Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 2: Where Pilotwings is apparently Minecraft

I have mixed emotions about adding more elements from Wario Land to Wario's moveset. On one hand, I love the Wario Land series, and on the other hand, I like his movest. I am decent with him in Brawl and would like to keep the Wario option open for "super serious" matches.

His side smash should definitely have more of the "comic booky" looking action lines and whatnot like Wario Land 3 and 4 does.

Project M Wario is best Wario.

Nintendo loves announcing Directs at the very last minute, so who knows?

Someday we'll reach the nintendo direct singularity: They will hold two simultaneous directs in which they announce they actually secretly already released a previously unannounced game without telling anyone.

Todays pic: Luigi's Mansion stage anyone? :P

Wonder what console they'd choose for that. Maybe Wii U would get a GC varient and 3DS get the LM2 mansion.

I assume in addition to Wuhu Island and the SNES airport, there will be a section from the n64 game in the background.

So we have two islands confirmed. So we just need to see an N64 stage and it really will be a tour of Pilotwings.

Also Wuhu means Miis potentially have a different stage.

I've never played any Pilotwings games, so I have no nostalgia for them, but I like the look of that stage. I'm assuming we battle on planes in the air, then it lands in certain sections of each of the islands and we battle there? Thats pretty cool.

Now, THAT is cool! :D

Fighting on a Bi-Plane. I imagine it'll fly around the stage and maybe it'll perform some stunt twists which force you to keep yourself balanced on-stage?

Neat.

Nintendo Sequels: Where Pilotwings is apparently Wii Sports

So Pilotwings is the new Delfino Plaza?
But I thought Skyloft was the new Delfino Plaza.
Anyway, I loved Delfino Plaza.
So I'm OK with having two new Delfino Plaza.

Maybe the plane never really lands? I don't think landing in the completely 2d SNES Pilotwings island would work well...

I suspect the Biplane will do barrel rolls, fly upside down, shake you off, so you land on a hang-glider, an airship... the lot. I can see this stage being one of the most interesting ones.
If it is true to the game the biplane will tilt back and forth bit by bit in order to line up with the runway.

I am so happy with this stage

Classic Pilotwings level, Wuhu Island in the background...fighting on a freaking bi-plane!

It only needs the Holiday-Stage from Pilotwings 64, a day and night toggle, different flying vehicles (as background, hazard or to jump on), fireworks at night and we have the perfect Pilotwings-Stage.

Looks great. How fun is Smash to play online against others? This game is on my radar, but I never really played Smash games.

Great if it worked. Brawl's lag was awful.

I imagine the plane'll also have weight physics which weigh each side down possibly shifting items off the edge if not careful.

Captain Falcon drives a space car. So it makes sense that Sakurai made a moveset for him out of the blue. Hell, Falcon Punch might as well be Smashes signature move, and people stuck with it. At least his Final Smash was a reference to what he actually does.
Also, Falcon's moveset is partially based on a an F-Zero racer. That's why he's super fast and has flames belching out like an exhaust pipe.

Only thing he's missing is the spin and the boost.

I totally called it in other thread that we might get other pilotwing islands and that we are getting Wuhu island. I'm very glad that it happened.

Btw, this is the second new stage after E3 right? First, it was KIU for 3DS, then this for Wii U. I guess they'll reveal another for 3DS some time later.

First stage that I, as a 3DS player, have found myself jealous of. Just looks really, really good.

I don't think every single stage will be exclusive to one version.
Battlefield for example isn't (you can argue that Battlefield and Final Destination are too important to be excluded, but still).
So, maybe, stages that represent at the same time both handled and home consoles will be in both versions. Like Gerudo Valley for example.

I think the only exclusives will be stages which actually appeared ONLY on one of them, like Skyloft or the stages from Mario 3D Land. More generic ones will probably appear on both version. For example Pokémon, I guess the Stadium will be on both, and the other stage à là Dialga/Palkia temple will be exclusive for 3DS.

All this to say: maybe Pilotwings will be on both.

Correction, three new stages that got announced on the website.

1. Pikmin stage
2. KI:U stage
3. Pilotwing or Wii Resort stage

However you might be right if they kept the pattern.
