Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

DS4 makes a good padhack when it comes to latency, but people have noticed that due to its blutooth design the more DS4s in the area the worse its latency. The other issue is having to unpair it from systems if you use it at tournies. For the most part though, that seems good to me.
I knew about the Blutooth latency, it doesn't come into affect while using it wired, right? Sound like I might go for it, thanks.

it actually does, the DS4 does not use wired data connection with PS4, only with PC/PS3. On PS4 it just charges and connects to the console with blutooth

Really love the switch, too, since I actually do play games across the PS4, PS3, and PC. Not really sure the turbo switch has any value to me as a non-shmupper, but I might actually get some mileage out of slapping V-Skills/V-Trigger on the seventh and eight buttons with the reassignment option.

You can already do that with the SFV in-game button config.

What the button assignment should allow you to do out side of software regardless, is assign a custom button assignment of up to 3 buttons to L1, R1, or option.

However, I can't get it to work on the revised 4 Kai. It worked just fine on my old version. I'm still waiting to confirm if it's an issue with the stick in general that Hori messed up with this revision or just mine. Hori support has been terrible so far.

If anyone can test it out, please try and report back. If it's a hardware issue, Hori needs to address it.

Thanks for the advice.

Did some more research and lurking through this thread and discovered the Mayflash Arcade Fighting Stick V2. It appears to have a similar premise to the Qanba Q1 (midrange stick with ok parts and modding potential), but it has proper XInput, a longer cable, and a lower price. It doesn't have the desk mounting bracket and doesn't look as nice but w/e.
Man I'm even more tempted to buy a stick dangit.
welp, bought the Mayflash V2. This'll be fun.

Dude, I already reported that it works. Did you miss my post?

Sorry, It totally missed it. Thanks.

Just to check 100%, though, are you able to assign multiple buttons to one, not just 1:1? That's what was not working for me like my old one. I tried a combo you can't use in the SFV config screen, like LP+LK+MP, but that doesn't work. (that specific combo is not particularly useful for SFV, but that's just an example). I ran into some other games where various random combos were useful but not a preset option in-game.

I haven't tried that. Maybe it's just SFV?

From what I can tell, it really doesn't matter in game as it's a stick thing internally. The joystick itself sends the altered command. I saw this because I plugged my old one into the PC and set a button to act as a combo of three, and the controller properties panel showed three buttons lighting up when I pressed it.

The new manual still says you can assign up to three.

How do I assign these and check it for you?

On the old stick, it's just the same procedure as reassigning one button, but you just hold down more than one instead.

So, turn on the A-switch, tap the L1, L2 or option, then hold up to three buttons to map, rather than just one. Ideally the light should stop flashing and you can turn the switch back off and it works, but for me it never stopped flashing.

Woot, got my VS SH:

Slightly dinged up, but in pretty good shape for being a used, old stick. Red Rgs in the mail (don't like silent sanwa).

My favorite madcatz case <3.

Dunno if this is the place to ask, but....

Decided to order a ps360+ from FocusAttack and was wondering if any of you guys have an idea of how long it takes them to ship/deliver.

Got the new Hori RAP V Hayabusa in today.

Pretty nice so far.

The new Hayabusa buttons shit all over the old Kuros.

All this talk of the new buttons makes me want to buy a new Kai or RAP V even though I already have two new sticks, including the old Kai model. Where are people ordering RAP Vs from for a decent price?

I can finally see how some of you end up with so many sticks... I've got a TE2+ and original Kai, and yet still feel the inexplicable need to buy more.

The buttons.

I actually like/use them.

Kuros, RIP.

I've heard good things about the new Hayabusa buttons. My only concern is whether the matte finish holds up over time as well as smooth finish. Do you know if they are PBT plastic? I hope they don't get shiny or smooth very quickly.

Nice. What are you going to use it for?

You aren't making this any easier for me to resist not buying. (Someone please help me I have a problem)

This is the one thing that is making me hold off on the stick personally. Guess we really won't know until people use them for a while or if I do something stupid and buy one for science.

Just as soon as I was about to order a te2+ on newegg, sold out, fuck.

Might have to suck it up and order from madcatz, tax and shipping ;_;

nvm it's just tax, but still sucks. Oh well, at least I can order the strap at the same time.

Nice stick to use in the room when wife is sleeping and I have to play some SF5.

Also bought a brook adapter, so I can use it on PS4 if I want.

I still have my SFxT VS hooked up to my PS3 if I ever want to play 3rd strike or UNIEL. I might just make it my dedicated PC stick when I get around to buying iSFV on Steam. Hopeffuly they fix the zero lab driver on SFV so I can use it on my PS$ without much issue.

I am looking at selling my used HRAP VX SA for $90 shipped and then buying a PS3 Fighting Edge for $130.

I am very excited about this. Opinions?

Also, anyone here using a PS3 stick for SFV on PS4? I have two mega important questions:

1. I have heard reports of input lag. Overblown or legit?

2. When you register a ps3 stick with SFV can you still use a headset that is plugged into the Dualshock that you were using to start the game?

(I know I can just use a Brook adapter, but I want my headset to work while I play without having to use a USB solution or connect to my party via vita and put it on the table to chat lol.)

I got a Kai coming in this week so I'll keep track of how the buttons hold up as it is one of my main concerns as well.

On a side note some sharp action got whatever was stuck in that R2 button on my new TES+ outta there and the travel is normal now. Lever still has some squeak to it, hopefully that works itself out. Interested to see how the newer Kai stacks up. Glad they're adding an XInput PC switch to their products.

I got mine from amazon japan for a pretty good price, but I have a buddy over there who could ship it to me so that's probably not an option for most people.

My Chun-Li TE2 stick arrived today and I'm not home. :'(
I won't even be back until Thursday night.

So stoked to have my first stick. Gaahhhh!

Squeak came back in my te2+ sanwa stick. Seems if I take off the square gate and put it back on it disappears for a while then comes back.

Mine did the same, so I just kept scrubbing the inside of the microswitches until it stopped. Took a lot of tries and most people would have given up, but I'm sort of crazy, so I kept going. Hasn't squeaked for a couple days now, so I'm guessing there was some kind of dirt in there that was invisible to the naked eye. I'm definitely scared it'll come back, but not much else I can do.

I'm not sure mine is necessarily the switches I've take off the square gate and tested the switch that squeaks and can't produce the effect it's only when the gate is on that it does it. I've cleaned the switches the last 2 days as well. I might just switch it out with a stick I have laying around or just make the switch to a hayabusa and call it a day.

Mine had exactly the same issue. I think it only squeaks when the gate is on because the gate puts pressure on the switches. Pretty sure MadCatz just used a really old and poorly stored batch of switches for the TE2+.

Yeah I was thinking the way the gate is fitted on there might cause it after I took it off and couldn't repeat the issue. I'll have to put another square gate on it just to confirm that is what it is.

Let me know if you find out anything new. I'd like to know the exact issue since it seems so common and I'm not sure if mine has only temporarily stopped squeaking.

Quoting myself re: squeaks (JLFs on my Sega panel):
at least in my case I'm guessing it's something flexing and/or rubbing, which could be a lot of stuff besides the micro switches. Like the main body, gate clips, gate against the main body, actuator against gate, spring on actuator, stick cup/socket, etc. (...I think that's everything?)
Course I probably would've never noticed the sound (if it's even the same y'all are hearing) if I didn't remember the TE2+ complaints here.

If it's something flexing I'm not sure how much you can do about it, but for rubbing you could try a lubricant (being careful not to get it into places it could muck things up, and something non corrosive to the different materials).
