I'm well aware Marth's playable, yes.
Takamaru would be a pretty cool contrast to Little Mac given the East/West retro-reps and Goroh's obviously not happening for a samurai rep, but I won't be heartbroken if he doesn't get in.

Also, I seriously did a double-take. Takamaru's face on that Smash trophy looks SO similar to Sakurai, it's uncanny.
Makes sense to make Takamaru as an alt when even Lucina isn't.

Wow. I have to say, I barely knew who Takamaru was until people started talking about him for Smash, but these shots alone get me hyped for him. Excellent design.

I'm a bit worried about music, much of what we've heard is old music. Then again, pretty much every Nintendo game they'll be drawing from has pretty great music and nice quality as well.

I'm totally down with Takamaru making it in. Even though he's another sword user, he's a SAMURAI. And a very solid retro rep. Plus his game actually looks fun.
I also would be fine with him not making it, but I'd be hyped if he did. And for some reason I fell like he is making it...

Yeah, in this particular case, a faithful re-creation would be ace. Pit's redesign was for the better looking at how he was depicted on the OG Kid Icarus box art, but Taka's base design is already pretty awesome. I know a lot of people like the Samurai Warriors thing because of the hawk embroidered on the jacket, but less is more just this once.

He's from Nazo no Murasame Jo AKA The Mysterious Murasame Castle, an action game for NES. It will come to 3DS eShop in August 7th, which marks the first time the game has appeared in America. It hit European eShop a few weeks ago for the first time as well. Japan will also get a Wii U eShop version this week.

I'm sure Heath, the king of Takamaru hype around here, could give you the full story, but from what I gather: he was the protagonist of Mysterious Murasame Castle, an old Famicom game, and he reappeared in Nintendo Land. And he's a samurai. And he has blue hair(?)
Other than that, I got nothing.
