liked yet for mechanical buttons. They all feel super mush to me. I've tried blue, black, and red. Next up is brown, I think, or maybe green...I forget.

I just ordered some sanwa RGs. They are BY FAR the best buttons I have ever played on. They're super expensive, but on the set my friend had, just pressing buttons was fun.

Thanks Skilletor for the feedback, glad I posted here first.

I like how the obs-mx's just fit in the current button housing, that's sleek. Though I don't mind some work to fit buttons in the panel, the important thing is that buttons feel tough/durable and not wobbly plastic/sensitive like the current Sanwa OBSF I have. Concerns me a bit that you find mechanical switches mushy when that's how I'd describe Sanwa OBSF's. You'd prefer the Sanwa RG over mechanical switches huh?

At 7:30 in this video these cherry mx blue's look and sound how I think they'd feel.

I can vouch for this. I have the buttons for all five of my sticks. As much as I like playing mechanical buttons, they are a problem when putting them in and taking them out. I basically leave them in place for all time and will not change them unless they die out.

Can someone recommend with experience recommend a Korean style lever? Im looking into getting a makestick while i'm there, but I have only ever used a jlf. Button recommendations would be helpful too. I'm looking for an authentic Korean styled stick but if there are parts considered higher quality i'd gladly upgrade.

On that note, are the plastic caps typically all the same as sanwa defaults in these sticks? I'm looking for something with a 'harder' tactile feel, as the sanwas are so sensitive etc.

Got my Hayabusa stick yesterday, got caught up in SFV Beta and didn't install it yet. It's going in my reliable Madcatz SE Fightstick, still my favorite MC stick.

So I'll have a Sanwa, a Seimitsu, and a Hayabusa. Love the little nuances between 'em. The Hayabusa I ended up liking from my friend's HRAP. I have a set of Kuro buttons as well but I'm gonna stick with Sanwa.

Are you using it on PC or did you swap out the PCB with one compatible with PS4?

Did anyone get their TE-S+ preorder (possibly?)cancelled?

My brother preordered a TE-S+ off MadCatz's store earlier this month, they charged him the $200(maybe a hiccup?) and this morning his money was refunded.
