Super Smash Bros. for Wii U |OT| True Potential of Smash Bros.

P.S- I don't think I can ever go back to the 3DS version after this.
I knew that after a week of playing the 3DS version. It's cute, and pretty good if you simply must play some smash and you have to be on the go, but that shit is getting relegated. Smash was always made for greater resolutions, and don't get me started on that shitty circle stick.

You know, despite all the complaints about losing track of your character on the 3DS version, I never had a problem with it... but in 8-player Smash I find myself wondering where I am at times.

Happens to me as well haha.

Well, Smash party for today at my house. Bring beers, pizza and anything you can think up. >:D

So I will never be into these games because it just doesn't click with me but I was watching my nephew play it and he was fighting against Mario and it was a Mario Galaxy looking stage and it looked sublime. I cannot wait for a proper new Mario Game its going to look incredible.

Definitely. In a small map it get's very chaotic with all the on screen effects and in a large stage(Palutena's Temple, GCO) it get's a little tricky finding yourself.

Same. I never had issues with knowing where my character was on the 3DS. In the Wii U version, I sometimes do not realize I am falling down a hole until it to too late.

Those nerfs to greninja really bother me, destroyed his up smash IMO. I just stick with bowser Jr now, he was my second main anyway, greninja got demoted to 2nd lol

Also smash tour is really fun. I actually enjoy it more than smash run. It's great that you don't need to have to unlock the custom moves as well to get characters with them. Makes it more fun when you don't know what moveset you'll have

Can someone give any tips for the challenge unlocking "Into the Space Pirate Ship?" The one that requires:
"Play as Palutena in Stage 2 and score 80000 in Target Blast using the back wall"
?

EDIT: Never mind, figured it out. I didn't know which
back wall
it was referring to.

Can you share? Haven't figuted this one out myself.

Love that stage

I'm enjoying watching my two amiibos battle it out against level 9 CPU's in 8-player Smash. My Mario is kicking butt. Got 3 more amiibos coming, but I now want to order 3 more to have some 8-player amiibo action.

I'm terrible at this game but I've been having a hell of a lot of fun playing it with AI on my ability level.

I also somehow managed to unlock Duck Hunt by getting super lucky on my second attempt on the Cruel Smash mode. An AI character accidentally blocked another one from grabbing the ledge and fell to his death. It counted! I died about 2 seconds later.

The first time I tried to do it I think I hit them twice before I got blasted away. <_<

I've been messing with the Stage builder; I created this stage which is based on the Phoenix Nest from Kid Icarus Uprising (medium size, track: Boss Fight 1 (KIU). Want to create a stage from the Mother series (since Magicant is not in the Wii U version). Been trying with Mt. Itoi, the Giant Step and Sea of Eden but can't get a result I'm satisfied with, any suggestions? (either to improve this stage, or to create the next?)

EDIT: Oops, forgot the pic. Sorry about the quality, for some reason I can't take snapshots.

What's the fastest way to unlock the characters? Assuming there is a quick way to do it that is... I randomly unlocked one from just playing smash mode and after a bunch of games it gave me the message "a new challenger appears."

All I did was play some sp and I had them all within a day.

Don't remember if I asked this question, but is anyone having difficulty performing light directional A attacks? Whenever I go for a light Up+A with the Pro controller I almost always perform a power attack instead.

Stage creator in this game makes the most basic actions impossible.. Take for example, when you're drawing on the grid and you want to click on the point where a ledge is recognized.. Well you bloody can't! You could draw to the point instead of click, but if you wanted a diagonal line to that point, you're shit out of luck.

This is easily the most thrown together piece of crap creator I've ever seen. It's incredibly obtuse, finicky, makes you want to pull your hair out! You can't simply edit existing drawn objects, but have to redraw them entirely if you want to change a single pixel about them. I also thought for sure the number of placeable objects would increase, a la Brawl, but nope.

One step forward, two steps back.

Don't get me wrong, this game is fantastic, but why does it feel like a lot of the content is half made, as if rushed into final development? You think they would have had a list, from the start, of content that needs to be in the game, and of certain quality.

I need there to be Stage Creator DLC revamp, cause this ain't cutting it.

Love the game, guys, but I'm scratching my head here.

100 versus battles, put cpu on 300%, one stock just hit them once. Or ko yourself, but that would count as a lost I think

You only need 80, don't you?

And Duck Hunt is the last one, so instead of doing those last 10 matches you could just Kirbycide in Cruel Smash to get him + stage.

Barely tilt the stick upward (less than you think) and it will detect an uptilt attack.

EDIT: Don't mean to sound demeaning, you probably already know how haha. I haven't had issues with getting it to work on the Pro.

Humm I'm not sure to be honest, 80-100? I just distinctly remember unlocking dh and then getting a message that I've done over 100 battles, but then again I had done online battles too idk

Did 5 for glory matches last night and the online feels good! Especially with a GC controller and wired connection. Felt some slight input delay but nothing too bad. Love this game.

Apparently there's a challenge where you have to get 8 kills in a single cruel smash as Lucina. And another where you have to beat classic 9.0 without losing a life. Both can't be hammered.

Samurai hates us.

This and Samus one confirm the existence of Limited edition amiibos.

Limited Edition Roll Animation Link and Dual Cannon Samus.

Just started playing online this morning and did pretty well. 14 matches with 9 wins as Lucina. I initially retired her after a streak of really miserable losses in the 3DS version but what a difference an actual analog stick makes. She's really great.
