K. Rool's presence or absence in Smash 4 will likely determine whether we see him in any kind of major role ever again. If Retro (or someone else) decides to trilogize the Second Coming of Donkey Kong Country, K. Rool being confirmed for Smash 4 would definitely have influence on who they pick for the third game's villain...

It's just so unfortunate that K. Rool lacks relevance at the moment. A short while ago, K. Rool was popping up in everything from DK's own games to Mario spinoffs...now DK's in the actual limelight again and K. Rool's nowhere to be found. Some of the pieces for this series' representation in Smash are right in place, but others couldn't be further from where they need to be. (Especially if Tropical Freeze doesn't get any kind of representation by virtue of Sakurai not knowing about it...its music especially.)

Still though, I'd love Dixie if it comes down to it. A hair-based fighting style would be a Smash Bros. first.

I figured I'd put the 4 main points in the Smash Cycle. Also, I was lazy. And Falcon/Ganon should be more than enough to represent the clone argument instead of Fox/Wolf, haha.

Pac-Man actually continues to get new games, though. And with Namco having stake in Smash's development, they're gonna want to promote the current image used in such things like The Ghostly Adventures.

Smash already has surpassed it. Despite bad netcode, Brawl is leagues better than PSA.

If Sakurai made it, it'd be awesome, but I don't think anyone comes close as him when it boils down to detailing and fine-tuning.

Brawl is way better than PSA, but PSA definitely takes the cake in online play.

Jigglypuff: Feature Pokémon of Fairy type line.
Pokémon Trainer: New anime/unique playstyle
Lucario: Megaform/Popular
Mewtwo: Latest film star/Megaform/Highly requested character.

All have been in the Super Smash Bros series. Makes sense for them all to be in the next game. Bad news is if there are cuts they'll probably be others outside of any of the Pokémon fighters.

Actually, Mega Man is based on his newer designs, because the design used in Smash Bros. IS the newest design of Mega Man. His design hasn't exactly changed much...at all. He looks pretty much the same in Mega Man 10 as he did in the first Mega Man. Any other design (X, Volnutt, .EXE, etc.) isn't the same character.

I'm guessing that if Pac-Man gets in, he'll have his modern design, but his move set will be more based on his classic games rather than his newer ones, much like Sonic and Mega Man.

Edit: Holy hell nevermind. I remember them now. For some reason I thought they were called something else.
