Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 2: Where Pilotwings is apparently Minecraft

Thanks, though I won't be leaking much of anything anymore.

People still don't trust me always. It's odd.

With Black & White, I got my contacts to confirm the starter evolutions for me, so I posted them as true and the internet went crazy, going to ridiculous lengths to "prove" that they were fake. Even a certain webmaster went on record as saying I was wrong.

Even this year, Mega Mewtwo got leaked ahead of its official reveal on Pokémon Smash. I was fairly certain it was true, but again it happened. Even a certain webmaster went on record as saying I was wrong.
So...how prepared are you for October :-)

I've never doubted you Joe! Except when you complained about Mewtwo in Melee then got him kicked out! ;) Seriously how did that one get started?

I just noticed all the pictures from the OP and many of them I barely recognized. Were the majority just from the press kit? I didn't realize we had a clear shot of that dark area Mario jumped through in the trailer. Still no one has figured out what game that architecture came from? I can't imagine it will be another Battle Field or Final Destination.

A lot of the stage pictures are from the E3 press kit if I recall.

For that mystery arena, it's worth noting that it has never, not once, been shown in the Pic of the Day, nor does it appear in a shot in any character's profile. Combine that with the fact that it doesn't appear to actually come from anything, its really, really odd size and platform layout, and how Mario jumped like a hundred feet in the air through it, and I rather doubt it's a normally selectable stage at all. I think it might be part of whatever Adventure mode they have.

The way this shot is framed definitely makes it look like there's more to it than what is apparent, plus there's the out door area above that Mario is launched into.

Yeah, there's something odd about it. Strange that they dropped a shot of it in the press kit and then have proceeded to say absolutely nothing about it.

So Joe, don't leak anything but do you know unrevealed stuff about X/Y that wasn't announced yet ?

So i'm noticing some serious SSE hate in here, so I'm going to put my own 2 cents on this topic.

SSE WAS AWESOME. Sure, it had some noticeable issues (like generic enemies, enviroments, etc.) but it was amazing.

There were so many awesome moments in SSE, I can't even begin to count them.
Fighting Meta Ridley on the Falcon Flyer was so damn hype, my brain couldn't handle it. So much fun. It was one of the best boss fights.
Then there was the fight against Rayquaza(one of my favorite pokemon), which just felt perfect!

The Adventure mode in melee was fun for 2 seconds sure. At the we got rewarded with a boss fight against a slightly bigger bowser. Fun.
In SSE I fought one of the hardest bosses my 11-year old self ever faced(
hey I was raised on Halo, don't judge :p
).
I always found it lame that all you fought at the end of adventure was just Bowser, I mean, why didn't they use Giga Bowser? That would of been a little better at the very least.

SSE was (at least in my opinion) by far superior to Melee's Adventure mode.
If you don't like at least give it some credit.

All you're saying is that boss battles is awesome, which I think many people agree on. SSE on the other hand is pretty shit.

Basically, I had been given a fair bit of information ahead of timee (Pokémon focused mostly, plus I was told about Sonic ahead of reveal) and I was doing my duty, as I do today for Pokémon, by shooting down fakes that I knew were fakes.

People started to see a pattern in what I was proclaiming fake and what I was ignoring, specifically they noticed me saying any roster with Mewtwo in it was fake.

As of then, people started to take notice, since I am a credible person due to my site. However, people took advantage of this and started faking logs of conversations with me, with me supposedly revealing stuff to them. They made up ridiculous friendship backstories between myself and them to attempt to make it credible.

Needless to say, due to that and the legal issues that hit with the leaks regarding Black & White in 2010, should any information come my way regarding this (and XY for that matter), I'm not going to risk it.

Interestingly, and frustratingly, though, some people seem to be mis-remembering history and claim I was wrong and was calling Lucario rosters fake and saying Mewtwo was in it. Human memory, eh?

so, are you saying you possibly know some of the smash roster not yet revealed right now? :3

im gonna throw my hat into the ring and also say i had alot of fun in SSE, infact the only time i wasent having fun was when i was going through the maze thing, felt like clear filler until the final boss
He didn't mention anything like that.
now now, im only teasing

Huh? You could fight Giga Bowser in Melee's adventure mode by playing on hard and above and finishing the game quickly. After Bowser was defeated, he became a trophy, but it's hit by a lightning, returns to the arena even bigger, and then trophy falls apart to reveal Giga Bowser.

Melee's adventure more really needed more optional battles like that in order to be fun. I'm not against a short replayable mode, but Melee's just wasn't actually replayable due to the lack of variation in possible battles/events, so you pretty much ran through the same battles with every single character if you wanted to get their trophies.

Most of SSE was filler levels, and the maze at the end was just fucking boring as shit.

I liked the maze. It does way with SSE's overused "lock the screen and force a battle against grunts" mechanic for the most part, which is easily the biggest amount of padding in most standard SSE stages, so you get various areas with multiple exists and can explore them in any way you want. The only thing that lowers the fun there is the amount of recycled content from earlier in the game.

Denial. It's all about Denial. :P

I'm so miffed that Ridley is strongly hinted to have gotten, yet again, the shaft.

Yeah, I'm surprised that they managed to shaft someone so big.

so, are you saying you possibly know some of the smash roster not yet revealed right now? :3

Don't ask someone to lose their job.

I didn't like either mode to be fair. Melee's Adventure Mode was 1/3 adventure and 2/3 glorified Classic Mode/Event Mode.

As for SSE... I felt it was too boring the 2nd time I played it. I loved SSE the first time, but I wager it had to do with the novelty, because as soon as it wore off, I found it an extremely boring experience. The levels are the biggest issues... I found them lifeless, repetitive and really uninteresting. I feel the devs got too overly ambitious and decided to make it long for the sake of it. Oh and the maze was really unnecessary, I felt it was just there to add more to the length for the sake of it.

I think to fix SSE they should make the levels interesting (or hell, make them based on Nintendo worlds) and cut all of that fat (length and the maze). Basically: Melee's Adventure Mode but done right.

The cutscenes were amusing and the boss fights were fun (outside of Tabuu's instant kill attacks), I'll give them that.

Er, no, not really. The game's data pretty plainly calls the character "Toon Sheik." Assuming it meant Tetra is just that; an assumption. The most parsimonious interpretation is that the character is exactly what was written--Toon Sheik.

Based on what? That they serve somewhat similar story roles? If the character was intended to be Tetra I can't help but feel they would have simply called her "Tetra." There's no reason to call her "Toon Sheik" if Tetra was the intended goal to begin with.

There's no way for us to know for sure, so yes, she could have been intended to be Tetra, but the game does not tell us that, and to say that Tetra was intended to be in Brawl is not being entirely truthful to the evidence at hand.

So...its less absurd to think that they were going to put the actual Toon Sheik from the hitherto unknown Toon Ocarina of Time into Smash Bros. Brawl rather than think that Toon Sheik was the team's nickname for Toon Zelda's transformation. 'Kay.

For me, I’m hoping that Issac (Golden Sun) & Starfy (The Legend of Starfy) will be included in SSB4 in some capacity. Ideally, I would like to see Issac as a playable character, as he'll be the representative for the GameBoy Advance.

Of course, I wouldn't mind if the Nintendo 3DS version will have a Golden Sun stage. That is, in which you fight against one-another on top of the Venus Lighthouse, with the Fusion Dragon as a stage hazard.

While we'll never know for sure one way or the other, I find it far more likely that Toon Sheik was just a codename Tetra, rather than them creating and designing a whole new character for Toon Zelda to transform into. TP Zelda turning into Sheik when she couldn't in Twilight Princess isn't that great an example either since Sheik was planned and redesigned for TP. Even though she was scrapped at a later date, that gave Sakurai's team more than enough to work off updating her for Brawl.

I think I gave this example ages ago in the old OT, but I think for example some of the Mario Kart games like DD!! apparently refer to Diddy Kong as DKJr. in some of the game's programming? Toon Sheik would be a quick and apt way for the staff to describe Tetra if she was a 'chibi' clone of regular Sheik gameplay-wise (and story-wise in WW she more or less is that world's version of Sheik) before she got scrapped early in development anyhow.

i can easily see lil mac and issac becoming characters in this one, no reason to put him as a AT again

I'm saying it's less absurd to take the writing at face value than to extrapolate on information that simply isn't there.

And I still don't see how "Toon Sheik" is any more made up than Brawl's Sheik, who never appeared in a Zelda title. Brawl shows us that, regardless of whether or not the Zelda they use transformed into Sheik in the game they're from, they still can in Smash.

They still worked off of designs made for a cut TP-version of Sheik supplied to them by the Zelda team though. I think it makes more sense to use Tetra as a quick clone character than taking the time to create an entirely new character as a Smash rep, something I think would go against the point of Smash anyhow.

I'd be okay with Sveta.

I never finished the first Golden Sun and haven't played any of the others.

Also, fans of a certain YouTube channel might get a kick out of this one.

I refuse to believe you apparently had to pay for a subscription to play those Ambition games under the guise that it was some sort of bizarre psychology class. Especially when the series doesn't even have a proper ending!
