Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

I really like the look with that balltop and buttons. I made mine look like this:

yours has a striking resemblance to the one I swapped parts on and posted on here last year february

lol. but yours is definitely more clean.

Anyone have a guide to placing a PCB in a arcade stick?
I'm trying to fix mine on 360.
Most info I have gotten is that I could use a mascara fight pad or brawl pad.

Posted this same thing on srk, but it couldn't hurt to get opinions from multiple communities:

Been looking for a bag for my SFxT Fightstick Pro (used to carry it in a duffel bag, but want something that looks a bit nicer than a beat up nike gym bag), edging towards the "sling" style bags but I'm not sure which ones are big enough to fit it.

Saw this at the Capcom store:http://shop.capcom.com/store/capcom...762500/Capcom-Arcade-Pro-Fight-Stick-Bag.html

I'm not too sure about the size of it though, as the TE is quite a bit smaller than the Fightstick Pro?

I know I can get this: http://shop.capcom.com/store/capcom...44121100/SFXT-Arcade-Pro-Fight-Stick-Bag.html but this is honestly fucking ugly with the yellow all over it.

I'm thinking of getting the Madcatz Carrier (not the messenger) because it's still pretty cheap and I'm not the biggest fan of messenger bags.

But does the stick itself fit into the hole? IIRC the Madcatz Carrier was designed for the TE and not the SFxT Pro (which has more width), so wouldn't the stick portion not fit into the hole as seen here:

So, any suggestions?

I wanted a Seimitsu workhorse stick I can abuse on my 360, similar to the BrawlStick I have for PS3 (while keeping my prized EX-SE nice and lightly worn). To that end, I emailed Hori a while back asking if the VX-SE Kai can ever be released in the US, and after getting a reply which basically read: "lolwut," I made my own.

  • LS-40-01 lever
  • PS-14-K push buttons (6x)
  • PS-14-D-N-K for the start button
I've never installed buttons that used a nut before. Not really digging that install method.

Wanted to give an update on my PS360+ situation. I went out and replaced the RJ45->PS2 and Dreamcast cables with ones that should work (compared it to the diagram and checked the ends for a stable connection). The RJ45->USB cable still works fine, and the stick continues to connect to the 360, PC, and PS3 without issue.

However, it is still unresponsive when plugged into the PS1, Dreamcast, or Saturn (with an adapter). The PS360+ seems fine (PC recognizes it), the RJ45 jack works because I use it with the above HD consoles, and all inter-stick wiring is sound as well. Is it possible that I've gotten four dud cables for this thing? Forcing DC or PS2 modes either does nothing as well, or sometimes it'll act as if I'd pressed the confirm button once. Is it just a really finicky feature? I'd think it if was a widespread issue, there'd be more discussion on it, though I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Does it only work on a game-by-game basis?

There was a thread on Shoryuken about this, but I can't seem to access the board and it hasn't been updated in some time.

That looks really good with the clear bubbletop and white/clear buttons. I tried a clear bubbletop on mine but it looked out of place with the solid white buttons.

Got the Cerberus today, installed without too much difficulty (had some issues with crooked pins but that was easily fixed).

Would recommend to anybody who has a 360 stick and wants a solder-less solution for dual modding.

Didn't have any adhesive anchors though so as of right now it's just chilling loose in my stick until those arrive, shouldn't be an issue though.

The FightStick PRO will fit the Carrier just fine.

Ive been trying to get a stick bag too but Mad Catz dosnt ship to Puerto Rico :(

Sorry we don't have sales/distribution channels set up in PR right now. Your best bet is to have a friend buy it/ship it for you. Apologies!

Hey MarkMan, would MCZ ever consider making a PS3/360/PC converter like that Mayflash one, except not a piece of shit so it doesn't drop inputs/pause randomly?

Both of those look great, though I actually kinda like the HRAP more myself. The Rose stick is great, but I'm a sucker for simple artless two tone schemes. Can you post a top shot of that Rose stick as well? Kinda hard to see the art.

The Ex Pro is for sale if you want it lol.

Here's the top and the bottom art:

I'm pretty sure making a cross-platform device is against license agreements so you'll never see it as an officially licensed product.

I would actually feel bad using a B15 as a daily stick. I would display it as an art piece.

I have a stick being touched up that I'll be putting up never to play on. B15s are tanks, though. It'd be hard to damage them. Somebody had a Rogue one at EVO. I was surprised at the weight.

If (when) I get one, it'll be Hanzo from Samsho.

I can't praise his build quality highly enough, the thing's a tank. Had it almost two years and still not a scratch on it.

I'd love to have another one but it'll be a while before I see that kind of dough going spare again.

lol. :)

JEALOUS!

When you buy buttons from FA, do they come in pairs? Website is kinda vague about it. Also what other sites are there to buy them from?

Not in pairs, each entry is a single button. The pictures are meant to show the top and bottom of each part.

All the parts i recently bought for my HRAP came from Focusattack and Paradise Arcade Shop.

I have used Focusattack.com and Arcadeshock.com both. My go to is FA, but they were out of the clear top buttons when I needed them and Arcadeshock got me what I needed right away.

They've also had one for sale at their Austin store for over a year. Their price on it is kind of ridiculous. It will probably be there for another year.

I imagine this is the best place to ask.

I have an Xbox 360 DOA5 Hori Arcade stick and was looking to replace the art.

I can't seem to find anything online regarding the differences between the "Astro City" and "Noir" layouts

Will the Art's plexi for Hori's SCV stick work for this stick?

When I ordered from FA, it was one button. I think they just have two pictures to give multiple angles in one shot.

OMG. These guys are no joke. They shipped within an hour of ordering. I don't even remember the last time I ordered something and had it ship the same day. And I never realized how close they are to me.

Focus Attack is the real deal. When I started my first mod project (LED mod), the cool thing was that I could go to the store pages to get video tutorials.

Yeah, Focusattack don't mess around. They could use a larger selection, though. No solid color Seimitsu buttons? What the hell?

Dammit...looking at dual modding my TE, it looks the Cerberus board isn't compatible with my Round 1 version. Any other suggestions for a sodderless solution?

Looks like it's being delivered today. :)
Have to go get it before the weather gets too bad. I ordered stuff from Art last week and it hasn't shipped yet. Like day and night.

No it won't. People are working on making a layout for that stick.

I love FA. The guy who runs it is really cool, too. If I ever have a question about stick stuff, I just ask on the FA Facebook page and usually get an answer within an hour. He'll also throw in a card from a random fighting game based TCG, which I'm always excited about.

I grabbed a plexi and a print from Art a few months ago. It showed up over two weeks after I ordered it, and was packaged in a way that left light scratches on the plexi. Very disappointing.

Damn Feb. is a fucked up month. I'm spending way too much money between games/sneakers and now arcade sticks.

HORI just announced their shooting game arcade stick. The HORI Real Arcade PRO.AX S+G designed for shooting games.

It's the N stick base they have used for SCV/DOA5/TTT2 using the Astro City layout and a first combination of Sanwa/Seimitsu parts.

Seimitsu LS-32-01 lever and Sanwa OBSF-30RG buttons.
