Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 2: Where Pilotwings is apparently Minecraft

Because there is absolutely no reason each character shouldn't have one. Bar the few exceptions, almost every character is part of an active series and have had new titles since Brawl. The only reason this has even become an issue is people taking Sakurai's words to an extreme.

Why should being part of an active series prioritize stages if we already have the characters as representation? Smash isn't a promotion platform, it's a crossover action game.

I was just thinking about what Sakurai said....about him trying to shoot for a balance between Brawl and Melee..BUT.....what if Sakurai implemented these 3 games as a particular MODE. Yes, perhaps under Special Melee/Brawl/whatever they have something called Nostalgia Mode or something and you can select it and pick which version of Smash Bros you want to fight in, whether its O.G 64, Melee or Brawl. That game's particular physics would load up but everything else will remain the same...characters, stages, movesets, etc. JUST a physics change. So that means wavedashing and Melee's unique midair dodge would return along with the other nuances of its engine as well. What do you guys think? Im sure this would be pretty damn hard to accomplish but just wishful or outside-of-the-box thinking is all it is...

Yup. Would be too much work for a single version, let alone two, and all of it to throw a bone at what's, frankly, a vocal minority of those who'll purchase the games.

True, but at least everybody would be satisfied...those who prefer a particular version over another....hell I know a lot of people who idolize 64 version over all....same for Melee.....not so much on Brawl though lol...

qq moe, fall to the darkside :3

I can't tolerate moe, even if I try.

That reminds me, I wonder if the computer host from Nintendo Land will make an appearance as a character or assist trophy
Probably not as a character, but an assist trophy or a tutorial character (creativity!) definitely could work.

The idea sounds great but I'd imagine it would be too much work. You'd have to balance each character from each physic mode.

I had this idea years ago when thinking of what to do in order to please all potential people. But as others have said, it's a lot of work to implement a physics change with so many characters especially with balancing issues.

I would say to let the past games be what they are, and future titles to try to build something off of that. Ironic considering what we're talking about, no?

Yeah...regardless my expectations going into this Smash is purposely low since I was let down so much on Brawl, but so far I've been impressed....but I haven't officially reached full-on Hype mode like I was on Brawl....countless nights jamming the refresh button for the nightly update...only to be disappointed over some stupid stickers update or surprised and excited to see someone like Ike or King DeDeDe pop up....*sigh*.............

Speaking of I feel like even though hype was there just over the inclusion of Sonic and Snake, I feel like the other characters should have been handling better in their revealing. I for one thought it was pretty lame that we had to unlock the people we pretty much knew were gonna come back, while they just gave us the cool new additions from the get go. It would have been icing on the cake to see that old favorites returned already unlocked from previous games...only to find out that Diddy, King DeDeDe, Ike, Lucario, and the rest of the newcomers were there hidden and ripe for the plucking! I'd have lost my mind just off of Ike and Lucario alone lol

I dont get the thread title...

When the game releases and if mods are possible, someone should mod the Pilotwings into a Minecraft level for shits and giggles.

Seems I'm a bit little, but I think splitting stages between 3DS and Wii U is pretty smart. It's the best way to avoid the 3DS' (lack of) power bring down the Wii U version, so I hope we get some stages with crazy stuff in the Wii U!

A feather item would be swell. Like, you know, Super Mario World?

Gliding around with Bowser and Samus would be too cool for Sunday school.

I'd take a Wii U delay or even lesser looking stages just to have them in the Wii U version. As much as I love my 3DS, I don't think I'll enjoy a Smash on it if my hands already cramp up playing Kart on the XL.

People need to let SSB, Melee and Brawl go... Seriously

Once Smash 4 is released people will start tripping over themselves praising Brawl.

Scorned Nintendo games age like fine wine.

Seems to me SSE was only looked at favorably once we were told we wouldn't get another one. I thought it's unfavorable opinion was unanimous. Even the people who liked it didn't really like it and they know it.

Those that didn't like SSE but were still bummed out probably just wanted to them to give another attempt at making something better. I would be one of those people but... honestly, I'd rather them focus more on the main content than spending so much time on SSE.

I won't be crying over spilt Snake.

I thought SSE was okay, but overall somewhat wasteful, especially when I found out it was one of the reasons of the delay. That and I believe that the beefiness of the campaign probably killed some potential character slots due to size. Now with it gone, I would rather it maybe become a slightly beefed up Adventure Mode, something nice and quick but enjoyable.

I DO know one thing....if Sakurai doesn't bring back the post-match/win screen achievements, its gonna be a huuuge misunderstanding. For those who are lost on that which I refer to.....

The nifty CGI cutscenes will be the biggest loss. I have confidence that Smash 4 will improve upon Brawl in every other way.

Super Lag Bros. Broken will not be missed at all. Namco better net Smash some damn good netcode.

Wii fitness is killing Green Spaghetti Man.

Awesome picture.
