But Game&Watch has some sort of history behind it. Jigglypuff was just popular in the 1st season of the Pokemon show, she was never good/used in the videogames or trading card games. It just makes me question why from the original 151 why did Sakurai pick Jigglypuff?

You answered your own question. Jigglypuff was already very recognizable from the show. I mean in Red/Blue, Pikachu is not a featured character at all. He was still the mascot of the franchise due to Nintendo pushing Pikachu in marketing. The same thing happened with Lucario and now Greninja.

A couple ideas:

- Keeping Pace is a great battle theme, and it would give the game some well-deserved Paper Mario representation.
- Bamboozle Village from Wario Land Shake It. Another underrepresented series, and since the Wario stages will almost certainly be WarioWare-based, a song is the next best thing.
- Route 4 from Pokemon X/Y. Easily my favorite tune from that game.

Specifically from Pokemon X/Y I want Lysandre's theme in Smash. It's my fav from this gen of Pokemon

Okay, be honest here.
Would you rather have a roster of, let's say 50 characters, with Jigglypuff included, or a roster of 49 characters but without Jigglypuff?
Because that's pretty much exactly what cutting Jigglypuff (if it were planned from the start) would amount to. There would be no character to replace that "slot".

I'm not a selfish guy, I know people like her so I'll let her stay.

What's this about wanting Jigglypuff cut? Anyone who wants this is an unclean heathen.

Why actively hope for anyone to be cut anyway? It's not like someone not being cut affects the chances of your own dream character.

Slots man... the SLOTS.

No one from the original 12 should be cut, ever. You're wrong about cuts not affecting the inclusion of other characters. If they include Ridley, they will have to cut at least six characters to fit the sheer volume of his data onto the game disc.

They could totally give Jigglypuff some new Fairy moves or spruce its moves up with Fairy-type properties to make it somewhat fresh, as well as to add some extra Gen 6 flair.

y'all hyping me up for some jiggly

Do you mean you just don't like the character, don't like fighting against Jigglypuff, and would be 100% okay with her being cut?

I can understand that. I kind of feel the same way about Lucario - an utterly 'blah' edition to the roster imo, and I wouldn't be the least sorry to see him gone - but I don't actively want him to get cut. It's easy enough just to ignore a character you don't like and never play with/against him.

I retroactively want Jigglypuff to be cut if that story about choosing Jigglypuff vs. Meowth in 64 is true.

From what I remember, Meowth was supposed to be included together with Jigglypuff and the rest, as well as Dedede and one other character (I think it's Mewtwo) in the 1st Smash. Lack of development time cut Meowth and others. Unfortunately, it still never happened up to now.

I'm guessing she'll get fairy effects similar to how Peach got heart effects on some attacks in Brawl.

SmashGaf is still cucco for Jiggly puffs, yay!

I can't get a pic of it, but in the Super Smash Bros for 3ds Trailer in the NA 3DS eShop, there's a nice split second cut of a Steel Divers trophy that I don't recall seeing before.

I contributed.

Weren't Bowser and Peach planned for Smash 64 as well? I recall reading something about that.

Yes, let me put this in perspective. I played almost 1000 hours of brawl and Jigglypuff KO totals are in the low double digits. Probably would've been the same in Melee if CPU stats wasn't counted towards the total.

I know people don't like miis but we should set up a tournament that you only play as mii only one day. To see how much smashgaf's global smash power level. :P

Just for fun here's who I think would've been cool to see in Project X Zone had Nintendo thrown their characters in:

PAIRS:

Marth x Shiida (Fire Emblem)
Andy x Sami (Advance Wars)
Saki x Airan (Sin and Punishment)
Froy x Freia (Zangeki no Reginleiv)
Shulk x Fiora (Xenoblade Chronicles)

SOLO:

Raymond Brice (Disaster Report)
Captain Falcon (F-Zero)
Samus (Metroid)
Takamaru (Murasame Castle)
Pit (Kid Icarus)
Lip (Panel de Pon)

Sort of going with the all-humanoid, Japan-centric idea that most of Project X Zone goes with. Also the more ANIME Nintendo characters.

Legend of Zelda is pretty anime
