The screens have looked like that from day 1. The only ones that don't are the 1080p ones. It's likely that we're just seeing smoothing from downsampling the images.

Man I was so excited to come in here after seeing the pic this morning, just for meltdowns. But the response is far too reasonable! What is wrong with you people! Get angry that he's a stage hazard! Reach desperately and interpret Sakurai's "any second" quote as "I will reveal Ridley as playable any second now!"

What I do like, though, is that the stage looks like it's actually built for the Wii U, rather than being a direct asset rip from Other M. There have been far too many asset-rip stages so far, I was starting to worry that everyone would be fighting in stages with previous-gen graphics for "authenticity."

Man, I'd rather they not include Ridley in any way, shape or form now that there's the risk they'd use his Other M design.

It does look like he'll be a stage hazard, though. Wasn't Ridley the stage hazard in a Metroid stage in Dead or Alive: Dimensions? It was even a fire stage like this, IIRC.

Whatever. I'll continue to hope for Palutena instead.

Actually, they should not add Mewtwo and they should add Shroomish instead if they're going to put in the Mega one. Shroomish deserves it's chance to shine.

Wii Fit Trainer would do yoga and have moves based on the minigames. Villager would use his tools. We could've guessed potential movesets for them ages ago, had they been on our radar.

Well let's not be stupid. This is the second time I've heard some kind of implication that Other M is getting overly represented. And that's just silly. Samus's design has been updated, and we have a stage from the latest Metroid game. "Wowee hard-on Other M over-gasm."

Sakurai basically confirmed Ridley's in the game. All that remains is whether that's as a stage hazard or a fully-playable character. I'm not going to play the guessing game here, because that really ratchets up emotions I've noticed; I'd rather play the waiting game, since Sakurai's wording implies he'll answer that question soon enough.

Skyward Sword itself seems kind of shafted here considering how they're still using what is basically Twilight Princess Link with brighter colors.

This will make for a good read. I've just skimmed the last page of their Ridley thread and just noticed people saying there was apparently a suicide attempt over no Lyn in Brawl and some guy not purchasing the game if Ridley isn't playable.

Fanon nonsense I would be quite glad to see you stop spreading. There is absolutely no indication in Other M that Ridley is anything but Ridley.

The broken pillar in the back of the platform (near the lava) is intact in Other M, which likely means something knocks it down during the course of the battle. Ridley's obviously going to be flying around in the background causing mayhem. Dammit.

Solid. At the very least, we'll add this stage to rotation as well. I'm really hoping that we get to turn off stage hazards this time, as this would increase the chances of this seeing the light of day in competitive play.

Concerning Ridley being playable I highly, highly doubt Sakurai would ever hint at a newcomer in the way he did in the Miiverse post for the shot.

That really is just not something Sakurai does. Ridley's out.

And I think that would extend to the possibility of a Metroid newcomer period.
