I am baffled as to why Donkey Kong Country Returns Vocal Mix is in the 64 stage and not in the new one.

ALSO WHY DIDN'T THEY BRING YOSHI STORY 64

Hmm. If I want to be better at the game, I should probably use the C-stick? I never touch it.

not really, if you have good precision your stick inputs you don't really need it, certainly it's helpful for me, since I usualy waste my second jump doing Uairs, but I know I can live without it, since I didn't have in on the 3ds and it didn't matter much

I'm unlocking content before friends come over tomorrow, and to get Pac-Land I had to complete Smash Tour on all three boards.

Suffice it to say, I think I've had enough Smash Tour. I literally fell asleep at points.

I cheated and used the hammer I received from completing an event to unlock the pac-land stage.

I really suck at using the pro controller for some reason. Some of my attacks don't come out on time sometimes.

Smash noob here.

Is there an good place for tutorials, combos and strats?

This game is TOUGH. Anyone who says Smash is all nonsense, and doesn't take skill is insane.

Getting my ass handed to me in classic lvl 9 at the final boss. That sword form just knocks me into next week.

How do I unlock Dr. Mario? Everywhere I read online it says to complete classic mode using Mario at intensity 4.0 or higher. I just now did exactly that and nothing happened?

Beat a hard-level master order I believe.

Most of my matches have been lag fest. I have the adapter but that doesn't seem to help. Every other game I have that has online is perfectly smooth.

But that girl beat all of the pro players!
lol.
I'm waiting for EU Rd so I can't help:(

Has anyone got a high level Amiibo? Are they more realistic than normal cpus?

Oh and just mentioning, whoever I played online with a while ago, super smooth matches for me, aside from that small big of lag when it was 3 of us. The 4p matches were smooth sailing.

Also Smash with items (even an edited amount) is still fun as hell.

Are you sure the Wii U is using that adapter? You might need to double check in system settings that there isn't a wifi connection still set up. Also, if you can find someone in the same state to test, and that person has no lag, and you still lag playing with them, I don't know what to suggest. :(

I just played the Warioware level on my own system. That is TERRIFYING. Level:
The random silhouettes walking past the window, including UPSIDE DOWN LEGS, the TV going to horror movie static or a test pattern, the door random opening, the drawing pad showing the mother there. It is seriously messed up.

Wait I don't have an SD card so I don't know but can you only zoom into trophies and look around them in their photo mode?

Because in the Gallery you don't have that option.

Yea it's using the adapter. Some matches were good but most of my 4 player matches have been really bad.

So Best Buy sold my preorder bundle to someone else, but the manager had someone drive to another store and get me another one, plus they took $20 off. Since I have GCU, the bundle was $60 for me - not bad.

Then I come home after 3 hours of dealing with this nonsense to find out I have no internet for some reason. I am posting on 4G right now.

Happy Nintendo Day!

This game is not that bad with my wifi connection. I got one or two really laggy matches and they were in the for fun mode.

Are you kidding? Mario's the fucking man in this game. Though, he's my main, so I'm biased. :P

Yeah, I would have to say that a good Mario is harder for me to deal with than any other character actually. The water cannon is actually really effective in the right hands. Seems more powerful than in Brawl.

Edit- also, do amiibo's level up really quickly? I was under the impression it would take a week or so of solid playing to max them out, but it seems that some people have already hit lvl. 50 with theirs? I was hoping for something slower, like the chao garden in sonic adventure 2.

That's 4 different people who could be in different states who all have to have great ping to each other. If possible, try a 1v1 with 1 person in the same state who gets good games before they play you. That should help determine if it's some sort of general problem or P2P problem involving your location/connection.

I'm also baffled how the new Smash additions for the DK franchise are based around Returns instead of the vastly superior Tropical Freeze. The African savanna level would've made for a spectacular stage.

Dixie Kong being added in via DLC in favor of Cranky Kong (to appeal to the geezer demographic!) would be the only bigger travesty.

okay, just played the game for the first time -- going into it having not played smash in about 10 years. I played melee a ton throughout the gamecube years, but never had a wii.

spent most my time in training mode checking out the different characters, trying to re-learn the controls and get a feel of who does what.

initial observations from someone who hasn't touched smash in 10 years and is trying to get a lay of the land. let me know how on target I am or am not.

- bowser jr surprised me with his diverse moveset and fun playstyle, I think this guy has potential for me, I'll probably try to learn him more
- captain falcon seems promising
- rosalina & luma looks to be capable of some really annoying play in the right hands, I didn't go deep with it yet but the ability to position luma and perform combos seems to have a ton of potential
- I think shulk has potential, but looks to be a more advanced type character that I wouldn't want to get into until I was more familiar with the game
- zero suit samus has a diverse moveset AND insane mobility, making me think she's also got a ton of potential
- greninja seems even faster, but lacks as impressive of a moveset -- may look into him more later

gonna hit training mode and try some more characters.

Does anyone know if the Amiibos cheat? That's the main reason I was not feeding them equipment, so they'd survive on their stupendous AI alone. Unfortunately, I am seeing very suspicious percentages, like my Peach up smash or side-B doing maybe 12%, but the level 50 Amiibo doing 20% or so. Surely that's not just move fatigue or something, especially since I die often and it would reset.

If they ARE cheating that sucks. D:

Me and 8 more friends met up for some smashing today. What Sakurai & co. created is truly the ultimate party game. Massive kudos to them. :D

So freaking jealous of you guys... I dreamed that the game was going to be available here in Europe today for some reason, but I wake up to disappointment :(

6 freaking days..

Sadly seems about 95% confirmed that the Amiibo cheats. Level 50 Amiibo peach does 14-16% side B if I'm not mistaken. Humans do only 9%, even if it's fresh out of the gate. Likewise I assume the other moves scale, plus potentially their knockback. The most obscene case of this may be the up smash, which seems to do something on the level of 30-40% uncharged from the Amiibo Peach unless I'm totally bonkers.

So no wonder they get so difficult. It's like getting KOs in Cruel Smash: Difficult, not because AI is good, but because the odds are artifically stacked against you.

Well, that's a stupid way to make them better.

But they can't be used online, right?

Literally did the same thing.

Woke up just as I put the disc in. I think I have a problem. :(
and that problem is that Smash isn't out yet

Figured they'd work like this. Still think it was a little sleazy to advertise it like it was something different though.

If you think the level is terrifying you should try the minigame it's based off of. It's amazing.
