So if Smash were to take some crazy pills and try copying PSABR's approach of taking two different series and mashing them into a combo stage, what two franchises would you want to see mashed together for a stage?
After the incredibly obvious Mario and Sonic mash up stage I'd like to see a mash up between Metroid and F-Zero, a F-Zero style stage where you fly along a race track randomly stopping and dodging cars, but the track is in an F-Zero lava style area with rising acid and a dark environment to keep everyone on there toes

I guess you could make one that's a mix of Metroid and Ice Climbers where you have Sheegoth and other Metroid ice enemies attack a stage where you jump around an ice mountain *shrugs*

Hmm I haven't played Prime 3 in years. Completely forgot about it.
There should be a Zebes stage, like a cave with platforms in the middle, and it's gimmick should be that it's really dark sometimes and then other times aci- OH FUCK.

Phendrana Drifts, Sanctuary Fortress, and Skytown sound like pretty great ideas to me.
Given that Lost World has a 3DS version I wouldn't hold my breath.
Metroid Prime locations I want in terms of order:
1) Sanctuary Fortress
2) Skytown
3) Phendrana Drifts
EDIT: I did not see MrSaturn99's post about this. Those locations are the best in the Prime games (or just about any Metroid game) and have some awesome music.

If Mother Brain wasn't an AT the final area of Metroid/Super Metroid would have made an amazing stage/boss fight
The Wii U version was the only version that was worth a damn.

For the 3DS, I'd go with either Desert Ruins, Frozen Factory, or Sky Road. I'd say add a Rush song, but the 3DS version only has 2 tracks per stage. Hopefully the Wii U version will get one.
1. Sanctuary Fortress: Stage gimmick: portals that generate at random that will strand you in a pocket dimension for a bit. You can only directly attack people on the same plain that you're on so if you get locked in Dark Aether while the opponent's on Light Aether, you can't do much more than troll some environmental aspects until you leave the portals. Also, you take damage by the second on each visit there.
Alternatively, Rezbits float by and every now and again the level warps between light and dark world. In the background you could see the remains of a Quadraxis prototype then when shifted to the dark world you see it come to life and just be Quadraxis off in the background.
2. Planet Phaaze: Want this one mostly for its truly alien looks. Either the upper most area with the Phazon tendrils dangling in the atmosphere or the inner sanctum where Drk Samus was fought would be cool, although I'd love a view of the planet in the latter too.
3. Skytown (Prime 3): Would make for a wonderful looker with great lighting effects.
4. Maridia (Super Metroid): I'm thinking something like that one underwater tube section would be cool.
Edit: We could also go full 2spooky4me and use G.F.S Valhalla from Prime 3 and just crank the "wreckage in space and living things everywhere" angle up to 11. That area is still the most unsettling thing in the entire franchise.

Yeah I'd say Phendrana, Phaaze, Sanctuary Fortress, and Skytown are some of the best picks for locations. Although even a location based on Tallon IV's opening area or an area based on the Chico ghosts would be cool. Either way something better than the shitty stages we've gotten for Metroid.
What? You mean you DIDN'T want to move your 3DS in awkward ways to get a chaos emerald? Or spend 10+ minutes pushing around snowballs?

Does anyone else think Sakurai would push for an odd number because of the Random slot? Unless they're going to toss out the random slot this time, the roster will be asymmetrical or they'll have to find a creative way to throw Random in the roster and keep it symmetrical.

Okay, sorry for being an asshat.
I'd like so see a crossover stage between Donkey Kong and Star Fox. The battle starts on a small tropical island with water-filled edges, but the entire stage is frozen over by the Snowmads like at the beginning of Tropical Freeze. Landmasters emerge from the ground and begin rolling over the ice, making the stage scroll like Big Blue. When the Landmasters reach DK Island and the Snowmad ship, they fire on it, the lights briefly making the stage silhouetted like some Tropical Feeze levels. A ship then transfers the tanks back to the initial location, now-unfrozen, and the Landmasters bury into the ground again.
Overly complicated and kinda stupid, but I tried.
I like the Wii U one too, but it seems a little "crowded" for a stage intended to be simple.

Its been said many times on here and in the MK8 thread when the initial MK8 info leaked. However ive yet to see any evidence or linking to this individual having actual info. Maybe people only take this person seriously because they are a mod on some random forum. Ive only spoken saying 'supposedly' or words like that because I haven't seen anything either way for sure to make this person gain any credibility.
