Yeh, Doctors, teachers, authors, etc are all referred to as sensei.

Yup. And there's no reason to believe any of those characters are guaranteed. The only characters left I'd be shocked being cut would be Ganondorf, Ness or Wario.

I guess auto-ledge might be out in a sense or become more stricter.

You only ledge grab during neutral falling or helpless animations IRRC. That and Pit was facing away from the ledge.
