The majority of our games were close, I think you're being a little drastic here! Besides, playing with skilled people is the only way to improve and GAF is great for that!

I mean, I'm kind of in the same boat, right. I don't have the time to invest to ever become a pro, but I don't like losing so I keep playing to improve my game.

If you just keep playing you'll be fine!

I just re-read my last post and it sounds emo depressing lol. That wasn't my intention. What I wanted to say was I think it would be better off if someone who's a little more advanced than I am joins in my place.

Nah, there's all kinds of different skill levels in the bracket. It should just be a fun opportunity to test yourself against GAF and get some fun sets out of it. You'll have as much fun as anyone else would in your place, and that's the whole point of the tournament!

In my situation, event mode only has "Oh my fucking goodness this shit is annoying!!" hard and then normal and easy. It's quite aggravating.

I'd be fine with classic mode if it didn't knock back the difficulty.
 
Yooo Masked Man that FFA was great! Loved how I initially crashed the party with Ness and then there was that Falco/Pac-Man blaster/pac-pellet stalling at the end lol

Guess I'll do a real Ranbat tomorrow.

No apologies necessary. We all get discouraged sometimes. I had a set of 10 matches against a Marth a few nights ago where I went 8-2. No matter what I did, I was just not finishing the job. It can make you want to quit, but perseverance is the most important trait to cultivate in yourself. It's important that we learn to take our beatings and keep going on.

Put some equipment on - 9.0 gets a lot easier with customs.

I completed all of the Events, so if you need tips on any just let me know.

this... for example I thought I was pretty good at this game(still do P:) but after 3 ranbat loses in a row you begin to think about it, there is stuff I don't know of certain characters, and if I am good at something, and positive about, is learning!

keep playing beta, the only thing that will happen is that you will get better

and talking about playing, is anyone free for some 1 vs 1? :'D

That first stock you took was nice though! And thanks! I'm impressed with your pretty much all of your characters!

Edit: I can't believe that first counter almost killed me at such a low percent! I mean, yeah full charged Ganon forward smash but I was still shocked, haha

Ooh, ooh! I actually killed someone with Palutena's counter a few weeks ago. I didn't even know it was possible since it's the worst counter in the game.

I actually think Lucario has the best counter:
4 frame startup.
Throw invincible.
Counters projectiles mid-screen.

Omg thanks for joining in! My friend said he had a great time and would love to play with you again. He and I had been trying out some new characters 1v1, so it was cool to play in an FFA setting, too! And if you're around in the morning (my tonight), then we can do our ranbat then! :D

Personally I think the new 3DS stages are much better than the new Wii stages. Both have gems and duds, but there are a lot of 3DS stages I wish made it to the big boy version. I think including 3DS stages into the Wii U version (and vice versa) would be an easy thing to put in a DLC bundle.
 
GGs Tipster had a lot of fun, also good to play another fella who uses a bunch of characters xD

your Megaman, Zelda & Ike were hella good, I use them too, except for Megaman, I am just bad with him, thou I learned a few things about him by playing you

great games, hopefuly we can play again!

I main Link & second ZSS, thou I have been doing better with ZSS, after all it's a better character
also I like to use Marf from time to time, one of these people who won't give up on him, even if he is not as good as before xD

I assume your main is Megaman cause you gave one hell of a time with him xD

It shows, hahah. You seemed super comfortable with Link and your ZSS was beast. I also really liked your style with Marth. I, like everyone else, mained him in Melee and haven't been able to play him at all since Brawl. The way you used him was refreshing, haha.

Ah, yeah, Mega Man is my main haha.

Thanks, it was a lot of fun for me too, even though I sucked it up quite a few times :lol. The lag was a little annoying at times, but not too bad. Hopefully we can play again some time!

you should totally play marf with smooth landing, he feels quite a lot like he did in melee, or it's just all in my head mwhahaha

and thanks! I knew it, you were pretty good with all characters, but Megaman felt like you knew exactly what & when use something, like I said really good games Tipster

You can't really judge a character based on "the only _____ I've seen does"

Some Kirby main is gonna blow up a major tournament someday, his normals keep opponents from doing anything and his U-Tilt solves world hunger and brings Christmas cheer.

Of course not, that's not what I ment. I know Monster Zero has a great Kirby. His aerials are so fast and have lots of priority.
 
He has a good selection of kill moves too. Even that hammer people hate now (and is probably the single reason people wrote him off without realizing how good he actually is) is useful in certain situations (I just discovered that its hitbox extends to the feet: It can edgeguard).
 
It's fine I added everyone else. I had to go out for abit and I'm a bit busy today but when I get back home later today (Which should be a good time for the Americanos) I'll invite people.

Also, if anyone is interested, I just put a video regarding Sheik's Needle Cancel (Needle Into?) tech + tutorial and theories.
Sheik Needle Cancel

I find it to be a very powerful tool for Sheik players once you add it to your playstyle.
