Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

I wouldn't worry about that, something tells me there aren't going to be any future MCZ products

Still annoying that I bought a supposedly premium item with so many issues. First the constantly squeaky stick, then the faulty wire, and now all inputs just randomly not working.

It does suck but the TE2 has had issues since it was released. Really any stick released after the original TEs has been a marked step down. MCZ has been showing their roots as knockoff manufacturers quite a while, sadly.

So does anyone with the HRAP V Hayabusa have any complaints/things I should know? I remember seeing that ti doesn't have the foam on the bottom, so does it usually slide around when on your lap?

Also, it should be relatively painless to swap the stick for a JLF right? Just screw and plug in?

only ever bought the original TE and it works fine to this day. currently rocking 2 hori sticks and totally happy.

Despite the new braided wire, it seems like my TE2+ still has issues. Last night after an hour long GG session, my stick just stopped registering all inputs despite still being connected and all the lights being on. This has happened before, but I wasn't sure if it was a hardware problem or a wire disconnect.

Definitely sours me on future MCZ products, and I'll probably just import an HRAPV now with Sanwa parts and use that as my primary stick. A quick google search shows that other people have had this problem, but I didn't see any solutions so I'd rather not continue using a stick that can randomly give out on me at any moment.

I know how you're feeling. My TES+ has some insane issues despite being used for about 3 months.. The option/start button doesn't work, at all. If I hit the lock switch on / off it will also hit the option button.. so that's what I have to do in order to use that. Happens on both PS4 and PC. Can't believe I went from my Hori to this, but it's probably a pretty isolated incident.

My original Round 2 TE had.. zero issues in 7 years.

Sucks that Hori doesn't have a Sanwa version of their HRAP 4 kai.

To be fair, it would defeat the purpose of getting the thing if you're going to be swapping a high quality JLF-like stick out for a JLF. I mean, if you absolutely, positively have to have a JLF and nothing else, sure, but I feel like wanting to swap a Hayabusa out for a JLF is doing a disservice to the quality of the Hayabusa.

I've played on both and while the Hayabusa is great, I prefer the JLF since Hayabusa feels a bit too lose for me. I don't know how it defeats the purpose of getting a Hori, especially considering I'm doing it because of quality concerns with parts beside the stick/buttons.

If you're doing it to get a stick for the current gen and have one already I would just swap the board for a Brook UFB and save some cash and space from buying a whole new stick. Otherwise yeah, HRAPV4 Kai and swap out to a JLF.

First the Seimitsu LS-40 is where it's at, but try a 2lb spring on the Hayabusa. Feels pretty much perfect.

Has anyone's sanwa stick feel like it gets stuck when trynna execute an input? I stay missing diagonals. It infuriates me. I've been using sanwa for at least 5 years and I'm still not comfortable with it.

Mine has foam on the bottom

Anyone having issues with the TES+? I haven't used mine much, so it seems fine so far, bur I'm debating trading it back in as I've been enjoying the Hori more.

I've yet to encounter any issues with mine. Probably has a few dozen hours put into it.

I put in a ticket Thursday night, heard back from them on Friday. They asked for proof of purchase to get things started, which I sent them, but haven't heard anything back yet.

How long was the turn around time for you guys?
It took like a month to get it all taken care of from creating the ticket to getting my replacement

Yeah I'm expecting a couple weeks still. Sent mine out today, should get to them by Wednesday, and I expect them to have it at the bare minimum a week, if I'm lucky.

As long as I get it back in time for Evo :[

They just requested I send TE2+ in to them as well. I've never had to send a package in for warranty, so how much can I expect this to cost me? Trying to decide if it's even worth it.

Got m y UFB with the extra pins attached from paradise arcade. Hooked up the lever, face buttons, start button and usb and tested it out on the PC some last night. Works like I expected/hoped.

Now to figure out a proper mounting method, because this HRAP V3-sa kai case is not conducive to anything but its stock PCB.

Received my Ryu Arcadeshock bag yesterday. But...the balltop I ordered with it wasn't included.

I give up on this company. How can you make so many screw ups on a single order? Emailed them, but just exasperated with them already.

The bag is nice, but I don't think I would order from them again. Had an opportunity to make it right and they still can't get it right.

Wow. That sucks.

Had to take the JLF out of my old 360 stick and put it into this stick for it to work :/. 3 jlf's all with the same flickering inputs without clicking into directions issue

On the plus side - that's not TOO bad of a fix. I'm pretty sure my PCB is fucked. I've tried swapping buttons but this bizarre issue persists.

Nice, where can you get the rubber feet?

My TE2 has started not registering back inputs on the stick but only for the first 10 minutes or so of ganeplay then it somehow starts working properly..very odd and annoying.

Do these problems also apply to the TE2+?

From what I've been reading online, yes. Mine has it's fair share, starting with a squeaky stick, then a faulty wire that disconnected all the time, and now it just randomly becomes completely unresponsive so I just sent it in to Mad Catz to check it out (and had to pay way too much money to get it shipped btw). It's incredibly annoying, and I'll be sticking with Hori for all my future stick purchases.

So I think I might be having some problems with the joystick on my TE2+

It really feels like every once in a while blocking while holding down back (left side) just doesn't register. I'm randomly getting hit by stuff I know I'm blocking.

If worst case scenario there is something wrong, its probably just literally the joystick itself and not the whole unit right? And then I'd be able to just buy a new stick and replace it?

If so, how much do they cost? And whats the best place to get them?

Edit: started reading above and...fuck. I guess this stick is just a piece of shit prone to break? this really sucks and I hope its just my imagination and my stick is fine...

As I posted over at the Guilty Gear XRD - REVELATOR- OT,

I bought a Hori RAP 4 Kai for PS4/PC, and these from focusattack:

Octogonal Restrictor Plate
Start Button
Face buttons
Stick bubbletop
Shaft + dustwasher

I think that black + red is awesome, specially translucent. Was thinking about blue previously but there wasn't a balltop I liked on that color.

Whaddaya guys think?

It was also cheaper for me to get everything from Focus attack + the Hori RAP 4 Kai, than to get the MC Tournament Edition S+ stick.

So I noticed the TES+ is on sale for 159.99 on Amazon. Is it worth buying at that price or might I be better off going with something like Hori? I noticed some people talking about issues here and there with MC sticks.

Go ahead & get it. It's a great stick at a great price, plus you won't have to worry about swapping out the buttons for Sanwas (as the stick already has Sanwas).

If you look back at the last few pages of this thread, a lot of people have been complaining about issues with their new mad catz sticks, so I'd personally recommend you get a Hori instead.
