Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

oh snap. is this something they're only willing to sell to you? or are we able to contact support and buy them directly?

are you going to be buying them up and then re-selling them? what's the deal here?

thanks!

(i'm hoping to buy a black bezel and blue side panels and turn me TE2+ into the Persona 4 Ultimax TE2 lol, or I might go with some different colors and go with a R. Mika design. But my bezel and side panels don't really work for either of those.)

I want to get a replacement black bezel and blue side panels because I want to try and color mine and if it turns out horribly I want a backout plan

I'd be interested in some too. I want to get rid of the white TE2+ side panels I have for something darker.

Hit up madcatz support.

Where can buy one of those?
eightarc.com

In my case, the RAP V.

You can buy plexiglass and the stick art from Tek Innovation:

Plexiglass: http://www.tek-innovations.com/arthobbies/?loc=products&cat=16&subcat=&item=196#thumb

Stick Art: http://www.tek-innovations.com/arthobbies/?loc=products&cat=16&subcat=&item=197

The screws for the plexiglass are included.

Template for stick art: http://www.tek-innovations.com/arthobbies/downloads/Art Hobbies HRAP V Template.psd

Photoshop is needed.

The process takes about 2 weeks.

Thanks. Are there any premade art designs? I'm not particularly skilled with photoshop/gimp.

Just installed a PS360+ and works like a charm, except for Saturn support, any help?

I updated to the latest firmware and try to force it to Saturn mode pressing P2 + P3, all I get is no input. I did solder a wire from the Home slot to Pin #6.

Sadly, no, but you can ask someone to do it for you at SRK's stick art thread: http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/75228/check-out-my-new-arcade-stick-no-image-quoting/p1. That's if you have a account.

If you have a particular image you want to just slap on the psd file without doing anything fancy, I can do that myself.

I've been thinking about it, and I might want to go ultra minimalist and just do a solid color, so that shouldn't be too hard to figure out on GIMP. Probably solid black this time around, and if I change my mind later on I'm assuming it's easy to swap art with the new plexi setup right?

Yes. Very easy.

Quick question, and forgive me if it's silly (first time customizing a stick), but with the madcatz te2 template we're not supposed to resize the layout correct? The button cutouts don't look big enough to me to place my art over the buttons. Also noticed when viewing the image it's zoom is at 33%. Do I just ignore that? Will everything work out when it's printed on an 8.5 x 14? Maybe I'm just overthinking this. :lol

Everything begins with a single step. Beginning of my Project Diva Future Tone arcade controller I'm making.

The template provided by MadCatz is fine. I didn't have to adjust anything.
If you can I'd print on 17x11 paper just to be safe and allow for edge bleed (usually it's good to have .25" bleed on each side). 8.5 height seems pretty close that it may crop off the edges of the artwork.

Sounds good. Thinking about placing an order at tek-innovations. Anyone have experience with them? How long did it take to get your art back?

Good luck on the controller! I've been thinking about making one too actually :v

Guys, I just ordered the Eightarc Drone. The wife is going to kill me but I like its small form factor and general look. I will give some impressions when I get my hands on it.

Whipped this together after falling in love with Juri's new look. It's just new art on my TE2 but i really like it. I would also like to get some green/pink sanwas for oldschool flair but whatever.

Re: the TE2 tho, the left had side of the top panel squeaks when I push down on it. does anyone else have this problem? is there something i can do to help with it?

All TE2's have that hinge squeak because the top panel does not sit flush with the sides. I think you can loosen the hinges to alleviate this, but I've personally never done it.

Urgh. So annoying. How do you do that? unscrew the little nut looking thing on the end?

My Guardian came in today.

It's big. So it has a large pocket protected by this zipper.

Kind of worried about how long it'll last because it has this little flap part of the zipper hanging loose to overload it I guess?

Wish they went with the classic sewn into the bag design.

The main pocket is huge. Fits my te2+ with ease.

Wish it came with either an alt main pocket or at least an optional divider for the main pocket. All in all i'm pretty happy with it.

Now give me some patches, pins, or key chain plushie ideas to throw on this.

I've had a lot of fun customizing my TE2...but it really is a bad stick. I wish tek innovations would get the Fighting Edge templates up already so I can customize that and move my main stick over

Do you have the art file for the Ultimax TE2? I can only find the Shadow version of that artwork and would like to do the same.

More progress on the Future Tone controller has been made. I've finished the frame. Next I need to cut the holes (hole saw for the buttons, but I need to get my buttons in the mail first, lol, and pilot holes for the bottom panel so I can screw it in for removal purposes)

After I do the holes (which I need to borrow a drill before I can do that...), then onto finishing with a stain/varnish, and a few days after that wiring up the controls and then ready to play!

Do you have a VLX to test if it fits? The old Defender was able to fit a VLX in there pretty comfortably.

nope. from what i've read the standard art is not available anywhere. only the shadow version, which is what i'm gonna print :/

Got a black bezel and blue side panels heading my way from amazon soon :)

i have a spare blue side panels coming my way. I want to get a hold of some black ones though.

Going to try painting one of my spares a metallic blue, but I bought a spare because I feel like I'm going to fail miserably
