MGS4 could've been up there if it weren't for the story going crazy and the gameplay going to crap past Act 2. I won't hold Peace Walker to too much since it was a PSP game after all, but the story would have been better off without the
overuse of The Boss's death
. MGSV is looking fantastic though, incredibly hyped for it.

Although it seems likely, 100.00 seems like a strange number to be set at, meaning the boss was either completely uninteracted with (which would make sense, since it's being used for footage-but then why would they leave dev mode on?), or that it could be a flat number that its set to regardless of the stage.

Question: What makes you think that "For Glory" mode is in any way acknowledging our competitive scene? I don't see it. Ranked online is common practice everywhere else and Nintendo is just getting into comprehensive online. It isn't a nod to us in any way, imo. Its just a good online mode.

D1: I hope you feel different after seeing how involved Nintendo is with our scene post-EVO 2014.

There was a (completely fake) leak awhile ago that said there was a Wii U exclusive mode where 1 person controlled a boss while others fought against you. Always sounded like a cool idea to me.
 
By the way, MGS2 is clearly the superior Metal Gear Solid game. 3 might have had the edge in actual mechanics and level design, but the atmosphere, themes and script of 2 are the series' best.
 
If TPP is able to have a good story alongside the gameplay from GZ, I could see it surpassing Snake Eater for my favorite MGS game, I just hope it won't drag on too long and remembers to not be 80% cutscenes

There were a ton of "leaks" that spawned around the same time claiming this boss mode. I believe the original leak it came from seemed believable enough and can easily be debunked if there isnt an August Nintendo Direct with a character trailer which has Metaknight in it and I think they were saying it'd be Shulk's reveal trailer but idk there were too many "leaks" that came out around the same time.

It's worth noting that many people have had extremely similar ideas. Leaks with that idea-a boss mode-should only be believe if they have strongly specific details that get confirmed.

The original concept for Rising was actually a "hunting" stealth/action game. That was all before Platinum fixed the game from Konami's internal mess though.
 
MGS2: Substance > MGS3: Subsistence > MGS2 ≥ MGS1 = MGS3 > The goofy stuff from Peace Walker but not the creepy goofy stuff > the first two acts of MGS4 if you squint hard > a flaming planetoid of human feces the size of Ceres > The grindy parts of PW > Everthing else about MGS4 > Dying and being sent to Hell > Portable Ops

Oh yes, I've seen this. There's a thread about it on Smashboards (in the groups section, which is members only). Currently there's some speculation that TBR actually refers to cut characters (likely Wolf, Ice Climbers and Lucas) which funnily enough lines up with some other leaks. Coincidence? Maybe not.

Stupid leak imo, but not very off from my thoughts as to what the final roster would be. That said, I think L would correspond to Lucario and not Luigi, as we've seen so little of Lucario and so much of Luigi.

Also, two M's just means two different Ms, not Metoid and another M (though Lucario would be likely).

tbr could mean "to be removed", but then the amount of veterans would be really, really stretching. That'd mean almost no cuts from Melee or Brawl, excluding the ones being cut. I mean, the current one requires at least Mewtwo, Snake, Roy, etc. to return. This would require all of those three and then Dr. Mario, a Pokemon Trainer Pokemon, or Pichu or Young Link to return.

Those VR Missions in MGS2 Substance are some of the best gameplay in the entire series.
 
I only played Metal Gear Acid for a bit back then when my friend lent me his PSP.....I liked it? Thats all I can add to the MGS discussion sadly. Yes I know Acid is not acknowledged by Kojima...

Well Squirtle, Ivysaur and possibly also Snake might not have been mentioned because lots of people already assume that they're cut at this point. That'd be five/six cuts in total.

Fun fact: Ac!d 2 featured Steroscopic 3D with the use of an addon. You could even import pictures from MGS3 and view them in 3D.
