Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 2: Where Pilotwings is apparently Minecraft

Have some Matthew instead. Or Sveta. Yeah I can see a lot going for Sveta. For reasons.

remember, smash bros curses characters to infinite rule 34, not just normal rule 34, but it will intensify by several thousand fold, want proof? google wii fit trainer and go to images, google, the site that now tries its darndest to hide the porn pictures

All you're saying is that boss battles is awesome, which I think many people agree on. SSE on the other hand is pretty shit.

Wait, really? Most people I have seen say they don't like SSE don't talk about the bosses at all. They just state its bad and are done with it.
Maybe I'm mistaken.

Also, what would people think of Emboar joining the fight?
I don't know, he seems like a no-brainer to me. I mean, look at him!
(I would post an image but I don't know how)

Maybe I'm mistaken.

It's because the bosses make up for a small portion of SSE playtime-wise. So I guess it's kind of easy to forget about that.

Most of the subspace bosses were such an absurd pain to fight.

Rayquaza and duon being the absolute worst. Porkey in that spider bed thing too.

When I'm talking about the bosses I mean for boss rush on intense for that winged tabuu trophy.

Lucas was the only character I could beat it with thanks to pk freeze/thunder spam from verry far away lol.

rayquaza was incredibley easily, hell his moveset was made to be reflected by fox

Actual prediction: Peach's Parasol is going to be Perry this time around.
Is that the Parasol that she had in that DS game?
Slightly OT but was that game any good? Is it worth a rent?

Anyways(and I hate to ask a question again), what do you guys think of Emboar joining the fight?

the subspace emissary made brawl feel a lot epic even if it got a little boring, I still enjoyed it, the cut scenes and some boss battles were cool. But it made unlocking stuff too easy, with Melee, I played hundred of hours of multiplayer just to unlock characters like MewTwo, with the SSE, everyone can be unlocked in 7 hours or so which was one of the factors to why me and some of my other friends stopped playing brawl after a month.

BUT... even if I kind of disliked the story mode, looking back, Melee's adventure mode was okay at best, the SSE was a step better and my casual friends liked it more than just regular vs matches because of how cool it was to see the character interact and all. Sakurai's excuse to why there won't be a story mode because of "youtube" sounds BS.
I really feel like the 3DS version is holding this game back, maybe because of how weak the 3DS is compared to the wii u + they gotta rush the game out for next year is reason enough to not do a proper good story mode. 3DS version to me is still a bad idea. smash bros was one of the excuse for someone I know to get a wii u, but now that he has a 3DS, he doesn't have a reason to get a wii u along with I'm guessing many others. bad move for nintendo to grow wii u install

As someone who is currently really enjoying white version for the first time, and likes most of the new pokemon: he has one of my least-favorite designs out of all pokemon and I'd be pretty sad if he got in over another potential pokemon rep.

....Emboar is low on my favorite starter list and besides....Ganondorf is already in as the pig rep :p

Sakurai's excuse to why there won't be a story mode because of "youtube" sounds BS.

He's just being pragmatic. If you're going to dump a bunch of time and money into creating CG videos that're going to hit the internet anyway, might as well make stuff that's better tailored to marketing the game and release them yourself.

It honestly just sounded like to me a quick reason given rather than admitting SSE took up way too many resources and wasn't that popular a feature of Brawl in the first place. I also think some people are equating no story mode with there not being an adventure mode, when I think we've already seen a tiny glimpse of what may be one in the E3 trailer.

I guess it'll depend on what we're getting for single player rather than the story mode. Removing a story focused mode that heavily used videos doesn't necessarily means that the game won't have other single player content.

A replacement mode has been mentioned regarding the 3ds version, although not described at all, but nothing has been directly said about the Wii U's single player content. As long as none of the versions end up lacking in content, it'll be just fine. If we do end up with a barebones game though, I guess I'll need to add Smash Bros to the number of Nintendo missteps with the Wii U...

The game's multiplayer clearly doesn't seem to be heavily revamped. Even if the final engine ends up more well liked by the competitive scene than Brawl's, that won't translate into a significant number of sales. They really need to have prepared something special for this game that they haven't revealed yet...

How? I have no trouble with most of them, 'cept Tabuu and maybe Gallum(is that his name? whatever).

In fact Rayquaza is one of the easiest, I felt.

I played Fox vs. Rayquaza. When he does the attack where he snakes across the screen for 5 years, it's not very fun to play a fast falling character.

Duon, Galleom or whatshisface and Tabuu all had pretty annoying attacks, but the worst part was that they all felt soooo incredibly uninspired. Tabuu was the only one who had unique attacks (and those were all just random ass stuff), the other 2 bosses were just like... ramming and shooting missiles/lasers and that's it.

I thought they were fine with the exception of porky. Yes, including tabu.

I'd like to see the Dark Emperor and the Face Raiders final boss (or any of the FR bosses) as bosses for the game.

SSE had cool boss fights and cutscenes. The rest... nah.

Totally agree on this one. Im glad there was a boss mode and cut-scene viewer.

lolol good one Heath. Ridley stuff just never gets old. :3

Am I the only one who is perfectly OK with Ganondorf's fighting style now?

I've been playing him a lot in Brawl, and I think the fighting style fits him. He doesn't stand back and throw magic balls at you, no, he comes straight after your ass. Then he sends you flying with a powerful magic punch.
Sure Sakurai could add a few more differentiating moves(maybe a new up B?), but I think he is perfect the way he is.Thoughts?

And if you did make changes to him what kind would they be? Total changing of his move set, or just adding different nuances to his current move set?

I personally think that he should have a new addition to his Normal B, where you use normal b in mid-air then press down(instead of back) and does a devastating ground smash that does a shit ton of damage, and breaks guards.
Of course, the cons would be that the hitbox becomes smaller, and it is only really useful in a few situations. He can also aim up with it, to further widen its uses, and also with the same cons.

im actually fine with his moveset now, i think sakurai changed it up just right, his moves while still similar to captain falcon, are made to be something he would personally use, i love his side be, just so badass

If Captain Dorf returns they might as well let him speed around in an F-Zero racer.

While I wasn't too hot on SSE, I thought Tabuu was pretty fucking awesome. Loved the extra-dimensional God thing he had going.

Ganny needs that energy ball though. The most defining thing about his fighting style in the Zelda series is playing energy ball tennis. I think for the most part, Ganny's moveset fits in very well with Smash. The problem is that he's Ganny and in a game where the creator puts an inordinate amount of effort to make sure each character reflects the themes of their respective game series, it's sad to see him without anything in his moveset that really harken back to previous Zelda games.

So I'm torn. I like the fighting style he has now just fine, but I want Ganny to be, well, Ganny.

I can totally see Ganondorf riding in a F-zero racer.

Besides, what's wrong with his style now? I feel it is different enough from Captain Falcon's move set on its own. Like I said earlier, just add a few more moves, and be done with it.

I also think it fits a powerful warlord like Ganondorf.

I don't mind heavy magical melee attacks. I mind that they are mirror images of another character. I feel like Ganondorf should have his own unique moveset, actually derived from his in-game appearances. Wizard's Foot is ridiculous, Ganondorf would never do a flying kick. Nor would he do that crazy up-tilt axe kick. His side-tilt is probably the only kick I can see him actually doing, the rest are pretty out of character. He's not much of a kicker, he should be fighting with weapons and magic more than anything. His side-B makes sense, I like that it's a dominating and evil-looking attack. Warlock Punch is okay since it has a lot of windup. Single dismissive fist attacks work with him. His up-B is kind of okay, but doesn't necessarily make a lot of sense. I'm not a huge fan of him grappling. His normal attacks should all be quick and powerful single strikes, mostly fists. His smash attacks should all be sword and/or trident based. And his specials should all involve magic. He definitely needs an energy ball of some sort in there. Maybe throws several seeking smaller energy blasts with trails as his side-B, charges a single solid ball one-handed over his head with neutral-B. Covering his two OOT blasts. I like a magic ground smash area-of-effect attack somewhere in there too.

Man, now I made myself sad, since I'm sure he'll just be Captain Falcon again. SIGH.

Take away the purple glitter and Captain Dorf looks even more like a wannabe Captain Falcon.

Hi, my name is Not and I am the only one who wants Black Shadow to be in Smash Bros

Hi, Nottt

Now there is a Falcon clone.

DID SOMEONE SAY

Hi, my name is Not and I am the only one who wants Black Shadow to be in Smash Bros

Hi, Nottt

My name's JazzmanZ and I'm a smash fan.
Ah.. Let's see I'm 5 feet tall. I weigh 251 pounds, Got a little bit of a temper on me.
My passion bubbles very near the surface, I guess...I'm not gonna lie.

I'm a Smash fan. I love the game series..a lot.

I mean, I'm very good at what I do Probably the best I know.
The thing is, Black shadow is the name of the game Literally, I want him in the next game.
So yeah, naturally the guy with the name Black shadow is the bad guy.
He's nice enough as wants go. Definitely fills a slot really well..

but,.. aah.. if you got another character in the series in, how hard can it be?
If he was a regular joe..basic guy,....I guarantee you, he would not be able
to get in the game.

As an F-Zero fan, one of the thing that always annoy me in Smash Wishlish is Black Shadow being asked as a Captain Falcon clone.

Like not even an original moveset. Plus almost any other F-Zero character of relevance would be more interesting than him.

What's the deal with that tiny toad?

If I'm not mistaken, Toad rapidly grows/shrinks in size when Peach pulls him out/puts him away in both games.

Same concept for how Ganondorf turns into Ganon in Brawl.

Never heard that one before. Personally, I'm annoyed when people request for him to be a Ganondorf clone.

Edit:
I would prefer Samurai Goroh, but Black Shadow taking Ganondorf's old moveset to free him up for something new would be a digestible compromise.

Speak of the devil lol

Or Maybe Ganon could just stop being a clone without the necessity of someone from F-Zero taking his place.

I just understand why people think that is a thing that is needed.

A Devil in Satan clothing.

Or better yet, we get three Captain Falcons.

Again, I would prefer no clones, but I don't see that happening. People suggest it because it seems like something Sakurai would do.

Fox was perfect for Rayquaza

A jump (Or double jump, i can't remember which one i used most. It's been awhile since i cleared Boss Battles Intense) and fox fire down after the head misses was perfect at avoiding and also dealing damage. Especially after Rayquaza's health drops and it starts doing that cross screen charge multiple times.
