Tbf the reaction would be hilarious if they dropped Mario.

I think there are too many Pokémon, getting rid of Pichu and Mewtwo was the way forward. Now continue by getting rid of Jugglypuff and replacing it with Brock.

Yup. He's also in every Smash game to date - he was in the background of Planet Zebes in 64, in the intro and as trophy in Melee, and of course represented twice as a boss in Brawl's Subspace Emissary, and again with trophies/stickers/music.

Wow, how did I not know that until know? That's awesome.

Haha! Is he still banned, by the way? I thought most bans were just for like a week or two.

It's only been about 9 days, and this is hardly the first time he's been banned.

Brock makes more sense from a fighting game perspective,

Brock isn't a Pokemon. He's just a guy.

Clones are far superior to alternate costumes.
Honestly I always enjoyed playing Falco over Fox way more. Both Melee and Brawl.

I'm not blaming anyone that can't tell the smaller differences between them, but it's those small differences that can change how a character play completely. I'm more of a defensive player so Falco appealed to me way more.

Yeah, I didn't notice the differences much either when I was a kid. They're immediately apparent to me now since I know what to look for.

All jokes aside, I think the only Pokemon newcomer I'd actually be hyped about (aside from Ludicolo) would be an actual Trainer fighting. Since the entire point is that the trainers themselves don't fight, I'd be really interested in seeing a moveset based on their items, or HMs or something.

Trainer Red got the smashball!

Professor Oak: Red... there's a time and place for anything...

Also, I think it's time Balloon kid from Balloon fight gets a shot in the big league.

Summary of wanted characters

- Donbe
- Captain Rainbow
- Snake
- Shulk
- Chibi Robo
- Balloon Kid
- Brock

N's the only one they'd ever even consider, and it'd probably heavily, heavily involve Reshiram/Zekrom if he was in.

half of these are terrible ideas. Shulk, Snake, and Chibi Robo are the only ones on this list that even have a shot at getting in, especially since Villager already has Balloon Kid's sole move.

And the tradition will continue with him being a boss and trophy in Smash 4.

Sakurai teasing Ridley fans since 1999.

Yup. It's why I said we (being long time Smash/Ridley fans) are just going to swallow it if Ridley misses out again. We're used to it. Or, well, I am, at least. Nothing will make my heart bleed as much as the first time seeing the Melee intro.

I don't think they'd only consider N, they'd probably go for one of the main trainers.

I meant more that I couldn't see any trainers actually stepping onto the battlefield in any way. I could see another trainer commanding Pokemon in the background, but N's the only one I could see getting onto the battlefield. Even then, he'd probably (and should) be riding Reshiram/Zekrom.

I can imagine other trainers stepping into battle, they'd probably be zoning type characters with lots of items.

I might say Game and Watch. A character that combines aspects of all the old G&W games was pretty novel.

But Game&Watch has some sort of history behind it. Jigglypuff was just popular in the 1st season of the Pokemon show, she was never good/used in the videogames or trading card games. It just makes me question why from the original 151 why did Sakurai pick Jigglypuff?

And the Wii Fit trainer is just some woman? There can be sexual tension which Jigglypuff just cannot provide.

...that ended very differently than it started. I'm all for sexual tension in my Smash games, but that's what the FE cast exists for. I simply meant that the Pokemon series is always represented by Pokemon, not people (let's face it, Pokemon Trainer was just an anchor of sorts; Squirtle, Ivysar, and Charizard were the stars.)

you are to OT 11 what beezlbufo was to OT 10

Beelzebufo's alt account confirmed.

Didn't he want Meowth but eventually settled on Jiggly? I forget the whole rumor/story.
