Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

The guardian stick bag is $90. Damnnnnn was hoping for a $50-$60 bag like the defender. I might bite but it would probably be a better idea to wait for a sale.

Hey guys, I've been loving my TES+ since I got it, but I'm noticing strange marks under the plastic, it looks a bit like air bubbles. But its only on the right side of the stick. I've tried taking a picture but my phone isn't good enough to see them haha, they are fairly faint!

Nothing happens to them when I press onto the plastic where they are, like they don't move or anything. Any ideas as to what they are? And would unscrewing the plastic sheet resolve anything?

Many thanks

There's an image that is fairly close to what they look like!

So, that Qanba... they don't ship to EU from what I see. Made me curious - is there anything else that offers similar price/performance in the same range that I actually should be able to buy?

Hori sticks seem similar in price if you plan on replacing the Qanba stick/buttons.

Surely not right at the start - wanted it to be kind of a test stick if I like this kind of controller and (pardon me) stick with it. If I did, I probably would somewhere along the way.

I just brought the bag. I'll post pics of it and give my impression of it for you if you want when it comes in.

Hey all, I'm hoping to get art printed for my TE2+ for the first time soon. I have a handful of questions:

- I was going to do get it printed through here:

http://www.tek-innovations.com

Is that recommended? Or do y'all recommend somewhere else?

- Also, I'm confused by the wording on their site. Will the art they print work with my TE2+ and it's stock Plexi? Or will I *need* to buy their plexi as well for everything to fit?

- Also, what is the resolution I need? I am considering this art:

http://s978.photobucket.com/user/djb1ge/media/SFV TE2 R.Mika02.png.html

But the file is only 1500 × 964 (but it *is* 300dpi). Is that high enough res to print? I also downloaded the P4AU art from madcatz and that is a much much higher res. So I'm not sure what to do here.

- Also, I'm not sure what you call this piece, the bezel maybe? Is there a place I can get a replacement? I'm talking about the red "lip" on my TE2+. I have the standard one with Ryu on the art. So it has that red bezel or lip all the way around. Where can I get one of those in different colors?

I'd really appreciate any and all help, thank you!

Arts hobbies is good. The art will work but the holes his templates used are smaller than the madcatz template because his are designed to have the buttons sit on top of the plexi. Initially I tried putting the buttons on the same level as the artwork like madcatz has it and ended up almost causing tears.

So if you want to have the buttons sit on top I recommend arts hobbies. They have their own te2 template for you to use. If you want them to sit on the same level then go with the default madcatz template and take it to a print shop.

For te2 side panels and bezels good luck. I was waiting for months to get them but madcatz never sent them. Luckily I cancelled my order before their customer support phone lines got disconnected and found a dude selling a black set. I guess try srk's trading outlet. I have seen then on ebay from time to time but they are usually paired with a te2.

I have an old HORI stick that has a metal bottom that has begun corroding or is exceptionally dirty and I can't clean it off. Is there anything I can cover it up with or am I going to have get a steel panel and a cut a new one at work (that will probably look really shitty)?
No one has any advice? Surely this can't be the THAT uncommon of an issue, I took another look and it's just rust on the steel because the finish has worn off.

cool, thank you! what about the image sizes? The website says something like 1024x768, but that sounds incredibly low and like it will have very low quality. What is a recommended size?

Also, sounds like I'll probably get their plexi too since I want everything to fit :/

I don't want to print it myself because I don't want to deal with cutting the holes myself. I've seen end results and it looks really cheap to me. I'd prefer something machine done.

FYI - if you don't want to have to order one of their plexi's and remove all of your buttons in order to install the new artwork, you can ask for them to "cut using large hole versions to fit over panel" in the Special Notes field when placing your order and submitting your artwork.

I just ordered my TE2 art print with the original plexi dimensions from them yesterday, in fact. Art told me himself via email that he can do this upon request since he's done a few like this for Markman in the past. He just hasn't offered it on the site because he worries it will confuse people.

But yeah, I prefer to do it that way because that's one of the selling points of the TE2: being able to swap out art without having to remove all of the buttons.

oh gotcha, good to know, i'll probably do this. thank you!

So what's the best Joystick out there right now. I'm needing to change one out. I'm looking at the Hori Hayabusa Joystick. Is there anything out there that's better? Should I just stick with Sanwa?

i like the Hayabusa best but it's all preference.

Any hopes of getting a wider color selection of TE2+ bezels? Just got my TE2+ today and searching the net the only colors I can find are either blue, dark blue, or orange. Feels bad man. :(

I wish MCZ would do this, but it's not looking likely.

does it look like this?

So technical question from someone who isn't too versed in electrical work.

In the near future I'll be ordering 4-8 arcade buttons with LEDs in them (four 100m, four 52mm). They're gonna be for a controller on PS4, and I'll be using the Brook PS3/PS4 Fighting Board as a PCB.

As such I was wondering how/if I could go about wiring the LEDs?

On the assumption LED_B here is "Player 1" negative, and VDD_5V is the positive, would it be possible to daisy chain the positive and negatives around the 4-8 buttons to illuminate them, or would this cause a problem with voltage?

Boyz I got in contact madcatz support. They're going to sell me sidepanels and bezels that they have. We shall see if this is fulfilled.

I'm really tempted to dig in on the Qanba drone, because I'm really in the market for a new fightstick and it's just in my size and price range, but there's still no reviews.

So what's the easiest way to get rid of the plastic hinge squeak on the TE2? I've heard people saying that they loosened the hinge to get the top panel to sit flush with the sides, but I can't see how I'd go about doing that.

Just got an email back. Color options:

oh snap. is this something they're only willing to sell to you? or are we able to contact support and buy them directly?

are you going to be buying them up and then re-selling them? what's the deal here?

thanks!

(i'm hoping to buy a black bezel and blue side panels and turn me TE2+ into the Persona 4 Ultimax TE2 lol, or I might go with some different colors and go with a R. Mika design. But my bezel and side panels don't really work for either of those.)

I'd be interested in some too. I want to get rid of the white TE2+ side panels I have for something darker.

Does anyone here have experience modding a Hori RAP with new art/plexiglass? I've heard it was possible, but don't know how easy/risky it'd be.
