yeah, my brother said there's probably potential for that move for villager players. something we've yet to discover yet.

People are probably just going to use it for stage control and to use the axe if it's one of villager's KO moves.

I think the fact that it wilts is a bad idea though, it should atleast take longer than it currently does.

I imagine it's one of those 'good in FFA when noone is paying attention to what you're doing, worse in every other mode' moves.

It'll be a great obstacle for players trying to recover to a stage's ledge.

I can see the youtube videos now - Tree Trolling! YOLO

If there's one thing I'm looking forward to in terms of youtube videos for smash 4, it's watching tryhard kids post their combo videos where they just do a load of moves on a motionless AI that don't actually combo against real player.

I mean, who can forget the devastating super combo that is PK Fire + Baseball bat.

...Now I really want to do parodies of this shit but in smash 4.

Hmm, I must've missed it.

Just timed it in the video, it's about 12 seconds from full growth to wilting.

I haven't found any scans yet, but apparently this week's Famitsu article focuses on Rosalina (including her down special customizations), and Sakurai talks about the game speed in his column.

Haha, that's interesting. I want to know more about Sakurai's stance on game speed.

Now THIS, I'm interested in.

...Unless he says he's changed the game speed to be more like Brawl based on fan input.

Y'know, back when there were discussions about Robin's potential to be a newcomer, I thought to myself "eh, I don't find that terribly appealing". But now that he's been announced and I've seen what Sakurai came up with, I feel that he's one of the most exciting additions to the cast.

Sakurai does wonders with characters. I remember seeing Pit in brawl and was kind of annoyed. "Who's this kingdom hearts reject?", flash forward to Kid Icarus: Uprising, and now I absolutely love that Pit is in smash.

In all honesty, he could probably make me like a playable duck hunt dog, much to my chagrin.

I wonder if there's enough time to plant a tree after a KO.

Yeah, I was kind of thinking it'd be like ROB being able to fully-charge his Gyro during the invincibility frames on spawn. You'd be giving up movement or aggressive pressuring in favor of getting a special loaded pre-emptively.

I personally think it'd be cool if Villager's custom down specials were fruit trees that you can shake instead of chop down, and each fruit has a special property when thrown.

That's how I felt about pac-man. Still think he's a dumb character, but sakurai made him kinda charming.

Sakurai and team are magic. They can make any video game character appealing somehow.

That's a great idea. You know, I hadn't thought at all about Villager's custom moves. It's easy enough to imagine various tweaks for the Lloid Rocket, but what about the Pocket? Maybe instead of keeping the item to throw later, he could absorb it to restore some HP, like the PK Magnet.

This. I thought Pac-Man in smash would be stupid, but here I am, kind of liking how the team pulled it off.

I imagine there are some moves that cannot be customized, like the pocket and the KO punch

Hey did AnthOny make his write up?

I would have done one myself since I did play hours and hours of both versions but he can probably voice things like mechanics and stuff way better than I can.

I'm watching Guardian of the Galaxy tonight, but I think I might have part 1 up before tomorrow's POTD. Fingers crossed.

You could still even have customization for them. Like have pocket only reflect or only store items (which can't be used again), or have the standard version of Mac's B move change, but have the KO punch show up when the meter's full regardless.

I dunno man, people thought that about the kirby suck too and look how that went. I'm eagerly anticipating the customization of the pocket. :)

Makes sense..

Welp

I guess an instant reflect sounds cool (Pocket is considered a reflect move, it's just that you control whenever you send something back) but storing items and not being able to use them sounds useless compared to the normal Pocket attack. It'd have to have perks like catching items I guess? But that would make it unfair to make a move that counters and neuters items.

could probably convert caught attacks/items into health or something
