when are they announcing snake

3DS. It has the ghosts as hazards and the weird mechanic where one person can make them vulnerable, but only to them. It could probably work as a counterpick, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Ah, thanks. Yeah, if it has ghosts as hazards, I'm guessing #banned for tournaments.

Dr. Wily's Castle would be an amazing fucking stage without Yellow Devil.

Completely agree. Both the layout and aesthetics are great.

I found cross-over stages to be a horrible idea, never ever want to see that again.

Come on, you'd never wanted to see an F-Zero stage where the Star Fox team suddenly appears and engages in a dogfight with the Space Pirates, flying in and out between the loops of the F-Zero track as the racers zoom on by?

I don't like Bowser's new stance that much. Just looks really weird to me.

That's how he looks in literally everything other than Smash

Please no creepypaste BS this late into the night. I would get banned for what I would I say to someone posting it.
Yes, I get scared that easily.

I liked them a lot...although I liked the game a lot...

k_reign pls

well either way boss toggle would be a good idea, especially cause Wiley's Castle is currently considered awful by pretty much everyone

What does that have to do with what I said. XP But yeah, it really needs that. So much stages would be great without all the things happening to give others some advantage.

No.

I much rather see Star Fox x Metroid.

The Yellow Devil changes the dyanmic of the fight to the point to where it doesn't even feel like Smash, but rather a mini game out of Mario Party.

Avoid the Yellow Devil for as long as possible to outlast your opponents! Take a chance if you're brave and attack the Yellow Devil to try and win!.

Well Sakurai said Smash was a party game so I guess he's doing a good job!

And yet Nintendo is trying so hard to market it as a legitimate fighting game.

I mean, Nintendo opened up the event today with Bill Trinen playing 1v1 with some other guy specifically to show us the combo potential of some of the characters.

Really? The crossover stages was one of the few things I really liked in PSASBR. It was really amusing seeing Super Series Franchise X be invaded by something... decidedly less so. Or vice-versa, even! Hades and Locoroco were like the best stages in that game, at least aesthetically.

I would kill for Smash to have a crossover stage or two. Give me a Bridge of Eldin that gets ravaged by a battle between Advance Wars armies, or a serene Saffron City that is suddenly interrupted by an intense battle between the MOTHER characters and a Satrman.

It was done terribly in PSASBR, I feel. Maybe if it were more random, but when you see it done once, that's it, that's the only way it's going to continue to be done.

We already have that in Brawl.

It was a joke. It's something Sakurai said in an interview once. It would be a fantastic idea and not make it like PASBR at all.

Sakurai also expressed a disinterest in enlarging the roster beyond what Brawl offered, but that clearly doesn't seem to be the case now.

And again, stage bosses, from what we've seen with the Yellow Devil, are far more invasive than just background stage hazards. He's going to upset quite a few fans if there isn't a way to disable them.

It has the ability to be a legitimate fighting game when you start taking out certain options and cut the game down to the skill between the two players instead of the randomness that the default version of the game is.

I guess I laid on the sarcasm a bit too think there? But yeah, NoA is pushing this as a fighting game yet Sakurai doesn't see it that way. It's going to be very interesting seeing the reaction upon release and the months afterward from the comp scene.

Since the game is basically made to be customized to your liking (Hence being able to adjust items, properties, win conditions, etc.), I don't see the "default game" as really being the intent.

Case in point, I never play without stocks.

Nah, the exclamation point gave it away.

The stage boss issue is just something I'm really concerned about. YD pretty much ruins Wiley's Castle for me (and many others), and I'm worried that other stage bosses, if they can't be disabled, will similarly ruin otherwise great stages.

Guys, what if the reason the picture of the Polar Bear in Smash Run was removed from Miiverse because it wasn't an enemy, it was a playable character?

It's about time Ice Climber got another representative!

I actually think it's fascinating to see NoA give the game this huge competitive push, even featuring 1v1 stock battles with no items, and Sakurai giving interviews about how Smash is a party game and how it would never go as far as Melee again in appealing to the core player.

I'd love to know what happens behind the scenes. I'm sure NoA has social media trackers, input from E3, and their own personal contact with the competitive players/commentators. How they relay that information and how the discussion goes with NCL and Sakurai would be endlessly fascinating.

It's an interesting dichotomy.

It's in Nintendo's long term financial interests for Smash to be as competitive as possible. If they can make a game that is widely accepted by the competitive Smash community, then they've basically created a non-stop commercial for the Wii U that will run for the next 5+ years.

So the letter on Smashboards led me to Chrom's Facebook, which led me to Lucina's Facebook

Man, I didn't know these were real people, I almost feel bad about the boots post way back when
"You'd.....like to come with me?"

Lucina crosses her arms and ponders her sisters request for a moment.

"Well....it certainly would help me get at least one item in the preparations out of the way....and you certainly are never dull company, Cynthia."

Lucina smiles a bit, and gives a small nod at the request.

"Of course. But only if you promise to show me a thing or two about how to act at such an event. Truth be told iv'e never attended one like it."
